We brought four friends total, hoping for a gentle afternoon to give the kids some normalcy and support. We were immediately informed there is a strict maximum of 4 guests -- and the staff member on duty refused any exception whatsoever. Of course, I couldn't ruin all the kids days so I let the kids go in. I explained I wouldn't use the pool at all, and neither would my 18 year old friend. Instead, they expected a grieving 18-year-old to single-handedly watch five kids. The alternative? Pack up and go home. When my friend provided his name, the staff member literally skipped over the page and said his sister wasn't on the list and couldn't come in until she was explained that sisters and brothers can have different last names. There was no flexibility, no empathy, and no willingness to make a reasonable accommodation for a grieving family in their own community. The irony is painful: an extra adult would have made the entire pool environment calmer for everyone. Instead, the rigid enforcement left a group of kids stressed and unwelcome in a space that should have been a small comfort, and which they had paid for. This is not a welcoming or family-friendly pool. It's a place where rules are employed without heart or common sense, and the manager explained that this was the ideal way for rules to be used. "Rules are not about compassion." Avoid unless you enjoy being treated like a number instead of a neighbor.

Warning to all: don't hire ever hire Cascade Pool Service in Glenside, PA. Several of the employees…read more are quite nice , but the owner, who identified himself only as Paul, is either the rudest and most unprofessional business owner ever or he's remarkably adept at weaseling out of financial responsibility for his company's incompetence by finding a reason to blame the customer. Long story short: we hired Glenside to close our pool last autumn, and the workers made a mistake that wound up breaking our pool pump motor. We reported it to Cascade Pools and sent pictures, as requested, at the time of the closing, but only confirmed that the mistake had broken the motor when our longtime pool guy opened the pool. It was urgent to get the pump running, so when we called Glenside and they were closed, our longtime pool person had to set up a temporary emergency fix to get it running in time for an event. Cascade Pools owner, Paul, called the next day, and oddly, quickly became defensive and incensed that someone else had helped us set up a quick fix to temporarily get it working, talking over me to hammer home that he wasn't paying for someone else's work (which I hadn't asked for) --and then, in a huff, hung up on me and refused to talk further. It's quite amazing: HIS company broke MY motor, but in the course of this brief and extremely unpleasant exchange, he shrilly demanded I explain myself, self-righteously accused me of an 'attitude' he embodied perfectly, refused to give me enough space to talk or actually listen, and then childishly hung up on me. My heart goes out to his employees; Iit must be a nightmare to work for him. In any case, Cascade Pools doesn't deserve anyone's business.

On Labor Day weekend I took my 11 year old son who has autism, with me to the Glenside Pool…read morebecause he loves to be in the water. We got there early in hopes of having an enjoyable day. Sadly, that day took a negative and very disrespectful turn for the worse due to an encounter with a older gentleman who made unnecessary derogatory comments to my autistic child, which were heard by pool goers. On this day, there was hardly anyone in the pool at the time of the incident and my son was in a small area of the pool. I was sitting on the edge of the pool watching my son when this man swam near him and started talking (I couldn't hear what he was saying) then he said loudly "Does this kid speak English?" I said "Sir my son has autism" and then he complained that he was trying to swim and he wasn't moving out of his way. So I asked my son to move towards me. The point is that this man could have easily swam around my son and or dealt with this in a more appropriate and sensitive manner. He totally embarrassed me with this unnecessary confrontation which was loud enough for others around us to hear. It tarnished my experience at the pool. This same man surprisingly did the exact same thing last year and even complained to the lifeguards that he was trying to swim and my son was in his way! I had told him then that my son had autism and he made no move to apologize for his insensitive comments and or behavior. As a resident of Cheltenham Township I do not feel that I or my disabled child, who has limited communication skills, should be subjected to unreasonable and insensitive experiences like this. If you have a special needs child, be vigilant. I complained to the Township.

Why go to the beach to do the same thing we would do at the pool? People are allowed to bring their lunches in with them. They do have a concession stand with ice cream, chips, hotdogs, pizza, and pretzels. When there is bad weather in the forecast they will shut down the pool. One time we came here and it was thundering over 10 miles away, but because we could hear it they ordered everyone out of the water. Better safe than sorry I guess. I wish adult swim was longer than 15 minutes. Some of the lifeguards do a good job making sure the kids are behaving and following the rules, while others seem hesitant to say anything. I had come here one time and a group of 5 kids was standing in front of the diving board the moment adult swim started. They just had to be first in line the moment kids swim started again. But it just seemed silly, because adult swim just started and they had 15 minutes to find something else to do. It was getting annoying having to ask them to move out of the way so adults can dive off the diving board. I notice a lot of bugs in the grass under the trees. Fleas and mosquitos. So be careful before bringing your towels and equipment back inside your home. I also want to mention the guest fees went up in price significantly in the past year. They used to be $5 now it's $10. You can only pay with CASH. So, come prepared.

There is a kids pool, which ranges from 2 feet to 3 1/2 feet. There's also a third large pool with swimming lanes, and a diving area of 11 feet. Be careful with this company…read more We switched to EVO Pools a few years ago because we needed a reliable pool service to open and close our pool. They are a local company as well and seemed reasonable the first year. Last summer, we had them open and clean the pool. They showed on time and communicated arrival. When they arrived, many of the workers (while friendly) don't speak English and so there are a few language barriers during the process. Many times the workers will just instruct to call the office to discuss any questions or next steps. So, asking them about their process or what should expect is futile. A day after they left, the pool was not clean (debris at the bottom and algae on the walls). I called and emailed and the response was that it may take a few times to clean the pool for it to be truly clean. And they would come back "for a charge" to clean it again. What?? And honestly, if I didn't pay A LOT of money to open, I wouldn't have been that upset. So, I simply remembered that I would need to add a cleaning next year and worked to get the pool clean on my own. We used them again this summer, but this time I ordered a cleaning with the opening (as a separate item to which they charged me an hourly rate). The pool reps came (same workers) opened the pool and cleaned it. They let us know that someone would be back for the full cleaning a day later. GREAT! They came back a day later (I was charged 1.5 hours) and cleaned the pool. When they left that day, there was still algae and other sediments in the pool. My husband and I thought this would be cleaned by our filter, expecting that the walls and floor were scrubbed and this is what caused the cloudiness in the water. Two days later when the water cleared, there was still algae on the walls, floors, and around the lights. I reached out to express my concern and the response was "it may take more than a few cleanings" and they were happy to come back out and CHARGE ME AGAIN!!!! It was clear that the work/scrubbing of the pool walls, around the lights, in the creases of the stairs, etc wasn't done at the cleaning. We will never use EVO again. I give them 2 stars for communication because they do quickly respond and especially quick to tell me that they would happily come out and fix the issue at MY expense. And if you have money to burn, you could just have them come out 20 times to clean your pool until it's done and ready for the summer!!
