Dr. Julie Chen is amazing. I moved to Orange County from Sacramento just over a year ago. I've had glasses since I was 7 and contacts since 7th grade. I had a great optometrist in Sac and was a little nervous about finding someone just as great, since I had gone to the same eye Dr. my whole life. Dr. Chen has been incredible! After meeting with her, I decided to embark on the journey of lasik surgery. She referred me to a great Dr. , who I found out preformed lasik on both my boyfriend and my boss! So obviously, he was a great choice:) it's been just about a year since I decided to go through with the surgery, and I love it! There were a few times after the surgery where I was concerned (I had a piece of fuzz in my eye), and she took me in the same day. Hands down the best optical office I have ever been to. Everyone is welcoming and friendly - most of all helpful. This team is accommodating. The optician was just as great. My exam went well and the optician was very informative and great. I knew I needed some glasses and the staff helped me pick out two frames and we discussed my vision insurance. Amazing service. The entire staff is super friendly. Julie and Michael were so helpful when I was in a lot of pain. I came in as a walk in for a scratched cornea (I was literally in tears), and they were able to squeeze me in for an appointment. I got great care and Julie took the time to explain the different options to me as far as treatment. I had a follow up appointment the day after the initial treatment and I had the same level of service. I wouldn't go anywhere else after my experience here. I had trouble finding the place when I parked in the garage, but Mike (who works at the front) called me right when I got there to make sure I could find the building. Dr. Chen was one of the nicest professionals I've ever met and we had a nice conversation while she performed the eye exam. I was really hesitant about coming here as I haven't been to an Optometrist in over a decade. Dr. Chen and all of her staff are superstars in customer service. They were super nice and understanding as I knew nothing about medicine in eyeballs haha. Being a new patient, I had to fill out the standard paperwork through their website, which was a pain to log into and do online as their security setting was doing its job too well. However, Dr. Chen was understanding and called me personally to make sure I was ok and able to fill out my forms ahead of the appointment. I love Dr. Chen. She is great. She is thorough. She takes great care of you. I do feel like some of the new girls could use some more training. One of the test I got the girl was having a lot of trouble with. I don't think in the end she realized she wasn't getting it right. I had a feeling she wasn't doing it right but it was confirmed when Dr. Chen did the test over and I clearly saw how the test was supposed to go. So just a little more training for the girls and they will be all set. I would def recommend Dr. Chen. read more

Dr Chen is amazing! I've had many eye doctors over the years and when my eyes were at their worst she was the only one who helped me get them back on track! She is so sweet and makes you feel so comfortable the second you sit down. I couldn't recommend her and her team anymore, if there was a 10 star option I would have chosen that. I had to have PR surgery (Lasik alternative) and she was there on the day of my surgery, and did all my post op appointments. She;s fabulous and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my eyes. I had some issues with my glasses and she is sending it to the lab just to make sure everything is okay even though it has been over 3 months. Dr. Chen is very personable and isn't just "going through a routine". She knows you, remembers you and explains the process of what she's looking/watching with your eyes specifically. She's the type of doctor that you know has your best interest in mind but also listens to how challenging or not so challenging your vision is. She's not 100% test result/action minded (unless that's what you want, I don't) and so she caters to that with me. She's a good balance between test and experience/symptoms.
