I haven't had mangia's for a few years but getting it for catering, I remembered why I love it so much! They've got a great variety of pastas that you can choose from. Personally, a mix of the meatballs with red sauce and the tortellini with Alfredo is my favorite plate, but the lasagna was also quite tasty. The rolls are something I think about often, without societal pressure, I would have about 4 of these at once (and on occasion I've put that to the test). Best pasta place in omaha 100% local and has been here long time so is a must place to support! Service is at the counter have a love hate relationship with that since I had to wait over 10 mins to pick up my food because other people in front of me were ordering to stay but nothing major. Wow!! Very satisfied with this restaurant!! Small mom & pop feeling! Clean inside and fast service! You order at the front counter and seat yourself which I do not think is a big deal at all. Welcomed at the door and had a server at your table. Our server today was Angelo, he was wonderful!! Extremely attentive couldn't have asked for a better server. The food was great! Zero complaints. After completing 75 Hard, my first stop was to Mangia. Their food is SO good, and it's also a little nostalgic for me because I've been going here with my family for quite some time. The pizza here is truly good! I've been here so many times, even back in high school many, many years ago (we won't say when). It's definitely an Omaha institution, and anything I've had here has been great. Most recently, upon suggestions from this app, we tried the super buffalo chicken pizza. I read one review that said it was the best pizza someone's had, so we were excited to try it. I can confirm, it is an amazing pizza! The cream cheese and jalapeño addition to the buffalo chicken was perfect!! This is the perfect pizza for a football game. The crust could be a little crispier ideally, but that's not necessarily something I'd rate down for. The online ordering process is easy, and they kept me well informed about the timing for pick up. I must have ordered at a busy time (Friday evening) because they sent an email saying the pizza wouldn't be ready by the time they said it would and to hold off picking up. I liked that since I didn't have to wait around a long time once I arrived for it. We also tried the cannoli (vanilla), and oh my word, it was the best I've had. I'm always on the hunt for a good gluten free pizza, and this place nailed it. I knew they were famous for their pizzas, but who knew that the gluten free crust would be so amazing! It was sturdy, crispy, chewy, and soft. It did not fall apart or get too soggy. The bottom of the crust was delightfully crispy. The gluten free crust only comes in 10", but that's okay, because then I get the whole thing to myself. The cheese was fresh and the sauce was full-flavored. I used to work down the road from this restaurant. It was a go to for my coworkers and I for lunch. They used to have a phenomenal lunch special, unfortunately they have had to raise their prices but it's still reasonable. The staff is always friendly and attentive and the inside has some cozy seating and they have a lovely outdoor patio. First time there. The moment we walked in, staff welcomed wife and I like family, even brought out some samplers of the homemade sauces and fresh bread for us to try at our table. The ambience was small family owned place where the kitchen is probably bigger than the seating area. It was absolutely wonderful. The food is authentic and made from scratch by cooks who actually actually care. We have told so many friends about this in Iowa that it's crazy. Had an fabulous take out experience! We had three large pizzas, for a Saturday evening get together, and its really hard to pick a favorite. We had the taco, buffalo chicken, and supreme. I LOVE how diced and fine the beef is, it is so good and the marinara, to die for, it is SO delicious. We got the cheese bread just so I can dip the bread to my hearts content in the sauce. Order online to avoid holding on phone, and schedule ahead if possible. Orders are always ready on time, packaged perfectly, and hot and ready! Some of my favorite dishes are the fried raviolis, marinated chicken salad, tortellini alfredo, Hawaiian pizza, and can't forget the parmesan rolls! i also love that they will do half/half pizzas with their specialties - this time we did a half combo/half Hawaiian, so everyone was happy! We've had catering sized portions of pasta for events, I've gone for soup and a slice with coworkers on my lunch break, I've picked up pizza for my family... you name it and they do it. I love the garlic Parmesan rolls, meatballs, 4 pepper Italian sausage soup and carne pizza. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the dine in hours... you can only eat in for lunch Tuesday - Friday. My parents came to town this weekend and one thing my dad LOVES after a day of travel is pizza. We chose Mangia because of the raving reviews and the fact that they had thin crust (which is typically the only request in my household). We ordered the supreme and the Garden pesto chicken for takeout and MAN IT WAS GOOD. My parents could not stop talking about it and that's saying a lot. The one complaint was that the crust could have been crispier but we did have a 20 minute drive home so it could have been due to steam in the box, not a fair judgement. It did take a while about 55-65 minutes after we ordered, and they do charge a fee for credit cards. But overall would absolutely make the trip out again, great pizza, family owned, tons of options- what more could you want? read more
