Since I arrived close to closing time and didn't have an appointment, she let me know they would run diagnostics on my laptop the following day. There's an $89 diagnostic fee, and if repairs are needed, part of the $89 fee can be used towards the cost, which felt reasonable. The next day, Martin called to let me know there was no damage and that he had cleaned the affected keys. He explained that my laptop passed all tests, but the battery was consumed. When I wasn't sure what that meant, he patiently explained and advised that since the battery wasn't swelling and the computer was still performing well, there was no need to replace it unless I noticed issues. I really appreciated that he took the time to explain everything and didn't try to upsell me. I was able to pick up my laptop later that same day which was less than 24 hours after dropping it off. I highly recommend Di-No for honest and fast service!

Michael helped me reinstall the network drivers and patiently checked every possible cause of the problem. When none of it seemed to work, he told me there was no charge for his time. But when I got home and turned the laptop back on, it automatically connected to the internet! It turned out everything Michael had done had worked, the laptop just needed one more restart. I went back to Computer Plus wanting to pay him, but Michael refused to accept any payment. He said he had only spent about 10 minutes reinstalling the drivers and didn't think it was fair to charge me. How can someone be so kind? I called Jack and lucky for me he said to come over in a couple of hours. He has a nice, bright office next to his house, not far from the freeway exit for Trader Joe's. He's so easy to work with--smart, personable and clear. He knew exactly what needed to be done. I have a backup service, but having done a backup install before, I knew that would take days. Jack took care of everything and had my laptop back to me that same day. There is nothing like the security of knowing your computer is only in the hands of one trustworthy person instead of sitting in a backroom, handed off to someone you've never spoken to. Also, Jack is an authorized Apple tech and his fees are fair. He also helped me choose the right router (I was about to buy something I would have regretted). I have told all my Mac friends about him so I thought I should get around to posting here. Two things you should know: 1) Be sure to call first, he only sees people by appointment and 2) He takes cash and checks, no credit cards. If you have a Mac, this is your guy.

So my laptop was crashing on me like every hour or so. First, I took it to Best Buy to have their Geek Squad take a look at it because I've had laptop problems fixed there before, but the Squad guy there told me that my problem sounded like a hardware fix and they don't check hardware in store. I would have to pay $85 to have it shipped and then they would automatically start fixing it (without consulting me if I wanted the fix) then charge me for it. I said thanks but no thanks, and he understandingly smiled and said no problem. So from there, I figured I would look up computer repair places on yelp. That's how I found out about this place. And WOW, his reviews were really generous, so I figured I would have to check it out. At first, I wasn't sure what to expect, reviews are helpful and all, but without my own firsthand experience, there's always a little hesitation, but I called, and he wasn't in, so I left a message, and not too long after he called back, and we set up an appointment to meet up. I went to drop off my laptop and met him in person at his own home. He was really nice to me and showed me to his work station. He told me that it was probably either a RAM issue or a motherboard issue, and he told me what the implications of each would be. That was on Friday in the evening. He said he'd finish his stress tests on Saturday most likely and that he'll give me a call around 3 in the afternoon. He called and said that the RAM was fine, and it was probably a motherboard issue, but that he was still conducting the tests on that. Then he said that he doesn't normally work on Sundays, but that, if the tests took him too long, he would be willing to wrap everything up on Sunday. I thought, cool, he's willing to carve some of his own free time out for his customers, a stand up guy. We sync up and I pick my laptop up from him and he says that it's definitely a motherboard failure and that it wouldn't be worth it to have him replace it. I was entering the market for a new laptop. I told him that was fine and thanked him for his work. This is where he becomes really awesome: I ask him how much it will cost, and he says, don't worry about it, a check up is free. Then I offered to at least give him some gratuity, but he says, thanks, but just write me a review. So, here I am telling you about Tony and what a great guy he is. Now I haven't read all of his reviews, but I figure mine comes from at least a somewhat unique perspective because my problem wasn't something he could really fix, but he was honest about it and was generous with his time. Hopefully, I don't need his help any time soon, but I know that if I have computer issues in the future, he's the guy I'll go to. read more

Finding an honest computer technician is like finding an honest mechanic. There's just not that many around. Fortunately for those of us that live around Pasadena, we have Tony. Tony provided excellent service to me when I took my old netbook to him to repair. Before calling him, I also contacted several computer repair shops around my home. Everyone of the shops required 50 dollars just to take a look at my netbook without guaranteeing that it will be fixed. Tony on the other hand, acknowledged that the cost to repair a netbook often outweigh the price of the netbook itself. So he offered to diagnose whether my netbook was suffering from a cheap malfunction (bad ram or dying hard drive) for FREE! After running tests he found out the most likely culprit to be my netbook's motherboard, a rather expensive repair. Tony could've easily lied to me and said it was my ram or hard drive that was causing the errors on my netbook. But instead he gave me an honest opinion to what the most likely problem to my netbook was and recommended me to buy a new netbook instead. I would recommend Tony to anyone that's not computer savvy cause he will definitely not try to rip you off. read more

Tony has been a great help to me for the last couple of years. The first time I used him, it was a random pick from the internet by selecting him because I was desperate and he was local. I thought I'll try him out because he seemed nice on the phone when I called. His prices were reasonable too. We had kids using our home computer continuously and it was LOADED with viruses. Tony took as much data as he could from the computer and saved us. He did the same with my laptop. I knew the laptop was about to die because it was old and he saved what I believe to be at least 95% of my data. I ended up needing to get a new laptop anyway, but at least I had my data. He always also gives me great basic information to learn from as well. He is always available in urgent situations. Fast, reliable, helpful, no attitude and even installs upgraded software to benefit the overall health of the computer. He didn't even charge me for my latest issue ! I recommend him to everyone!! If you ever RMA a laptop, you know that it can take up to 3 months to see your computer again. With Tony, I had my hard drive replaced, complimentary anti-virus installed and microsoft updates good to go in less than 24 hours. Throughout the whole process, Tony texted me updates, which made me know my laptop was in hands of a considerate professional. Not only that, I liked how Tony had spare parts on hand, salvaged my data and offered advice on avoiding another trip to the computer repair shop. Once you walked into Tony's office, you'll be glad you didn't go somewhere else. This guy doesn't dabble in electronics; Tony's work space is filled with computers. As stated by all the reviews here, Tony is a pro. The cost wasn't bad at all. $65 bucks for the replacement hard disk and $150 for labor. Even if you happen to find a cheaper place, I recommend that you still go to Tony because the service is just that superb. read more

When something physically goes wrong with your body, you want a reliable doctor who is competent, available, and able to "fix" the problem. For most of us, when a computer crashes, our lives come to a stand still. And the amount of down time can be critical. Tony is like an Emergency Room physician when my computer(s) crash. He always finds time to get to the problem, and get it fixed expediently, and at reasonable rates. I really appreciated Tony's help. My computer was attacked by a Trojan virus and I had taken it to a different repair person so he return my tower and said the virus was gone and it had deleted all my 1,000+ pictures and important documents. I found Tony on Yelp and I told him the situation over the phone. He told me what he was almost sure he could recover everything. Sure enough drop off the tower in the am picked it up in the evening and EVERYTHING was there. I was so thankful that I was able to find him here on Yelp. He saved all my pictures!!! One of the keys fell off of my son's Dell laptop. I came across Connectionz on Yelp and left Tony a voicemail. He called me back right away and told me it would cost me $10 and I could either drop it off or just wait for 30 minutes, tops. I had brought my laptop to a repair company closer to my neighborhood and after 2 months of them holding onto it claiming they had to "special order a rare part" I took it back and brought it to Tony. He determined that there wasn't even anything wrong with it, we were just using a faulty power cord. He didn't charge me because he didn't work on it. A five star rating isn't enough. There should be a special catagory with (6) stars for Tony! My computer had a dead hard drive and I stupidly didn't back up anything. Tony put in lots of time and effort to save my data and install a new (much bigger, better) hard drive. He turned it around in a day and all at a really good price. I had a deadline, and my laptop was pretty closely to crashing, as it turned out. Tony diagnosed the situation, essentially talked me out of more expensive alternative remedies, perfectly cloned the C drive onto a new disk, and had it back in my hands the next evening, despite the large amount of data and software involved. My laptop had gotten so slow and unpredictable, I was sure I had a virus or trojan. And my inbox was loaded with spam after years of spamless e-mailing. Tony ran a virus check, and while there were two low-level viruses, the poor old hard drive was simply worn out. I searched online and tried all the suggested fixes from people who had experienced the same problem, but nothing worked. I walked into Computer Plus in the afternoon without an appointment. Michael helped me reinstall the network drivers and patiently checked every possible cause of the problem. When none of it seemed to work, he told me there was no charge for his time. But when I got home and turned the laptop back on, it automatically connected to the internet! It turned out everything Michael had done had worked, the laptop just needed one more restart. I went back to Computer Plus wanting to pay him, but Michael refused to accept any payment. He said he had only spent about 10 minutes reinstalling the drivers and didn't think it was fair to charge me. How can someone be so kind? It's rare to come across this level of honesty and generosity these days. I highly recommend Computer Plus to anyone having IT-related issues, including businesses.

I called Jack and lucky for me he said to come over in a couple of hours. He has a nice, bright office next to his house, not far from the freeway exit for Trader Joe's. He's so easy to work with--smart, personable and clear. He knew exactly what needed to be done. I have a backup service, but having done a backup install before, I knew that would take days. Jack took care of everything and had my laptop back to me that same day. There is nothing like the security of knowing your computer is only in the hands of one trustworthy person instead of sitting in a backroom, handed off to someone you've never spoken to. Also, Jack is an authorized Apple tech and his fees are fair. He also helped me choose the right router (I was about to buy something I would have regretted). I have told all my Mac friends about him so I thought I should get around to posting here. Two things you should know: 1) Be sure to call first, he only sees people by appointment and 2) He takes cash and checks, no credit cards. If you have a Mac, this is your guy.

The computer turned on, but couldn't go past the blue screen asking for the recovery key or it showed an ongoing system update that never ended. My husband and I tried everything we could on the internet and decided to go to Andrew for assistance.
