At my request, she also detailed things for me to personally improve on in the future such as diet and exercise. I asked her many questions about the many vaccines available and she shared with me her knowledge and experience. It is never easy dealing with insurance companies and the costs of medications but I always feel like she, her nurse and her office staff are working for me even when I am not in the office. I had to reschedule my appt at the last minute and her office staff were very understanding. Kay, one of the administrative people is the kindest person I have ever met working in any doctor's office.

First, she was NOT friendly. I was taken aback instantly by how she answered the phone. She was very short, curt, and abrupt through our very brief conversation. Then, I realized she is only an answering service, and if I wanted to schedule an appointment, I would have to wait 6 days until someone else returned to the office to call me to get my information (and who knows how long I'd have to wait to be seen after that). If the first person I spoke to is any indicator on how the rest of my experience will go, I will easily move on and find someone else.

As someone who also works in the healthcare profession, I believe that every patient or client deserves to be treated as a priority in that moment. While I understand that this field can be demanding and overwhelming at times, the foundation of our work is compassion and a commitment to care for others as we would expect or want to be cared for. I feel that if this is not a priority, considering a role that does not involve direct interaction with individuals seeking help and guidance would be more appropriate. Professionalism and empathy are essential components in this setting. It's crucial that all staff members demonstrate principles that reflect integrity, grace, respect, and compassion in every patient interaction, from the front desk and beyond.
