Forget Dairy Queen and their high prices Dairy Den in Missouri Valley Iowa has delicious ice cream at a fantastic price. We had 2 small cups and it only came to $4.95!! Good size portions! The pup cup (that came with a bone) was also a good size. Make them your ice cream go to! read more

Fresh, to-order fries. Can't beat 'em. Worth the calories. Take home the Dole fruit sherbet! Yummy frozen treats. Friendly, fast service. Drive through or pull over and eat in the shade. Holy Cheese Curds. Off the interstate in Missouri Valley, surrounded by the standard fast food joints is this little slice of heaven. Perhaps, more accurately this mid-size curd (cheese) of heaven!!! The loose meat sandwich was insanely huge and while I would have liked less meat and more toppings, it was still very good. On a Sunday evening, the place was steadily busy and they have nice outdoor seating area for these Covid times. You can order from the window or drive thru -- prices are so cheap and I would drive an hour for those cheese curds. read more

Twin Bing with Cherry ice cream Tornado. Cherry Dole Cone. Kit Kat Tornado. All this for $12.08. We have heard good things about this place and have seen it every time we are in MoValley but today was the day we gave it a try. It was well worth the Sunday drive. The Twin Bing lived up to the hype. The cherry Dole was pretty and tasty. It was not super sweet and we really liked that. I've stopped here a few times over the years and every time, their malts are pretty awesome. My most recent visit, I got the chocolate malt and it was great as usual. they had a really good chicken tenders lunch special that was oh so tempting for cheap too! This is a staple IMO so I hope it doesn't go anywhere any time soon. read more

I spend far more money here than I should, but they have a great menu and have become my go-to spot for sandwiches, appetizers, and ice cream. Everything made to order, the way you want it, and with a surprisingly large menu. Lots of things to keep going back to try. Popular spot with the locals. read more

Jim and Sue do a great job at the Dairy Den! It's a hard one. Darrell had it for 27 years, but kept it in the family when sold! Jim and Sue have good food there! The service there is good and I've had bad. I think mostly just kids that haven't worked w the public much . Good old Dairy Den read more

Nothing beats a hometown ice cream shop! It's just not summer without a cherry pepsi, cheese balls or a shake! Love seeing all the traffic but wish the drive thru could be optimized. Maybe take orders on west side and drive around to East pickup window? Looks like there's a few utilities that may stop this idea but maybe there's a way still? Seems dangerous to have cars go out into traffic in order to pull back in. read more

We love stopping by this place every time I go back home to visit family. They have every ice cream flavor item you could think of. I always get the Twin Bing tornado, I personally recommend EXTRA candy for $.75. You will not be disappointed! Their cheese curds are top notch as is their fish strips. Everything we have had has been freshly prepared and perfect! We highly recommend this, just east of the Missouri valley exit! read more

The ice cream is wonderful. Only the last several times we ordered tornadoes and they were only blended half way through with very little candy in them. Funny thing is we paid more for extra candy and gave them a pretty nice tip. Very disappointed considering we drove 30 minutes to have a twin bing tornado and only getting vanilla ice cream with a little flavoring and a teaspoon of candy. Hopefully they will improve the mixing and adding. It would be nice to get what you pay for. read more

What a nice family-friendly shop! Food and ice cream are both great here. It's nice to see the new owners are not just keeping it in good shape but improving it. Paving the lot and making it easy to spend leisure time there at the picnic tables is nice. We stop here anytime we're in the area. read more

I have only been to Dairy Den once... but it has claimed my every waking thought ever since. The creamy ice cream... the smiling faces... did I mention THE ICE CREAM!?!?!? You will never be the same after coming here. I really wouldn't be surprised if Dairy Den was placed on this earth by god himself... As I took my first bite I swear I could hear the angels singing and I felt the peace you cannot describe. Often nights I wake from a fitful slumber in a cold sweat. "Dairy Den... Stopped here on our Jeepin Sunday cruise and got some ice cream which tasted delicious. The Reese's tornado and banana split were so yummy. Not too excited that the kid didn't know how to give change and assumed and held back a few bucks saying this is my tip right?!? Was kind of a turnoff but oh well. Be prepared to never be given the opportunity to order unless you're a teenager. I stood and waited...and waited...and waited. No matter which window I moved to, apparently it was always the wrong one, as just then, a teenager would inevitably show up at the opposite window and get waited on! read more

Made a quick stop at Dairy Den on our way back from the Women's wold cup in Winnipeg, ice cream was good but nothing special and the cheese balls were great. The home spun atmosphere was a great way to break up the trip and support local business. read more

My wife grew up in the Valley and we had to make a stop at the Dairy Den for a loose meat and cheese balls. They did not disappoint. I took my boys back 3 times for ice cream and it was always really good. I always support family business and when we are back in MV we will surely be back. Wish Las Vegas had a Dairy Den. read more

I informed our waitress of the errors and that the Patty Melt was cold. The table across from us got up and walked out. After several minutes, the other waitress came by and asked if we still wanted the Philly or Patty Melt. We said "No". They comped our meal which is why they get an additional star. That was just absurd. 30+ minutes for a malt?! An hour and 20 minutes after sitting down (50 minutes after ordering) to get about half of what we ordered?! And to mix up 2 tables orders that ordered nearly half an hour apart? What in the name of hot messes everywhere is going on at this diner?! I left a $20 tip to cover the malts, which were actually pretty good, and ($6 each I was told), and for the attempts at service.
