After moving here in September 2024 from California and no 24 hour fitness in sight. I made to move to LA Fitness. I figured I would get a top facility amenities considering the big price change from 24 hour fitness. The women's restroom has always been a pigsty, dance hall is always full of dust bunnies, and no disinfectant wipes ever since I started coming. It wasn't till recently that a young lady named Shannon has changed around the women's restroom is always spot on and so it the dance hall. Shavon is not only such a pleasure to see and such a hard worker. Whatever she gets paid she needs double. Thanks again for the new addition from a paying active member. read more

Came to work out with a friend. I'm not a fan of these gyms. However, my experience wasn't bad. Parking: a busy lot inside the Green Leaf Shopping Center Atmosphere: quiet this day. I think it's because it's the holiday season. I'm sure it will be filled in the new year. Front desk check-in was easy. Someone was sitting off to the side selling gym accessories like waste belts, gloves... Clean and machines were functioning. I loved that their machines had fans! I didn't have to wipe my face much. The drink machine was broken. They have a rum where you can drop your kids off while you work out. That's nice. Overall, my first experience wasn't bad. read more

Today was literally my first time here to see if I'd want to make the switch from the gym I am currently at and the front desk associate, Demesha I believe her name is, was anything but welcoming. Nasty attitude! Who wants to be greeted by a mean spirited person their first time at an establishment? Even while asking a different employee her name, they further elaborated on how she's "a problem" and gets complaints.. which furthermore made me wonder why is she at the front desk? But I digress... the zumba class my mate and I took certainly made up for that unpleasant hospitality. Id return fasure, I'm just hoping they place someone more courteous at the front door to welcome customers. read more

I have been a member of LA Fitness Cedarbrook and now Cheltenham consistently for over 15 years. It has never been as dirty as it is now. The Abington and Ft. Washington locations that I also go to have a person cleaning all the time. The front desk workers are continuously changing and none seem interested in the upkeep of the gym. As a member you shouldn't have to go to someone to tell them the floors need cleaning. The floors are dirty and around the base of the toilets in the ladies room is are filthy. Managers should be going around checking the equipment as well and the cleanliness of the space and not waiting for members to bring it to their attention. read more

Most of the treadmills have been out of service for close to a year now. The rowing machine in the back doesn't work either. At least one piece of strength training equipment is broken every time I go there. The Wi-Fi connection is non existent. The gym is kept too warm for working out. This place is clean, BUT the staff is so unprofessional and pushy! Staff is also OUT OF SHAPE. The general manager, Tiffany, is overweight, that's a red flag right there! Tamika, also overweight, is unprofessional and always eating while talking to you. Everything is about making a sale to them, not customer service oriented at all. The staff takes personal calls while "helping" you. Truly regret signing up! They offer you and free 3 day trial, but when you come in to use it, they basically force you into signing up for full membership. Machines are so OUTDATED!! Do not recommend. 3 squat racks and 3 smith machines makes the wait very short or none at all. staff is friendly and people don't waste time on machines. Although this location doesn't have a hack squat machine, I'll let that one slide. read more

This location opened recently and all the equipment is brand new. The treadmills all have TV screens and there is a huge selection of weights. The fitness classes are varied and plenty of different time even in the weekend. I also really like the area for stretching. Only negative is that this location doesn't have a sauna, hot tub or racketball. However if you are just looking for weights or good cardio workout this place will do the trick. read more

Nose coverings for masks don't seem to be enforced for customers. Many employees unmasked at front desk and sales spots Dress code hardly enforced as I typically spot one or two customers in flip flops using weights. Treadmills are a mixed bag of not operational or tv not working. Paper towel refills are inconsistent. Definitely check out the other two LA fitnesses in the area instead. read more

I was so happy to see this LA Fitness was going to open up around the corner from my house. The equipment is good and I have never had to wait for any equipment. The hours are good, I can get my workout on before I go to work. I would like to see them add more HIIT classes to the roster. I go to another gym, however is LAF added more HIIT classes, I would go more often since they are close to my home. Great addition to the neighborhood. read more

I informed this club of my physical condition that will not allow me to use the gym for awhile. This is the option they club has given me the option to use any prepaid personal training fitness sessions within 30 days or I will loose them. This is impossible. They also said in order to reinstate the prepaid sessions I will have to allow them to continue charging for additional training sessions in order to use the sessions I've paid for. I don't recommend this club to anyone. They have taken my money and made it impossible to use what I've paid for. read more

I take issue with the false advertisement and unfair business practices of this organization. Customers beware, Esporta locations have the same branding as LA Fitness and yet they are not. It's incredibly misleading and overall disappointing. I've never felt more mishandled as a customer than I have been made to feel by this organization. This is the gym to go to. I've been to many LA Fitness gyms around Philadelphia but Cheltenham is a true example of a customer friendly gym. I had a great interaction with one of their staff, I believe her name was Artia, she knew what she was talking about & made me feel welcomed. I came there on a visitor pass but after this experience, I think I've found my new gym home. read more

Although equipment and facilities are good, the staff is friendly, and the location is convenient for me, the cleanliness of the locker-rooms and pool area is lacking. This seems to be a problem mostly on the weekends. The women's locker-room by Sunday morning is really a mess. I inquired about this at the front desk and was told that there is no cleaning staff on weekends for the women's locker-room or pool and no plans by management to hire anyone for this. This doesn't seem appropriate as it can become a hygiene issue quickly. If I don't see any improvements I will likely start looking into other options. read more

Love this location, the equipment and the folks that frequent it! Feels like a friendly space

This review is not necessarily about the club itself but more so about how I was pressured into purchasing a membership without being educated on all of my options. It was not until I went for my personal training assessment that I realized I had been bamboozled. The young lady who sold me the membership was more concerned about me purchasing and paying for my membership up front. I even explained to her that my employer offers a discount for LAFitness. She told me that if I didnt purchase direct f ty om the club I would not receive all of the perks they had to offer. She promised a t-shirt and a gym bag AND an additional 6mos of membership w/guest privileges. Once I had my personal training fitness assessment I began doing the math on what I was sold the previous day only to find there was no deal. All she did was fast talk me into membership. I did not receive the tshirt or gym bag. I have asked her several times for the items and was told they were in her car. She never went to retrieve them. I would have been fine paying the monthly gym cost instead I wound up paying close to $500 all at one time. She never once asked me what my fitness goals were nor did she have he speak with the personal trainers. Had that been done I would have went about the payment option in a completely different manner. Once I paid made payment in full , she quickly scrolled through a lot of paperwork asking for my initials. When I asked whatviscwas I was signing she told me she would print the document out once I completed signing. Well for some reason the printer wasn't working. When I went to take two guests with me to the club I was told my membership did not have guest privileges. Shame on LA Fitness if this is how you train your staff to go about getting new busy. Consumers should be fully educated on the products and services they pay their hard earned money for. This young lady is treating the sale of these memberships like a Street hussle. I'm thoroughly disgusted, upset and pissed off. read more

Love the location. The exercise equipment is really great and if you're not familiar with how to properly use it there's a trained staff and managers there to walk you through the process. They really make you feel like family. read more

Just moved to Philadelphia from New York and was excited to see there was an LA Fitness very close. I'd used LA Fitness in other cities when I traveled for work and was lot forward to having a membership... that was short- lived. Staff is great, equipment is fine, but maintenance gets an F-. I've only been there a week but there are spots on the laminate floors in the areas with machines that you can use as landmarks. The men's room is NASTY. I've seen a cleaning person hose down the showers but the floor under the urinals is disgusting... like clean the soles of your shoes when you get home disgusting. I don't think that the floors ever get mopped. What's worse is the composite floor in the free weights area which doesn't 'show' dirt. There is crud in and around every piece of equipment because I doubt that it ever gets vacuumed. And any piece of equipment that has a foot pedal is loaded with a years worth of crud. I brought this to the attention of the manager, who didn't seem to take me too seriously. If this situation doesn't improve, I will definitely be canceling my membership read more
