I met Connie from my Dad, who knows her from the casino. He has been wanting to drive into Blair to check out her donuts and pastries. She did not disappoint. We got a variety of just about everything. 2 dozen! The apple fritters were huge. I cut them in half and it is plenty. Even the cinnamon roll I should have cut in half but it was so good. This has been a wonderful bakery since I first come to Blair in 1978. The donuts are fresh, made daily and taste fantastic.

the real question is HOW am i just now trying these heavenly donuts!?! i was clearly out of the loop when it came to the rave for Connie's donuts but man... they definitely lived up to the hype. Credit to my sister Ravyn for the store photos -- but by 7 am the chocolate was already sold out!? if that doesn't say they're filled with gold i don't know what will. They are soft, decadent, sweet but not overly or to the point where you'd get a headache, have just enough glaze to send dopamine down your bloodstream fresh every morning and worth the drive AND the calories couldn't rave more about this place!!! Visited this local bakery when in town with work. Totally appreciate that everything here is homemade! The minute you walk in, the smell is just amazing - I wish I had a candle of the fresh baked smell! The owner was friendly and explained all the items to us. Great prices and delicious doughnuts! We came here on a Thursday from Elkhorn to explore the Blair area and our first stop was this bakery that EVERYONE from Blair has been telling us to go to. Very much a small town doughnut shop including regular patrons who were known by name, cash only purchasing, and decorations that looked like they came straight from your Grandma's house. The interior is really tight and while there's one table, you really feel like you can't sit there because the space is so jam packed. We ended up eating the doughnuts in our car. They tasted fresh, flavorful, and just the right amount of softness/airiness. Prices weren't listed (I heard they charge however they feel) but our first batch of doughnuts was only $12 and then the second time we came in it was about $6 so I'm going to venture to say they were maybe $2 each? Overall, would definitely stop in the next time we're in town but would not necessarily make a special trip for them. read more

Overall I am really glad we made the trip up from Omaha to finally try these doughnuts. The best part of the experience is the charm in the atmosphere inside. Most of the donuts are on trays or in baking dishes in the glass case, and the entire interior decor reminds me of my grandma's house times 100. There are so many knickknacks and cookie jars and roosters everywhere but it has a very homey feel. We loved the local color here. There's a small table inside for communal seating, and a roll of paper towels on the table. The flavor of the donuts was great, but we did feel they were on the greasy side. The apple fritter was enormous but was also oily on the bottom. The glazed donut which I thought was only a little greasy was still warm like a Krispy Kreme doughnut, but not as sickeningly sweet. They only take cash or checks, so remember to bring some with you. And we were told they sell out fast, so we did call ahead and have them set aside a couple donuts for us since we had a longer trip up. read more

Stopped here this last weekend when I was spending the fourth with my sister, brother-in-law and their kids. It has a small town feel with the local farmers sitting around drinking coffee. That's the highest praise a small place in the Midwest can get. If you can get the farmers there, you've got steady customers. The donuts were delicious and huge. Man! I love donuts! So finding a good donut shop when I moved to Blair a couple months ago was important. Grocery stores are ok and usually satisfy the need but then I found this bakery. Thank you, Jesus!! The donuts here are fresh, large, and priced well. Connie is wonderful. She is always there with a smile and is very helpful. I loved the glazed twists, the white creme filled, and the raised sprinkled varieties. Connie makes cookies too but I haven't sampled them yet. The locals seem to love the place as well and there are usually 1-5 guys sitting around the inside table, shooting the sh!t, and drinking coffee. I like that kind of vibe. Went there on a Saturday, around 8:00 a.m., and there were at least a dozen people in line on the sidewalk to get inside. The bakery is small and only 3-4 people can 'stand' in line but no one seems to mind the wait. You need to try this place or keep going there. Throw an extra dollar or two in the jar to ensure this place continues to serve us years from now. read more

Passing through Blair early Saturday morning, my boyfriend mentioned this bakery he went to as a kid "known for the best donuts in town". I knew we had to stop. We ordered a variety of donuts from powdered to glazed to cream filled and two flavors of kolaches. I sampled both the glazed and powdered donuts and both were excellent (powdered was my favorite.)
