Dear Prospective Clients of Concierge Care: In the spring of 2018, my mother had a devastating health crises that put her in the ER, then the ICU, then hospital, then rehab assisted living. We were told she needed to be immediately and permanently placed in a nursing home, in spite of her relatively young age. My family was devastated. Up to this point, though experiencing some memory loss, Mom had been living a fully independent life, driving, traveling, etc. Her collapse was a terrible shock. The months of aftermath I spent struggling to help her transition to a completely new living situation were possibly the sorest trial I have ever personally endured. Imagine very suddenly having to manage your parent's entire life, absolutely everything, for them, basically forever. And imagine that that parent lived in another state. It was beyond overwhelming; my life, along with my mother's, my husband's, and my brother and his family's, was turned upside down. Utterly out of my depth, I felt like a soul desperately lost in an unfamiliar wood. How fortunate I was to be referred to Sylvana Rinehart for guidance. Sylvana stepped up with the calm voice of reassuring experience, her background steeped in the workings, language, pitfalls, and benefits of the world of senior living and memory care. The warmth of her manner was so caring and lovely, I took to her like a long-lost friend. I never had any worry that she had anything but my mother's and my family's well-being foremost in mind. Responsive and gracious, her advice was strongly given, from deeply-held and well-earned conviction. Yet, she was very open to my family's personal views and needs. Her connections helped ease my way through meeting staff and touring memory care homes, which she attended with me as needed. She was right on about what care my mom would require, and right on about the kind of home that would best serve her and which homes were a good fit. Ultimately, we did not choose one of the homes suggested by Sylvana, but that was only due to the fact that our family decided to move Mom out of state to be close to her grandchildren. I never felt pressured to follow Sylvana's recommendations. All Sylvana asked in return for her support and guidance was that I write a letter to express my thoughts about her support. It can be an overwhelming process - understanding the different types of facilities, the financing, and the general stress of such a drastic life transition for everyone involved. I was referred to Concierge Care Advisors, a locally-owned company that helps families negotiate the complicated world of elder care. From my first phone call to them, I was assigned an advisor who helped me figure out which type of place was best for my beloved, made suggestions on appropriate places, and arranged tours of those facilities. My mother is in a beautiful Adult Family Home in Olympia WA, with kind and caring staff because of Erin Denstaedt, our amazing Concierge Care Advisor. Our journey with Erin began in August, when my mother entered the hospital (the first time). Our first meeting (of many meetings, in the months to come)was in the hospital cafeteria. This she did for our convenience and it so appreciated! We immediately felt we had an advocate, someone who really cared and would be by our side, as we navigated the complicated world of long-term care. Our initial impressions were 100% correct!! Additional hospitalizations and a 2 month stay at Panorama City Rehabilitation Center, delayed my mother moving into her AFH. Even so, August thru the end of November- Erin called, emailed, text and even went to visit my mom!! She went above and beyond to make this transition in our families life, so much easier! As we went through so much together, touring homes, discussing finances and even where to buy a bed...Erin is now considered a friend and my mom even now says- one of her daughters. I would like share some information regarding Rose Fabrick from Senior Concierge Care. My friends son and I needed to find an assisted care facility. One of the hardest decisions was where to begin to look for a new family home for my mother who has Aphasia, Alzheimer's and Dementia. The Internet was overwhelming! Rose Fabrick started to work our family at first when our mother needed the rehab service after her hip replacement surgery. She maintained her support and involvement with us way after our mother has completed the rehab.
