Super convenient to take the Amtrak train from PHL to BOS, then walk over 5 minutes to catch the bus to Portland, Maine. The Concord Coach Lines bus was ticketed in conjunction with the Amtrak train so the timing was perfect. God, I hate driving in traffic, and it was just so nice to sit back and relax during the 2 hour drive. Wifi was OK on the way up, not so much on the way down. Glad I brought a jacket as the AC was on full blast. They showed a movie each way, so bring headphones if you want to watch year old movies on the small TV screen above. read more

Warning, they do not allow pets, even if in carriers. We had travelled many times with our dog, but got a very nasty driver who would not let us on the bus even though the small dog was securely in a carrier. They lost a long time customer. read more

Today 21 Feb 2026 I have two hours to burn at 105 because the bus didn't stop, I saw a lady running trying to catch it- this was before the gent wouldn't open the bus door for me and he was NOT at 105. The lady and I were physically attempting to catch the 1125 bus which failed to stop at 105. I understand the bus line is on some sort of a time crunch, but why stop elsewhere and not 105 especially on a time constraint? How was I supposed to know? Poorly done by the bus operator. Wait long enough for your customer to get to the bus before leaving! I walked over to every single Concord Coach bus, all four of them that came by only to be told they were drop off only, or going to another destination. The only one that didn't wait long enough for me to approach the driver was apparently the bus was supposed to be on. It had been slightly late, so maybe trying to make up time? I dont know. I would walk between where all four CC busses came to the sidewalk, and back to the sidewalk where the first bus driver had told me I would be picked up. Despite calling Concord Coach and that awful driver still being in the vicinity, they would not return to the terminal. it's a two hour wait until the next bus. I've taken the Concord Coach bus from Logan airport to Concord on several occasions. I would prefer to fly in to and out of Manchester, but Logan has many more flight options. The bus ride to Concord is dependable and comfortable. The bus has many trips per day, and arrives on schedule. It is clean and has good (free!) wifi. How do I review a bus company? Pricing, comfortability/amenities, customer service, and promptness. I bought tickets to Portland, Maine weeks in advance through the Megabus website. It was a total of $4 roundtrip for 2 hr ride! What a steal! I chose the bus rather than the train because it was about the same amount of time to get there, 2 hrs. So, by researching, I saved over $20. (5/5) However, I knew that if there was a bus problem/traffic or if I had an appointment then I'd be screwed. Luckily, I didn't make urgent plans to be somewhere. The bus check in was fairly easy as I just showed my confirmation number. The bus drivers left on time or a few minutes after the ETA due to late comers and luggage loading. (4/5) The bus does have outlets to charge phones and tablets. However, their internet is best spotty.(3/5) The trip was completely silent as the bus driver said that was important for showing respect to all other passengers. I'd take concord again if I was in no rush to be somewhere. read more

These people are so crazy!! I can see wearing a mask inside as it is required but wearing a mask OUTSIDE!!!!!! My son and I got yelled at by the bus driver while OUTSIDE and saying goodbye to my husband who's in the military and will be gone for A YEAR!!! We're all crying and the bus driver is like, "Please put your mask on!!!!" No one else was around us and we were WAY more than 6 ft from the bus driver and the bus!!!! Literally got cuts on my hand from the bus. Asked the bus driver for a bandaid and some sort of disinfectant and they dont have any. No apology for 1. Getting hurt in the first place or 2. Bot having an adequate first aid kit on board. Luckily another passenger had a bandaid and hand sanitizer. Will never ever use this bus service again. Nice buses, nice drivers, nice passengers, but the bus was 45 minutes late because it had traffic problems getting out of the airport coming to pick us up at South Station, and I called customer service three times, and spoke to the ticket counter three times, and no one could ever give any sort of an estimate as to when it might arrive. Not even a wild guess. Don't their buses have GPS trackers? Aren't they in touch with the drivers to find out what's going on? Why would they not communicate that to their passengers. read more

The seats are comfy and have a molded head perfect for naps! They give you pretzels and water! The drivers are excellent You aren't allowed to use your cell for more than a minute! The prices are pretty decent ( not as cheap as bolt bus or mega but pretty close...same day return is really cheap!) It's the best! read more

Concord Coach Lines is an example of how to run a good bus service. The staff is helpful and friendly and loads your luggage under the bus for you. Their buses always leave on time. The buses are new and comfortable. The overhead storage space is large enough to fit most things you'd want to bring on board. They show movies on all trips, and multiple movies on longer trips. They offer free pretzels and water, and their stations have free coffee for the earlier part of the day. When the weather is bad they rarely cancel the bus, they go anyway and it just takes a bit longer to get there. I have taken buses in blizzards and the bus still got there. I wish they went more places, because I would rather take them than other bus lines in the area. Only one caution: If you are taking an early bus from South Station, you might want to buy your tickets in advance. They open the counter only a very short time before the first bus of the day leaves, and it is stressful to be waiting on that line when you should be on line to board the bus. read more

New York to Portland route is a disappointment. Has no bus station, just a regular bus stop. The bus also didn't show up until 10 min before departure time, and since covid has hit they only have 1 bus operating everyday. Unfortunately this meant a fully packed bus with no extra seats. Bus operates like normal and I don't see any covid precautions other than mask wearing. Bus don't smell good either, should clean your space to be safe. Operators are not good either, rude. Used the bus bathroom shortly after departure after not finding any close by. While I was still inside he rudely knocked and said no smoking in the bathroom. He just left without saying a word after I said ok. I don't even smoke.. Will not be traveling this route anymore and you should really be more courteous worst service I've had here. read more

Their website says they require masks, but it's not posted anywhere on the bus and not only is it not enforced, the driver didn't even mention that it's required. It will say that masks are required when you buy your tickets, but if you don't want to ride on a bus with a lot of unmasked people, choose a different method of travel. read more

It's very possible that all you chuckleheads out in Yelp-land don't work next to South Station and have a father who lives in New London, New Hampshire, and therefore think that the Dartmouth Coach exists for more than just me. Fools! It's clean, it's air conditioned, it's on time, it's rotten with outlets and wifi, and the drivers are all polite New Hampshire born n' raised. It runs 6 trips a day and takes me door to door for $56 round trip. It saves me from downtown Boston parking lots and stop and go traffic up 93N in a stick shift. It's pretty much perfect. I've been using Concord Coach for five years now. I've stayed with them due to their concerns for passenger comfort. I will note however their counter clerks are inept when passengers are actually in a hurry. Their Comfortable​ and Peaceful demeanor is wonderful when you yourself have all the spare time to check in with leisure. If you are the type who jumps from junction to junction with haste you may want to see if there are other ways to your destination. read more

This is BY FAR the best bus I've ever been on...and I've been on a lot of buses in my day. My parents live in Maine, I live in NYC. I usually take this bus from Boston to Maine when I go to visit them, and it's definitely a relief getting on this bus after traveling on either Greyhound (the worst bus/service I've EVER been on), Bolt, Megabus, or the ever-awful Chinatown buses *shiver* This bus is the best because: 1. They play a movie! Sometimes they're a little corny, but time passes quickly when watching. If you don't feel like watching it, they have radio stations you can listen to. They also provide you with headphones free of charge. 2. Free pretzels & water. 3. The drivers are sososo nice. I got to talking about the Beatles with one of the drivers, and he let me use his iPod for the rest of the trip to listen to his Beatles collection - so cool. 4. They are always on time...ALWAYS 5. Free coffee & newspapers before boarding! 6. The price is right. 7. I've very rarely had a full bus which is great if you like to spread out. 8. Always clean. The only problem I have is I wish they went to NYC :( But other than that, it's perfect. Love it! read more

One of the best bus experiences I've had! The trip from Boston to Portland is quick and easy on Concord Coach Lines. The ticket sales folks are very nice and usually lines are very quick. Just get there early if you'd like a window seat or if you are traveling with someone and want to sit together. If you are traveling to Logan they tag your bags for you so that when you arrive at the terminal the process of getting them back is quick and easy. As you enter they bus just drop the bags with the employee and tell them which airline you are traveling with and they take it from there! Also on your way onto the bus there are usually complimentary water bottles and pretzels so be sure to grab those. The seats themselves are very comfortable and there are plugs to charge your laptop/phone/etc and free wifi! The movies are usually pretty good and are timed very well to finish before the trip is over. The restrooms and bus seats are clean. I'll be taking Concord Coach again for sure! read more

This is 5-star bus service all the way! After many, many harrowing trips to NY via Greyhound (shudder), I got to experience the joys of the Dartmouth Coach between Boston and Lebanon/Hanover, NH to visit my boyfriend's family. The Dartmouth Coach buses are clean and as non-stinky as buses get. They're more like the coach buses you rent with a school group to go on a long trip, rather than the icky ones used in bus transport. They recently got a fleet of shiny new buses, too, so they're pristine. When board the bus, there is a cooler in the front seat behind the driver that has complimentary snack packs of pretzels, half-pints of water, and headphones for the movie (yes, I said movie.) The headphone jacks for the movie have a personal volume control, and several channels of prerecorded music (though I've never listened to them.) The bus has a few electrical outlets for plugging in phones or laptops for those dilligent enough to find one, and they also provide a drink holder/tray table for you to put your lunch/snacks/work on. The bus drivers usually drive conservatively for bus drivers, and the bus is usually on time or early to its destination unless there's traffic or something out of the driver's control. Plus, the buses have a "short conversations only" cell phone rule, so you won't be subjected to someone's two hour babble about their hip surgery or whatever. The only drawbacks I've seen on the bus are the occasional DVD-player failures, which results in a late movie or no movie, or the movie quality. Some of the movies are good, but others aren't really worth watching. (If you're inclined to bring kids, they do run PG-13 movies sometimes.) Also, if you sit in the handicapped seats, the headphone jacks are mounted to the wall, not the seatbacks, so you'll end up with someone reaching over you to plug in and adjust their audio settings. Logan Airport, South Station, and Lebanon NH are the only stops with a terminal, so plan appropriately if you're getting off at any of the other stops. Best bus ever! read more

Now THIS is how you run a regional coach line. The drivers are courteous and friendly. The buses are clean and almost always on time. The tickets are not only affordable, but they come with a generous refund policy. (Good luck getting a penny back from Greyhound if something goes wrong.) Also, as a frequent visitor to Northern New England, I'm really impressed with the range of small rural towns that Concord Coach Lines services. The fact that I can get from Boston to Pinkham Notch Visitor Center - the gateway to hiking trails in the White Mountains - without getting behind the wheel of a car is kind of amazing. Seriously. If more bus companies offered such great service, we'd see a lot of travelers choosing to take their cars off the road. read more

These guys are great. My mother-in-law uses them to travel back and forth between Boston and midcoast Maine, and I occasionally use them to make it up there myself. Some highlights: the buses are always on time. They leave on time, they get where they're going on time. (Ok, sometimes Maine-bound on a Friday in the summer they get a little behind because of traffic.) The drivers are unfailingly polite and helpful. Quintessential professionals who truly enjoy their job. The free bottled water and pretzels when you get to Portland. Depending on how far you go, two movies: one to Portland, and another for the rest of the way. All in all, great trip, very reasonably priced, and sure beats driving. read more

If you're familiar with West Coast bus transportation, you'll be amazed at the cleanliness, professionalism, and convenience of Concord Coach Lines. My boyfriend and I took Concord from South Station in Boston to Portland, ME for the very reasonable price of $36/person. PRO TIP: The Silver Line (SL1) from Boston Logan Airport to South Station is FREE, so you can save ~$10 by taking the SL1 to South Station and catching Concord Coach Lines from there. The website is easy to navigate and makes for simple ticket purchasing. You'll choose a departure time but the return time is completely up to you. (For example, we were planning on taking the 7:30PM bus from Portland back to Boston but opted to leave on the earlier 6PM bus.) The "fancy" buses will have a tray table, foot rest, and serve pretzels and water while boarding. The less fancy buses will only have a cup holder. Both buses (to and from) have free WiFi (enough for email but not for streaming), outlets, reclining seats, cup holders, and overhead compartments for small carry-on items. The trip from Boston to Portland is about two hours and they will play a movie on the overhead screens for the duration of the trip. Overall, a very good experience and a budget friendly way to travel in New England. PRO TIP: Try to find the wheelchair aisle if there aren't any passengers with disabilities. You'll get a tad extra leg room! read more

I'm now almost two hours past the time my bus was due here at Logan, there is no access to any customer service, a driver on a different Concord bus told me I was reading the schedule wrong then just ignored me and walked away. The whole experience is completely terrible, and I'm stranded in Boston with no way back to Portland. I will never use them again. read more

I take this bus a few times a year to head up noath to visit the fam. While this may be my only option as I do not drive and no other busses service the area I go to- Littleton- I couldn't be happier. The fare has been raised recently to about $65 round trip its still fairly affordable. And when I think of the cost of having a car and driving up versus taking the bus every now and again its so worth it. I can just sit back and let someone else make the 3+ hour drive up 93 so I don't have to. The seats are indeed comfortable, always clean and I only sometimes have a packed bus. Usually I can just stretch out on the 2 seats and relax the whole way. The drivers are always very safe and prompt. I even run into people I know from way back when every now and again. Its always a fun surprise! The only drawback- The route I need is only once a day. Leaves South Station at 6:15pm and leaves Littleton at 6:50am. read more

The driver was very unprofessional, rude and lack the very basic communication skill. I as taking the bus from Boston to Maine. At one of the stops, the driver let passengers out to use bathroom or stretch legs. There are only 10 people on the bus, but only a few got off, including me. The bus driver always stand by the boor when people are getting on and off. After a few minutes, we walk back to the bus. The driver let other passengers up, but he stop me before i even got to the door. He literally YELL me, telling me I can't go in because he doesn't recognize me. (YES, that's what he said. He recognized everyone except me, the only guy wearing a purple shirt) He yelled so loud that people literally stop what they were doing and looking at us. No joke. I told him I was on the bus. He didn't believe me. He kept questioning me, eventually let me in because I provided proof. He didn't even apologize.
