The Concord Coach Lines bus was ticketed in conjunction with the Amtrak train so the timing was perfect. God, I hate driving in traffic, and it was just so nice to sit back and relax during the 2 hour drive. Wifi was OK on the way up, not so much on the way down. Glad I brought a jacket as the AC was on full blast. They showed a movie each way, so bring headphones if you want to watch year old movies on the small TV screen above.

The bus is pretty clean, air conditioner is not that cold which is awesome, the lights are great if you are reading on your way to your destination. We were told to wait for the next bus (at 9:30 pm), which would "probably" have enough seats. "Wait for the next bus" is not sound operational policy. Returning from Hyannis on July 8, the bus left 20 minutes late--which is acceptable. But then the driver dawdled and struggled at each and every stop. When the bus arrived at my terminal, it was more than an hour after the expected arrival and I needed special compensation to make my flight. I've seen P&B drivers heroically make up time before. This driver almost seemed intent on making matters worse.

This bus gets me from its first stop to Federal Street in under a half an hour, without the hassle of stopping at too many red lights, dealing with BU kids who have a state of the art fitness center yet can't be bothered to walk 100 extra feet to get to class, and people who smell like they haven't showered since the Reagan 80's. I have an extra half an hour in the morning to relax, an extra half an hour at night, and all for $30 a month extra. Well worth it. If you live within a mile of one of these express buses and you have to go downtown in the morning - this is the only way to travel. Pay the extra $30 - it will immediately improve the quality of your commute, and the quality of your life, and I stand by that statement.
