I get nose bridge pads installed into my glasses here so they don't slide down my nose and they do a good job. Sometimes it takes a bit long (a few days) but this is the only place I know that'll do it. read more

Orange County have some of the best Optimistrist here. I looked at other places for some great sunglasses to wear. Sometimes the more you invest in eye wear, it protects your eyes real well. People Optical is the place to go for glasses! The staff are courteous, friendly, patient, kind, and supremely helpful. I had problems with different pairs of glasses for years, and it turns out I just wasn't picking (or being offered) glasses that fit my face! They can call it "Asian fit" or "alternative fit," but I prefer to think of it as just great service. My nose is broad and flat. It's not broad-er or flatt-er. Compared to what? The ideal standard European/white face? I gotta say, it's nice working with one's own people, because they get it and you don't have to explain yourself and educate someone and maybe even feel apologetic or ashamed. And what they get isn't that I have an Asian face, they get that they are there to help you (anybody who goes in, no matter their ethnicity) get and wear glasses that work for YOU. You could be a Martian and People Optical will still measure your face and adjust your nose pads (if Martians have noses) so that you see right and feel comfortable. You'll be cared for at People Optical, and you won't be treated as just anybody to get glasses on and out the door. They care and they take pride in their work, which is to make you see well, look good, and feel great read more

Got a pair of glasses from Japan that had 1/2 upper frames with lower fishing wire holding the lenses in. Accidentally sat on them and snapped both the wires and the lenses popped out. Went in for a repair, and an employee, (think it was Max or Min) told me to return the next day. When I went to pick them up, he said "it was on the house". I've been "seeing" (vision pun, haha) her for a few years now to address my optical needs and she's always knowledgeable, methodical, professional and patient. Call ahead to schedule an appointment. The associates up front are also helpful and will assist with check-in, paperwork/forms and checkout processes. I appreciate this place for their selection of luxury frames, ability to upgrade lens quality (Zeiss), and their customer service. I needed a new pair of glasses and used up my exam credit for the year. I was able to get a standard eye exam for $60, get 10% off retail price on my frames (if they are over $200), and upgrade to higher quality lenses. I like that you are able to walk in and try on frames. Staff was very accommodating and not pushy. I did not find frames my first time in but they encouraged me to come back as they get additional frames frequently. I came back like 3 weeks later and found frames I liked. Turn around time with the upgraded lens was less than a week, earlier than expected. If you are looking for luxury frames and picky about lens quality, I would highly recommend this place. Keep in mind they will be out of network as they don't accept insurance. However, they are able to provide you a receipt to claim through your insurance. It may only be frame credit. It was worth it to me regardless because of the quality of both frame and lens. read more

I think I've gotten 3 pairs of lenses and a pair of prescription lenses for my sunglasses, and a pair of glasses for my daughter in the last month, plus an eye exam. Amazing selection of high end designer frames, super quick turnaround times and incredibly attentive customer service. Honest and ethical as well, they don't try to upcharge you and suggest the best options for your needs. Really nothing negative I can say about this store. Maybe the only ding is that they are out of network for insurance plans, but the service is so good that I'd rather just deal with that and pay out of pocket. I went in with a pair of glasses I've gotten from another optometry office that I needed it that I needed adjusted. I had been going to various optic shops for many years. I get a pair of new glasses and sunglasses every year or two. Like everyone else who wears glasses the optic shops are very important. There are way too many places but not a very good ones. For starters the fancy optic shops in the high end shopping malls like South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island Mall carry very expensive glass frames with nice service, but more than often you won't get the same person to help you. Usually the new hires lacking experience but with enthusiasm and friendly demeanor will try to sell you the most expensive frames they have with ridiculously overpriced glasses and over the top added features like polarized Lense, Compressed Lense, German made Lense, Anti-Scratch Lense, all additional prices. I was one of the suckers who bought into the madness of thousand dollar glasses. These shops usually close within three to five years. The People's Optical shop is located at the corner of Jeffrey and Roosevelt in the very busy shopping mall with Honey Pig restaurant and Albertsons grocery store. This place is probably one of the best optic shops all around. They have four professional optic technicians and they actually make their own lenses on site. You can definitely trust these guys to give you the very best service. How many times did I take my old glasses with stripped screws and the technician fixed it for free. All of the time. They never asked if I bought them there. Never once did they ask me to pay, not once. Now that is what I call "SERVICE ". To all my five followers: if you ever need a set of new contact lenses, glasses, sunglasses, do not hesitate, go forth to Peoples Optical Shop in Irvine and conquer! read more

I used to come to people optical because of the reasonable prices. They do not take insurance so I would bring all of my glasses to get filled here including adding nose pads to my glasses. Nose pads last year were $30-$35 and now they are charging $50. They used to charge $100 for lenses and now they are $180. Maybe I'll check them out again in the future, but for now I will not be paying over inflated prices read more

I came in just to try on some eyeglasses, and I was immediately greeted by Joon, who was very attentive and patient in helping me. They have a large selection of glasses from luxury brands (Prada, Gucci, Tom Ford, Lindberg, etc.) to Korean brands that were more affordable (Support Light). After trying on multiple pairs, I found one that I really liked. I asked about their lenses, and was pleased to find out that they have high index and blue light blocking lenses options available at an affordable price. My glasses were ready for pickup within 3 days, and when I went to pick them up, Joon helped adjust them to fit my nose and ears. He told me to give them a try for a few days and to come back for any readjustments if they weren't comfortable. I came back after a week for a readjustment since the glasses started loosen up, and they have been perfect since! They also told me that I can come back if I need my nose pads or ear pads replaced, which was included with purchasing my glasses through them. The sales people are great, the only issue is the optician. I was being polite all the time, and I am not really sure why she's trying to look like she is in a hurry even though I had an appointment, and she tries to do things fast and gives you an attitude for no reason. I understand that you might have a "busy" schedule and you only need to check the eye sights, but at least have some basic respect to another human being. I rather go to another optician for eyesight check up and give the document to sales person so that I don't have to deal with this person. read more
