There were some people there, either in the main waiting room or walking through the separate pet areas... wasn't too busy. Was greeted by staff behind the counter and I told them I wanted to look at some cats. They have you fill out some paperwork, mainly about what you're looking for and what your home environment is like (senior cat, kittens, other pets at home, kids at home, etc) to help them in finding an appropriate cat for you. You wait for a bit so they can find a staff member to walk through the cattels with you. You get to meet them, and pick some up in some instances. I deliberated because I intended to get a senior cat, but many of them had behavioral or extra medical problems. I ended up getting a disgustingly cute and impossibly smol brother and sister, and they've been wonderful. It may not be the cheapest, depending on which pet you want to take home, but obviously that cost goes into the program and really, can you put a price on a new family member?

Leslie Minton who runs Puppy Love is very attentive to each dog's behavior and needs. She supervises their play and activities insuring a safe, fun, anxiety free experience. Sandra, the owner, is the best - She takes my big dog for a 2 hr adventure with other dogs that she matches accordingly. He always returns happy and healthy. When he sees her car pull up, he runs to the door wagging his tail and very excited. Sandra is very professionally and extremely caring for the dogs. I have left him with her for a short vacation and have come back to a perfect dog and home. She also posts great pics of the dogs on their walks so you can see the fun they are having with the group. **Absolutely amazing experience with Mutty Paws Academy!**…read more We were in a bit of a pinch while vacationing in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. The boarding kennels we normally trust back home in NH were completely booked, so we decided to bring our dog, Moose, with us and find a doggie daycare where he could stay while we visited some of the attractions that weren't dog-friendly. I found Mutty Paws Academy on Google and called to explain our situation. From the very beginning, they were incredibly kind, understanding, and accommodating. Even though we were tourists from out of town, they were willing to welcome Moose into their daycare program and work with our vacation schedule. Then, because apparently our vacation needed one more plot twist , Moose got sprayed by a skunk the night before his first day! I called Mutty Paws expecting that we would have to cancel, but instead they were so understanding. They told us that if we gave him a good bath at the Petco Self Wash, they would still take him. They even allowed us to drop him off later than normal so we had time to get him cleaned up. Because of the smell, he had to spend his first day doing daycare solo, which they were completely fine with. And they went above and beyond by giving him **another bath at no charge**! The next day, Moose still had a little bit of that lovely skunk smell lingering , so I assumed he would have another solo day. But the staff evaluated him and decided he was good to play with the other dogs. He seemed to absolutely LOVE it! When we brought him in for his second day of daycare , he was happy to go in and he returned tired and content. We had also scheduled him for a third day, but after everything we had already spent replacing things, doing endless laundry, bathing the dog, and ultimately upgrading from our tent to a cabin because of the skunk disaster, we decided we didn't need the third day. I called that morning to cancel, and once again, they were incredibly understanding and **didn't charge us a cancellation fee**, even though it was last minute. I honestly can't say enough good things about Mutty Paws Academy. They were flexible, compassionate, accommodating, and clearly cared about making sure Moose was comfortable and happy. They turned what could have been a very stressful situation into something we could actually laugh about. If you're visiting the Old Orchard Beach area and need a safe, caring place for your dog, I **highly recommend Mutty Paws Academy!** We are so grateful they were willing to help us out, especially after our unexpected skunk encounter. Moose definitely gives them two paws up!
