C had making it to a real apple orchard in New Hampshire on her list of must do while we were this far north. We were there in mid October and it was right at the end of the season it seemed. This place has so many treats and fresh produce to choose while you are here. Oddly enough, the best thing I got from here in my opinion was the local beef jerky! So good!! I wish I had more right now! The orchard itself was pretty cool. I'd never seen so many apples. Most of the trees were full of fruit with apples all over the ground. I guess they must yield more than they can use because the shop was full and they had open tours where you could go and pick your own apples. There were tons of varieties of trees on the farm. Lots of other produce is available here too. It appeared to be a complete working farm. The landscape was gorgeous as it's nestled on a sloping hill where you can see for miles it seems. The shopkeepers were super nice and we purchased a few things. A flight in a couple of days back home prohibited us from getting too many things. The event was highly advertised and we paid $10pp ($20 total) to drive almost 40 minutes to this event. Go up to scan our tickets and only after the lady happily scans our tickets does she inform us there are no strawberries. Sold out, none to pick, none to buy. Advertised "multiple vendors" and there were 2 vendors under tents. It was a complete ghost town. A band was playing to absolutely no one. The cows we saw were completely COVERED in flies where I couldn't even see some of their faces with the layers of flies, on top of flies covering them...they looked absolutely miserable. What a cash grab. This event should have been canceled and refunded. Being unprepared is one thing...falsely advertising it at a grand event when there was nothing and no one is a different thing all together.

All in season, all fresh. All literally fresh picked because the customer makes the selection at the tree or bush. Getting there is easy. Couple of miles off Exit 9 on I-89.and once you're in the vicinity, signs are clearly marked. The road up to the farm and the view from the farm itself affords incredible views to the North including the White Mountains. Spectacular scenery. Then there's the farm itself, a quaint and beautiful place, quite extensive, with numerous crops. We spoke to the supervisor and asked to pick blueberries. By the way, they have a large selection of harvested fruits and vegetables already at the sales kiosk for those who don't desire to partake of the picking. But we were here to spend an hour or two for the fun of it and we told the supervisor. So he took us along to apart of the farm where we were the only ones in about a 300 foot radius. There were others in several other locations in the blueberry section but we never saw them, the place is so large. He left us alone with our bucket. The blueberry bushes were gigantic and packed with ripe blueberries, beautiful, and huge. Some of the bushes had so much fruit the branches were on the ground from so much weight. It was a joy to pick so many high quality berries. We collected close to 8 lbs of blueberries and after a couple of sodas, we paid $19. We're going to have blueberry pies, muffins and blueberry Belgian waffles for some time to come. A delightful experience. Great customer service and awesome views and outstanding product.

Located right in the middle of Contoocook, the market was bustling with all types of local vendors. I spied flowers, in season veg and fruits, berries, local and organic meats (frozen), pies, cookies, jellies, jams, maple syrple, and also some local hippies playing drums and other cool African beats. Kids, ducks, dogs, (Jackie was there too!), families, and pagans, were all there enjoying the sunny hot morning and getting their supplies for the week. I hope to be back soon!!

Not only is the ice cream delicious, but there is a nice little farm stand with fresh herbs, vegetables, meat and maple syrup. The best part is the animals in the back.
