Full order of biscuits & gravy with a side of hashbrowns
    Megan P.

I love eating local and this place is definitely a local hidden gem. It's an open dining room and the seats are spaced out. 1 employee was waiting, serving, busing tables, and working the register and she did it with ease! Including us there were about 25 people dining and everyone was well cared for and she made sure your coffee cup was always full. I wish I knew her name to call it out in here, very impressive! Especially since we had eaten at Denny's the day prior and their service was terrible. The menu has lots of options and very reasonably priced. You can get a lot of food for the money. I ordered a full order of biscuits and gravy which was 4 biscuits with a pepper country gravy, a side of hash browns, and VERY good chocolate milk. My son loves "cheesy eggs" so I asked if they could put cheese on his scrambled eggs and they did! It wasn't the shredded cheese he's used to (more like a slice of American cheese) however I was very impressed they accommodated and he enjoyed it. :) Definitely recommend this establishment if you're passing through. We were in French Lick for the weekend and made the drive to support local. Do the same if you get the chance!

Very good prices - the biscuits and gravy only went up ten cents in the last two years. Nice waitress. Good food. Just a good quality country diner, like you'd expect. No surprises.

My family came to French Lick and were surprised that there isn't really much for dining choices. We decided to venture to Paoli for a breakfast spot on our way out of town. We could not have been more pleasantly surprised! Connie's prices are very reasonable. This is a local place and not a chain and it shows in the food. I got a little something of everything. Scrambled eggs, sausage patties, toast, bacon, and home fries. It was all delicious. You really can't go wrong with traditional breakfast choices here. My wife and son got biscuits and gravy. It's not a sausage gravy if you are looking for that. I tried some and the Bs and Gs are good as well. Very peppery gravy (which I like). The service was also great. Very friendly staff. There was just one server for a packed dining room and she rocked it!

Parking is plenty. But this place is busy on Fridays. It is highly revered by the community and they love the all you can eat fish nights on Fridays! Tonight I got an order of onion rings as an appetizer. These came with a choice of zesty sauce or ranch. The batter on the rings was thin but very well seasoned. These baby's were delicious! The server got these right out of the fryer and they were hot. The dipping sauces were a great addition and bother were very tasty and compliments the rings. My entree was a hand breaded tenderloin. Again, the breading was well seasoned and the tenderloin was a good thickness. It came with all the trimmings which were fresh. One thing to note was the lettuce was cold and crisp...this is a huge plus with me. The side dish for the tenderloin were potato slabs. These slabs were like a fried potato thickness but were very lightly breaded. I'd not had anything like these before. I wasn't a real fan of these things but they were different. Just not my thing. I think they have a way to go to get a 5th star from me but it is a very solid 4 stars. I can't wait to go back and try their burger. Over all this place didn't disappoint. It was a great find which I will revisit soon.

Everything we ordered was wonderful. I got the Breaded Pork Tenderloin and fries (which is what they are known for and why we went there in the first place), and it was quite possibly the best one I've ever had. My mom got a Philly Cheesesteak and onion rings, both of which were excellent. We also both got desert and meatloaf dinners to take home, and while we haven't eaten those yet, they look great and smell divine! If you get anything dippable, don't miss out on their homemade ranch dipping sauce (thanks for the tip, Annabelle!), you'll thank me later! Super fun railroad decor throughout (as you might have guessed from the name). We thought everything was very readonably priced, especially with the portion sizes (our bill was right around $75 for FOUR meals, 2 drinks, and 2 deserts). We'll definitely go back and try other menu options!

We also got a Ruben sandwich, called the Grissom after the local boy turned astronaut, and the sandwich was filled with home made corned beef, and was awesome. The place was full of families Sunday noon, everyone enjoying themselves, and no matter how crowded, the service remained quick prompt & friendly. 5/5. Highly recommend.
