What an amazing place to come visit for and pumpkin lovers. Beautiful apple or chin with 20 plus varietals of apples to pick. The ladies. There are mega friendly and have a bakery offers seasonal favorites. We got the pumpkin whoopie pie, but we saw an amazing apple pie if you love those. They also offer cooking confectionaries like mustard, seasonings, popcorn, and a bunch of cosmetics with apple and pumpkin. There's a bar that served cider and pizza on weekends after 1:00. P.m.. We plan to return for their pumpkin pie. Try the Baldwin and Hampshire apples. read more

We had an excellent Sunday afternoon at the outdoor tables , the fall weather was perfect,live music, a lot of craft cider choices and and 1craft beer, and very good pizza. Takes a little bit to figure out the other process but after that it's good. The servers and staff are great.Highly recommend a fall after noon read more

I came here for the ice cream, but would definitely like to come back for pizza and maybe the rest of the farm. When I arrived, there was a reception of some sort happening outside and a man performing inside the main building where I got the ice cream. They have alot of interesting and good flavors. I was hoping to get a small, 2 scoops (1 coconut and 1 strawberry). I ended up with 2 small cups for each. Didn't know that coconut snowflake had choco chips with it, which I'm not a fan of. As for the strawberry supreme? That name is well deserved, I loved how flavorful it was (description said it's a mixed of a bunch of strawberries and such), would be cool to have this as a smoothie as well! read more

I actually came here for Contoocook Cider Company, but they don't have a separate Yelp page. I was visiting a friend in the area and we decided to come get some hard cider! The cider tasting area was a nice, warm room on a frigid day. They only do flights in-house, so my friend and I each got a flight of 4. We then split another flight, for a total of 6 tastes. They were serving 7 options that day, so I had all but 1. My favorites were the Cranberry (nice cranberry flavor without feeling too sweet) and the Winter Spice (warm, authentic wintery spice). My friend's fave is the ginger. There was a singer/guitarist guy that day and he was lovely. We got to sip, eat our own food that we brought from outside and listen to some sweet jams. I really liked the cider, but I wish they sold full pours - not sure if there is some regulation preventing that. I would totally come back here for cider and/or apple picking if I'm back in the fall. read more

Wanted to get some apple picking in and decided on Carter Hill Orchards. Great decision. The variety of apples was plentiful and being on a Monday it wasn't busy at all. Macoun apples are our favorite and it was a little early in the season for those but found some that were ripe enough and delicious. Galas are plentiful and are very good also, albeit on the small side! The store had a very large variety of produce, jams and jellies to choose from along with picked apples if you didn't want to pick your own. Pleasant experience and we will be back! OMG!!! The view from this farm makes the trip worthwhile! I was there mid-Nov, and while the amounts of some apples on display were low, the variety was good. I found Hubbardston apples... a true antique variety. In my former life, I lived near the town of Hubbardston, so I was thrilled. I also bought some adorable gifts and cider!! read more

We came here three times looking for apples. Every time we were impressed. The picturesque drive to the hill was memorable. And then there was the drive uphill revealing unforgettable scenery spanning all the way to the White Mountains to the North and Vermont's Green Mountains to the West. The second time we entered, they were just getting apple cider donuts out of the oven and we had a bunch and took a bunch more home. Then there's the mustard selections, amazing. Then there's fresh fruits and vegetables. I never knew there were so many varieties of garlic and the soft stem ones were just delicious in olive oil dip for breads... And then there's the apples. Three times we came for apples. The last time, in late October, we finally got the Northern Spy variety that we were recommended and which we found out was about the best for apple pie. Left us licking our fingers. We ended up picking a half a bushel. Five pies later we still have two in our deep freezer awaiting a day with family from down country.... There are several great Pick-your-own fruit places in the area. They're all good. We particularly liked this one, as it carries Northern Spy, the views are spectacular, the service friendly, and the additional selections quite diverse. read more

Apple picking here was very nice- the trees you could pick from were well marked. There is also a hard cider brewery on the premise which is what drew me in in the first place. Great cider- and a beautiful location. You can see the white mountains while you sip your cider flight. My only wish is that the country store had a bit of a larger selection. There were a few trinkets available, but I was expecting more. read more

Some of the best views, picnicking and apple picking in New Hampshire. It's located off the road between Hopkinton and Contoocook Villages, on the summit of Gould Hill. There are fine vistas to the north and east. Picnicking is encouraged. A portolet is on site. Slightly downhill from the orchard is a 200 year old barn. Inside is a store with already been picked apples, fresh hot handmade doughnuts, ice cream, cider and a nature museum. read more

This was our first trip here and we'll be making it our new regular orchard. Great views. Laid back staff who are super helpful, no security following you through the orchard (like Mack's), and great fresh baked foods. Only complaint is all their signs are tiny. Having signs on standard paper for parking, directions, and menus makes it frustrating if you're not familiar with their operations. read more

I love this place. The local apple orchard in the town I grew up in, Gould Hill Orchard is located at the top of Gould Hill, and overlooks much of Hopkinton and Contoocook. They have a wide variety of apples, and as with any actual orchard what they have for sale will be based on what is ready. Their store is located inside an old barn where you can wander around and look at the machinery, and the large bushels of apples waiting for sale. Some of the variety's a like most are McKouns, and a solid MacIntosh is fantastic, no more of this west coast, red delicious, and fuji junk. Anyway, its a great local place to visit, and I think you can pick your own, also if you like cider, holy lord try theirs. Their store has some great gift items and things like honey, rock candy and the like. Great place to go. read more

Way to disorganized. The people running the place could careless about your experience. You wait I'm line, you wait in more lines and then you finally get to the orchard and it's littered with trash and infested apples. The parking is super disorganized and the way they have you pay is absolutely a waste of time. Do yourself a favor and go to the other 100 farms. Pathetic. read more

We have visited several PYO orchards and this is our family's favorite. The apples are delicious, the very is great, and the food options inside the barn are to die for. Whether it's warm apple crisp, apple cider donuts, or ice cream- yum!! The workers are quite helpful. We have been a couple times when they offered wagon rides for the family as well. Well I loved this place. Apple Crisp and ice cream (which is only served weekends FYI) was glorious, staff were super friendly and parking wasn't a nightmare. What more could you ask for? Donut line was crazy though and we didn't wait to find out what they tasted like. We didn't actually pick the apples as we were just passing but we did get the chance to try them before we bought them. They also had an acoustic guitar player rocking out some jams in the corner which I thought was just great. Would totally go again. read more

This is our local town apple orchard. Yes, it is more expensive than Market Basket, but the apples are much fresher.

$12 for a 10lb bag of freshly picked apples! The apple cider donuts, chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin whoopie pies, and apple crisp was delicious!!!! Will be back for sure! read more

Best peaches and pies in the state!

I've been going to Gould Hill almost every year since I was a child. What a gorgeous orchard! The ownership has changed over the years, and the areas where you pick-your-own tend to change too, but you can't change the beauty this place. I was allowed to have my daughter's first birthday at the top of the orchard along the old stone wall. It was a perfect celebration, and the memories we created were so special because of the peace and beauty of the orchard. I love the Orchard Store as well. The store has changed immensely over the years. I miss the museum they used to have, and I remember when it started out simply as a few tables in the back of the giant barn. i waited in line for 20 minutes on Saturday to check out buying apples. I finally left and didn't buy anything because it was so obvious the line wasn't moving . I had armfuls of stuff that were very heavy, but it was so ridiculous that they had one check out on Saturday Columbus weekend. I went down the street to Carter Hill and checked out in1 minutes, and they were more crowed. read more
