They were very friendly with me and helping me with finding my puppy. I ended up with a Scottish terrier. He's a moody feisty little thing, but you had to train them. I WISH someone had written the review I am about to write before I walked through the doors of this spot!! And I drove from NYC... If you are thinking about getting a dog or cat, this is the review for you! My experience of Puppies and Kittens is not a great one. What I've learned is that this place does not really care that much about their customers. It is easy to tell with their customer service. Let me walk you through it... First of all, this place does not ever pick up the phone. I am talking EVER. I understand a large chain doing that, but this is a small independent pet store. Today, I called 10 times. You can't reach anyone and their answering machine is full. They mainly text. My experience is that I texted and asked a follow-up question to my original, and they totally ignored my follow-up question, despite 10 other texts and calls. However, I felt like they were ignoring me. So, I had my friend text he was served immediately via text "sure what animal are looking to put a deposit on". They helped a new case over an existing inquiry, even though I had sent 10 messages and called 10 times. Even if it was a bit redundant or asking something similar, this is called basic customer care. I had other questions to ask! There is a sense that I am getting that Puppies and Kittens has to do a lot of coordination and deal with a lot of people having a lot of different issues. Unfortunately, that is what you signed up for. The feeling I am getting from this place is that they have figured out what to get rid of so they can operate, so they can churn out animals. That type of integrity feels dangerous when choosing where you purchase a live animal from. So, if you are looking for reliability, communication, and high level integrity, I would not recommend Puppies and Kittens. That is EVERYTHING when you go to buy an animal! Everything. Everyone else is also busy, Puppies and Kittens. Everyone else has figured out how to employ properly and answer calls and provide customer service. It feels like there is a lack of caring and proper planning and adjusting to the needs of the business, not a total inability to provide basic communication. In the rising era of businesses opening, availability of networking and communicating from a phone and possibilities expanding everywhere, we really will look to integrity. Who knows, one day a puppy and kitten store could be right next door and we remember integrity. It stays with us forever. Don't go here. They don't care. read more

Save yourself the expens, heartache and hassle by avoiding this business at all costs. We were looking for a Labradoodle puppy to add to our family this Christmas and thought we would try Connecticut Puppies and Kittens since we were visiting from out of town. We called ahead to see if they had what we were looking for and if so we wanted to make an appointment to see some puppies. We were assured they had several Labradoodle dogs and we were sent photos. We arranged a time to meet the following day. We drove nearly an hour and arrived to find there was no one at the store to meet us at the time we agreed upon. We tried calling the store and a woman answered and told us she was on her way. After waiting 30 more minutes we tried calling again and no answer. We decided we were done with this place and started to head home. Ten minutes later we get a call from someone at the store asking where we were and saying they were there to meet us. We should have kept going home but we did want to see some pups and it was a bit disappointing no one was there so we turned around. This proved to be a big mistake. They did not have any of the dogs that we were sent pictures of and were told all four of these dogs had been reserved apparently sometime in the past 24 hours. They had some small toy breed puppies that honestly looked too small to be separated from their mother. They were being bottle fed and I'm no dog expert but I would think they'd be eating regular dog food when it was time to put them up for sale. We were shown some poodles and a golden retriever puppy. The golden had a runny eye that was half shut and just didn't look good. We were about to leave when we were told that if we could stay for 30 mins someone would be bringing in some new dogs and there would be a labradoodle among these pups. After waiting about 30 minutes someone did show up with 6 puppies but none were what we wanted. Two husky pups were brought in looking just filthy like they'd been out in the mud. We asked about the pups origins and were told that they all have paperwork from top breeders around the us and some dogs are shipped over from Europe. This seemed highly suspicious seeing the condition of the puppies who'd just arrived. It just broke our hearts seeing these dirty dogs. We got a very bad feeling about this place and left. We will be filing complaints with the BBB and animal welfare. I don't know how this business is allowed to operate as it seemed far from professional or like they even cared about these dogs. Seems like they are just out to make a buck and I would not recommend anyone buy a dog here. read more

What a fabulous experience Connecticut puppies and kittens is a wonderful place to buy an animal. The woman who helped me I'm sorry I don't remember her name was wonderful and when I came in asked what I was looking for and we talked a bit about my life with cats and my current cats. Then I was brought three absolutely adorable kittens was given the price for each and had the opportunity to sit and play with them and pet them and watch them under no pressure whatsoever. The purchase went smoothly. I was given all information necessary the tea registration forms the breeders name my kittens, mother and father names and all his health information. And the cherry on the top was I brought him to my vet today for his final round of vaccines and I was told he is perfect in every way!! . read more

I'm looking to buy a Russian blue kitten. I found this place and sent a text explaining it is almost a 3 hour drive, and would like to know upfront pricing and availability. They told me every single kitten is priced differently, so I responded with a picture of a Russian blue asking for a price estimate. They didn't respond for a full day so I asked again and finally I got a response saying they start at $1400 and I could do a payment plan of "approximately $100 a month". They also told me the animals are healthy, extremely well socialized, and affectionate. As well as "amazing staff" who "can answer all your questions and make sure they give you the best possible price on whichever you fall in love with" I finally found time to go there today and before I left I asked if the Russian blues were still available. Reiterating it would be a 2 hour drive and they told me yes several. I show up they asked me my name, phone number, where I'm from, and how long I drove to get there? Then they bring out 3 Russian blues. 1 of which loves to play, 1 who was hiding under the chair the whole time, and 1 who literally escaped and was climbing out trying to get out the whole time. I did bond with the one who was trying to get out (he seemed very stressed and anxious at first and his heart was beating very fast) The whole time no one came to ask if we had any questions and we had to wait around in between each question after asking multiple times for someone's attention. We got a final price of $4385.75. He also explained it was such a high price because they're so hypoallergenic... ok. First of all insane price for a Russian blue that at most will go for $1000 less than that, I don't know if they think I'm willing to pay an extra $1000 because they know how far I drove for it?? I've seen people review with similar experiences. Overall huge waste of time and wouldn't recommend. read more

Looking into trusted breeders. Some of the animals in there did not look OK. most breeders do genetic testing.

buyer beware drove four told the cat I wanted $1000 when I got there not one of them cats online they brought out and not one of them. Cats were nowhere near there for hours trying to figure out something up paying $5900 for a blue Russian cat for my daughter who is very upset and wanted the cat. They falsely advertise not one of them animals are in their center. They told me $1000 not one of them animals in that center is $1000 in order to get results. We have to report them to the BBB or consumer review. I was highly overcharged for this one little kitten bunch of dirt balls. read more
