Older woman at the front desk was very rude to myself and four year-old son... I've been coming there for years and my son for the past year. You could tell she didn't want to cut a kid's hair. Half of the staff knows us there and my boy always does a good job. I said we will come back at another another time and she didn't hesitate to offer up another stylist.... I believe this woman was someone from the North Syracuse location that closed down. I'll happily take my money elsewhere. Simple mend haircut Forced to face a fly-feces covered wall 6" from my face, turned away from the mirror by the hairstylist, who then proceeded to give me the worst cut I have ever had, I hadn't realized until she turned me towards the mirror, within 3-4 minutes of beginning and asking how I liked it. I was in shock and immediately just pointed out to the top of my head where the hair was clearly much longer than it should be. She turned me towards that dotted wall and trimmed some more. I was not surprised when she said she was done after 6 or 7 scissor strokes. I gave a tip still. I have been coming here for so many years and for the most part have always had a great experience. The cost is really low and the stylists are quite skilled at cutting here. Even if there is an issue, they will take care of the issue and make it right. I have been coming to see Rachel there for more years than I can count and she always cuts my hair exactly how I want it. I have never once had an issue and she has probably the best attitude of anyone there. There are a couple issues to speak of though. There was one time where they had a stylist who did mess up my hair once, but they were willing to fix it at no cost. Which is great customer service. The other issue that irks me, is that in order to handle credit card costs they raised the price to $7. Then, after a while they they stopped taking credit cards all together. They still have the higher rate even though they don't take credit anymore. That is a bummer, but the fact that I can't pay with my credit card is a huge inconvenience. I do highly recommend coming here for a cut though. 7 bucks for guys cuts is still very inexpensive! read more

This place is filthy. The rain was pouring in while I was there-right over one of the rinse/wash stations. I almost gagged when the "stylist' put a cloth over my face to keep it dry as the stench was horrible. Paid $120.00 for a perm, questioned her when she used just one bottle of solution on the over 100 rollers it takes to do my hair, and yes, it's barely wavy 3 weeks later. I called to make 3 appointments for my daughters. When we got there we were greeted by the stylist and walked back to a semi private room. While my first daughter was getting her hair cut another worker (barber) from the other side of the salon told us that we couldn't all be in there. We were wearing masks and from the same family. I told him that I was not going to leave my children unattended out side nor was I going to leave my three old getting her hair cut by a stranger. He insisted there could only be one person and was extremely rude and had a complete disregard for our family. I should have left but my girls really needed a hair cut. For a 5$ haircut you get what you pay for. I need a haircut every week as a Marine and its a simple fade and trim. The only time that i have had a decent haircut was with a younger male. The lady with the red hair messed up my fade so bad that it looked like a bowl cut. They fixed it for free but it was awkward going back in there to get it done. For the 2nd time, I sat down for a hair cut and the hair dresser picked up the comb and clippers from her desk that were used on the guy before me, and probably everyone else all day WITHOUT spraying them with anything and her jar of "barbacide" was BONE DRY. Full of combs with peoples hair clippings in them and zero barbacide. I could be wrong, but I think it's the LAW that you must disinfect combs between customers. If it is not, I may have just found a cause worthy of throwing my hat in the political ring. In addition to this, the girl was sick and was coughing openly in the air, with spittles of saliva flying around. I held my breath as she breathed on me and prayed it would be over soon. When she'd ask her canned hair-dresser questions ("so, do you have today off work?"), I'd talk out the side of my mouth that was opposite her, and hold my breath again... This happened for the entire haircut until I was ready to turn blue. Yes, I like saving money and a $7 haircut that comes out pretty decent 65% of the time is a gamble that is right up my alley... This is our usual go to for my husbands hair cut. Hes been going for more than 3 years, and most times it's fine. But sometimes they dont listen and they go too short, or they dont leave his tips long like he asked. And he never complains. Until today. Yesterday he went in, and even though again she went too short, he didn't complain and still tipped her. Even though he was annoyed that they kept taking walk ins that came in after him before calling him, he still didnt say anything. But when he got home I asked why he had a huge bald spot on the back his head. He had no idea. How could the stylist who goes to school for this not just be honest and say she was sorry and she had made a mistake? So I called for a refund because now my husband is upset because he has a huge bald spot clearly noticable. The manager, Lisa, tells me it's her family business for 30 years and they dont do refunds. But come in and shell fix it l. She will fix it by shaving the back of his head to match. He didnt ask to be bald, so no that isnt an option. I said he would just like a refund because hes very unhappy. She said no, they dont do refunds they give you a gift card to come back. Come back to the salon where she gave him a large bald spot on his head and let them do this again? No thanks. If $15 means that much to Lisa she can keep it. But we will never come back, and well make sure all our friends go elsewhere also. NOT because she made a mistake like she keeps saying, but because they charged him, let him also tip the stylist and she couldn't even mention she had made a mistake.
