Who would have thought excellent sushi in Lisbon. A great find in the city. Check it out.

Stopped at Contraria based on a friend's recommendation. It was Sunday around 8 pm & the restaurant was empty. Dinner does start later out here and it was a beautiful day. More of a casual upscale feel to the dining area. Decided to sit at the bar & ordered the Caipirinha (Brazilian Cocktail) which was recommended by my friendly bartender. It was perfect & refreshing after my long walk and exploring Lisbon. I wanted to try the food but not have a meal so it was between the Carpaccio 7 herbs or LX roll starters. My server suggested, instead, trying one of the Contraria originals-Furikake as it would pair the best with my Caipirinha. He was right. Shrimp Tempura was excellent with sauce & lime balancing the flavors nicely. I found out they also have another location at Mercado da Ribeira (Time Out Market). Service was exceptional and by the time I left a few of the tables were full.

Omakassee freestyle. The best of all flavors. So fresh and "clean" tasting.

Wonderful sushi restaurant with amazing service and decour. Sushi so fresh it swims right into your mouth. A true 5 star restaurant. Drinks to compliment any palette.

Solid sushi spot. I'll put out the disclaimer that I don't know how the sushi scene is in Portugal overall, but as someone visiting from New York and in need of a palette cleanser - this did the trick. Honestly the miso soup was great and the shrimp appetizer. The actual sashimi and sushi were okay, some pieces were good others were pretty meh. Place was trendy and price was on par for hip sushi restaurant.

This is the best sushi I've ever had in my life! We wanted to change it up for a meal in Lisbon, so we stopped in to Time Out market to find some food and decided on sushi. It was the best decision ever! I had the chef's combo, which basically gave the chef the liberty to give me 16 pieces of whatever he or she wanted. Everything I had was divine! There was a great mix of sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. There was an incredible balance of flavor and texture in everything I had, which was lovely. If you're in Lisbon and love sushi, you have to check Confraria out!

I had this for dinner tonight, and I was quite disappointed. The rolls tasted good, but the portions were a bit off. I ordered two rolls and I only got eight in total. I understand I ordered the most basic, but I felt that I could've gotten more for what I paid. I don't recommend you try this place unless you're only looking for a light meal.

Amazing sushi. We tried the lx lux tempura and the skin and seviche. The first and the last was mind blowing, soft and tender. They don't really use wasabi? Which is a little odd - but the sushi is so good that you don't care. The service was not so good. The waiter was slow in indifferent. She had to be waved over, and when we asked to see menus, she just said okay. She never got them for us, we had to get them ourselves while she was talking to other staff. That said I don't necessary think that's a general thing for their staff. There was another very quick and nice waiter.

Carpaccio with 7 spices - the best dish we ordered. About 10 euros.

I would believe it if someone told me this is the best sushi in Lisbon. The fish was super fresh but they only seemed to have 3 kinds of raw fish: salmon, tuna, and white fish. I also noticed this in Paris too. The salmon and tuna were probably the most fresh I've ever tasted. The salmon melts in your mouth. Most dishes are similar to what you can get in Japan or the US, nothing special. I would say the only dish that is unique and worth trying is the carpaccio with 7 spices. It was only 10 euros and truly felt like a fusion dish. Service was slow but good. I would get a couple dishes here and move on to another restaurant for dinner part 2 :)

It has a very modern, chic feel to it that fits in with the rest of the LX Factory area. Service was very friendly, but we definitely had to practice our Portuguese here with limited English speaking available. No problem - we're in Portugal after all. We did the "all you can eat" menu which does state is based on chef selection. I guess I didn't realize how little input we'd have - each course came out and you could tell what they were doing in the beginning - cheaper fish in massive fried rolls with lots of rice. Second portion was also entirely fried - designed to be heavy. When nicer fish like tuna started coming out - it was limited to one per person or often mixed with plenty others that were just covered in other ingredients and sauces. To their credit, if there was a piece or two we didn't like the staff did not hassle us about not finishing the plate before going to the next. Overall, I'd consider going again, but I'll probably be trying other sushi spots with similar AYCE menus before my second visit.

We loved everything that we ordered but especially the lobster roll (their take don't expect a Maine style roll), sardine nigiri, garlic shrimp (the sauce was incredible and came with bread) and the dessert. The food came out very quickly but we were having dinner at 7pm. The total for two people was around 80 euro with the discount, but we did not get drinks other than still water.

Then we ordered what felt like a silly amount of food, but we were hungry. The waiter somehow remembered it all without writingit down and then coursed it perfectly. We came to time out market when we arrived for lunch on the first day. Since we were with a large group it was perfect because everyone can order what they wanted. The ambiance is super casual, one of those food court style places. The only hard thing was finding a table that fit all of us, but when there is a will there is a way and we did it! My boss and I did a lap around the place and ordered a few things. Once we had ate them he said I still want the sushi and I encouraged him to get a few rolls so that we could share.
