The staff are phenomenal, they have no problem talking with the passengers while waiting for the next pickup or drop of and they are always so happy. It really makes a difference. Took the Concord Coach Lines to Pinkham Notch and Gorham, NH to do some hiking with some friend for a weekend. Pro: It was nice to not have to rent a card, deal with any tolls, and just be able to sit back and enjoy the ride through all the trees and mountains. Over the course of the weekend, I saw 3 different drivers (we took the bus everyday by staying in Gorham) and all were more than nice and friendly, even at 8am in the morning. -Boston to White Mountains area is about $60 RT -Gorham to Pinkham Notch is $6 and with cheaper hotel options, it was worth it for us! -buses were simple, but clean and tidy with no weird smells...ride was about 4 hous long Con: My only gripe about this bus line is there's only one bus each day in each direction and they all leave at the same time. -4:15pm leaves Boston sharp, if you're not on it...well then you're not going until the next day buddy! -8:06am bus arrives from other direction (Gorham) and travels back towards Boston Overall, I'd still consider this a great service as it makes sense why they wouldn't have a lot of lines running. The bus was never full even on a weekend so economically, it makes no sense to have so many bus times. OMG I thought it was going to be a relaxing trip since I'm not driving. I was wrong. The bus was late and for some crazy reason ( the driver said the road was closed) dropped us off roadside 1/2 mile from the designated stop. Thank god for cellphones as I was able to contact my friend picking me up. We drove between where he dropped us and the bus terminal- there was NO road closure! Not everyone had a cell phone. I felt really bad for them. I called corporate to complain, but it fell on deaf ears. Oh well, I'll never use their service again. read more

I've been taking concord trailways for over 13 years. I used to take the bus daily back and forth between Portland and Boston while I attended Boston university Medical School. The bus drivers have always been kind, informed and courteous. Today my husband and I are heading to Bali, Tim our bus driver was rude, inconsiderate and uninformed. It was a HUGE disappointment. Well probably try riding again, but I feel bad for anyone on Tims bus (thus was the 11:30 from Portland Maine to Logan then South Station) on Tuesday October 3rd.! read more

The bus should have started loading 15-20 minutes before departure time so the bus could leave at the scheduled 7:30 am time. The bus left 20 minutes late (not good when catching a plane). Two days ago, I called in 15 minutes after my bus pulled away from its stop at Colby College in Maine because I realized I left my phone right on top of a seat. The information center said that it would take two days to conduct a "thorough search" on the bus, because they couldn't contact the driver in transit and "they had to stick to a schedule," even though I knew my phone was literally on top of a seat and that it would only take a few minutes. As a result, I am without my smartphone that has my private information and I need to shell out several hundred dollars to replace it. I've called multiple station in the past two days, asking if they've found it, but every person I called didn't even know the phone was lost. It leaves me to wonder if their internal communication between stations is up to date and if they even conducted a "thorough search". All it took was a phone call to the next bus stop, which could have alerted the driver to do a quick sweep before letting anyone else on, all within a few minutes. It just goes to show that company doesn't care about individual, high value customer property as much as it does about keeping a schedule. Concord Coach is great for meeting your basic requirements for a regional bus company, but I personally will avoid riding it in the future because of its lack of concern for personal property, internal miscommunication and inefficiency of recovering lost items. read more

I have been riding concord coach for many years to visit family in Portland Maine. It is a far cry from what it once was. The busses are torn and dirty. I recently took a bus to south station was told several times that it was express to south station and as the bus pulled on to the highway the driver announced this bus is going to Logan airport then south station (not the direct south station stop that I was assured several times). Once in Boston it took an extra 45min. to stop at all 4 terminals and unload their luggage and drive to south station. There is no apology for the loss of time and breach of contract (my ticket is not for Logan airport). This is a flagrant abuse of our time and money and rapidly thinning patience. I would rate concord coach as over priced. Fung wah has nicer busses and is cheaper! I will not continue to ride concord coach anymore. read more

I take Concord Coach Lines at least once every other month from Boston to Bangor. While I am not a big fan of bus lines, I have had great experiences with Concord Coach Lines. First, the staff are always professional and attentive--imagine that on Greyhound! They typically ensure everyone is settled and request people not talk on their phone during the rides (major plus for comfort). Buses are comfortable--seats are nice, most have outlets, AC/heat obviously, and WiFi (though very slow). Also, while I typically bring my own materials, they have five frequently rotating movies that they show on the rides. Buses leave and arrive on time, traffic permitting. The bus makes scheduled stops at Portland and Augusta but will skip these if a) the bus is full of people going further or b) no one is getting off/getting on in Augusta. This is nice on high travel days. The only incident came when, about an hour north of Boston, there was a problem with the engine. The driver pulled over and another bus came for us within an hour. Since this is the only abnormal incident and the issue was handled so professionally, I would not fault them. Overall--highly recommended! read more

The WORST (South Station) Customer service counter in the country! The company does not care but the idiots giving out tickets are rude and stupid. I've called the personnel person in NH but he didn't care. Concord Coach provides excellent comfort, service, and reliability on the buses themselves. So why only 3 stars? On my return from a hiking trip in the White Mountains, the 4-hour ride to Boston went without a hitch, and was very pleasant. I would have given the company 5 stars based on this. Then, at Boston South Station, the baggage employee (perhaps one of the South Station dispatchers) got overzealous trying to snag my nearly-new backpack with a Captain Ahab-style hook and destroyed the mesh of the outer pocket, ripping a big-ass hole in it (so large that objects fall out if placed inside). I always try to get my own backpack on & off the buses, but as I was sitting near the rear, I had been one of the last passengers off. Even then, I got there in time to SEE the baggage-spearer wrestling my beloved pack with his shark hook, and tried to offer to get it myself, but it was too late. The bag had to be sent to the manufacturer for repair. In the short amount of time remaining before I had to catch my connecting bus, I dealt with Concord's customer service by phone and in the station. To their credit, Concord Coach gave me a small payoff & 1 free ride in exchange for my trouble, but it was barely enough to cover the hassle of 1) making my connection more stressful & time-crunched; 2) paying the pack manufacturer & FedEx shipping costs for the repair; 3) destroying the memories of the final day of my enjoyable backpacking trip by causing me to spend the rest of my day stewing about my ruined bag. I'm guessing my experience is not the norm, so I still recommend Concord Coach. Still, I am giving a lower rating than I normally would because of this experience. Perhaps it will encourage them to tell the bag-men (even if they don't work directly for CC) to go easier on their passengers' luggage. read more

I use this bus line every year when I visit Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. I fly to Boston and take the 3 hour ride to Meredith. $28 each way. Never once have I been disappointed. The buses are clean and air conditioned with free wifi. The seats are comfy. They are efficient and organized. read more

I have been using concord coach lines on many occasions but wont be using them again. We were waiting at the bus stop in North Conway NH and waived down the bus driver as directed and the bus driver didn't stop. When we called to talk to someone they told us there was nothing they could do. Because this was our only way back to boston and it was the last trip back for the day we had to then get a car service and it cost us $350 to get back. read more

Had a lovely day trip with Concord Coach Lines to Portland from Boston last weekend. Got an 8am bus from South Station, and got the 7:30 home. The buses were clean and comfortable, drivers were very professional, wifi worked (although more for light browsing than heavy video streaming), there was a movie you could watch on working TVs, we departed and arrived on time, FREE PRETZELS, etc. My only qualm is that they don't have a later bus leaving from Portland (latest is 7:30, which means an early dinner, or in my case, one fewer brewery to be able to visit) This weekend I used other carriers to go from Boston to NYC, and they paled in comparison to CCL. read more

Wow, almost all the reviews are 5 stars and after my first and most recent experience I can certainly understand why. I was trying to get up to NH over 4th of July weekend and Greyhound only had one bus. Fortunately I stumbled across this coach line and was so excited to find out they had 5 busses across the day! The bus was really nice, clean, and updated. They even offer complimentary coffee at the Concord stop. All for $20!! Love it, and definitely will be riding again soon. read more

Need to get to NH without a car? This is your answer. Even though I have a car, the bus is usually the better option. No matter what they ALWAYS get there on time. The drivers are nice and there are always plenty of busses. The price is right too. They also have Wi-fi now but I've never used it. Also, I hear that if you take it to Maine you get snacks and a movie, they should do that on the longer NH routes too. The only thing I don't like is that they have less service to Manchester now than they used to. Luckily, Concord or North Londonderry is almost as convenient to my family as Manchester is. read more

This is definitely the best bus to take when going from Maine to Boston or vice versa because they are very dependable, on-time, and have the best drivers out there. I have gone Concord Coach plenty of times to/from Boston and have never encountered any problem or difficulty. It's nice too because they are stricter on rules and usually discourage the use of cell phones and require people to use there headsets which is nice if you want to relax/sleep. The best things about this bus lines is that they load/unload your luggage, feature movies, and the drivers keep passengers informed along the route. Most of the buses feature WiFi and the newest buses have power outlets so they have a fairly up to date bus fleet as well which is a plus. read more

Concord Coach is either a hit or a miss with me. At the actual ticket desk, only one of them (I'm not sure of his name) is consistently a positve (or as positive as it can get) experience. He's always courteous and tries to help me to the best of his ability should I need it. No matter how long the line is, there are a couple of workers who will sit down and get to you when they feel like it - which, as you can imagine, makes you want to scream when you're running late and trying to catch a bus. Most trips, there's a lot of seats - but mornings and evenings, it can be a pretty tight squeeze on a packed bus and you can be stuck in traffic for HOURS on end. Keep that in mind. As for the drivers, they're pretty versatile. They have a couple of really great, personable drivers whom I feel like are really the best part of Concord Coach. On the other hand, they have a couple of generally negative drivers who just want to put everyone else in the same mood they're in. I once got threatened to get kicked off the bus by a driver at 2pm for taking a long-distance phone call from my boyfriend who was overseas at the time. Mind you, there IS a no-phone policy and I've always respected that. However, it was 2 in the afternoon, there was 2 other people on the bus, and the bus wasn't set to leave for 15 minutes. The bus wasn't even turned on. The driver told me I had to get off the phone. I smiled and said, "Oh yeah I'm gonna be off in just a minute" - thinking it was no problem. He pointed at the "no phones" policy sign and sternly said, "Either get off the phone or get off the bus." I felt like I was a child being disciplined. Not a pleasant experience. So the bus drivers are also a hit or a miss. All-in-all, if you need to take a bus, Concord Coach wouldn't be the worst choice. read more

I am impressed with this service! I picked up on a stop only 2 miles from my home, and even with coastal stops, It was a pleasant and easy ride to Boston. I used the wifi, watched one of the movies, and I appreciate the availability of water bottles and pretzels. I will use thisbus again! This company advertises Wifi in their coaches but it never works. I've used this coach a few times. Each time it didn't work. They also didn't have working electrical outlets to charge phones. The best bus service experience I've ever had. Makes me glad to be traveling to Maine, and not to some godforsaken part of the country only "serviced" by Greyhound. Trips to Portland are very frequent. Coastal route (up Maine Rt1) and Bangor service is less frequent. They will go above and beyond to make sure you make connections, and their service is always absolutely stellar. Free movies, with free headphones, so if live action Disney's not your thing, you can read without an audio assault. Also several channels of music, though the selection's not great. But if you forget your ipod or something, it's handy. Drivers are very professional and safe, and friendly too. I take the bus up to Portland all the time, and i one time was on one with a drunk and disorderly guy. The driver pulled over, spoke to the guy, and told him he'd call the cops and wait for them to come pick him up right there on the side of the road if he let out so much as another peep. On Greyhound, that never would have happened. Concord Trailways is absolutely the best way to travel from Boston up to Maine. read more

Rode from Portland to South Station. The ride was smooth and very safe feeling. Besides the driver being obviously friendly, courteous, and competent, and driving extremely smoothly, his voice announcing the end of the ride was so slick, I thought it was a recording: I had to look to see him talking, or would have thought it was a recording. That aside, the amenities were terrific: air conditioning, two AC power outlets at every seat, movie with audio available through headphones, decent wifi (not great, but decent -- yeah!), comfortable seats, safety belts (three-point type: lap belt + chest belt). Ok so me and my family are on one their buses now going from boston to lincoln nh. I was happy when I saw all these good reviews and how nice the drivers were but so far I did not get that good experience. First of all the bus was set to leave at 8am we went out couple min before and the driver and lady taking tickets were acting crazy rushing everyone saying their late. Literally causing anxiety and actually making it more confusing. At one point the driver like "everyone on or we're leaving you!" When we got on the packed small bus it was only 8:01 so I don't understand the huge rush. So far not too impressed with this bus line. Bus itself ok other than very strong smell cleaner supplies, but the women taking tickets and esp the driver were really frantic and rude. Not a good idea to cause your passengers so much anxiety before getting on because THEY were running one min late. Hopefully ride back won't be as bad read more

Took Concord Coach one way from Bangor, ME to Boston South Station and was impressed. The Bangor bus station was clean, conveniently located near Bangor Airport and the staff was friendly and professional. They even have free coffee, bottled water, packaged snacks, and local newspapers to bring on board and make your journey more enjoyable. Onboard the bus was clean, had free wifi, power outlets, along with audio & video programming (just make sure you bring your headset). Overall a great value and pleasant journey with Concord Coach.
