Our school had a small broken patch of a concrete walkway that needed replacing, and potentially some larger jobs for the future when our budget allows. I contacted multiple companies specifying that I was looking for a "no job too small" contractor to replace the failed concrete patch. The contractor for the first company I contacted (Napa Valley Concrete) requested pictures, which I sent, and set up an appointment to come look at the patch to provide an estimate. That was the last I heard from him. He failed to show up at the appointed time, and neither called nor texted me again. So, back to the drawing board. I next contacted Connor and Sons via their web site. Paul Connor responded within one business day. He showed up at the appointed time. When I thanked him for doing so, he said "That's our job, right?" :-) I related the all-too-common story to him of the first no-show contractor. Connor and Sons was reliable and professional through the whole process. Paul was communicative when personal circumstances delayed the work. They ended up starting the work on a weekend in order to fit us in between their larger jobs and bad weather. In the end, the concrete itself and its replacement was harder than Connor had anticipated. To be honest, I think they may have lost money on our little job. But Paul honored his estimate despite this. I can't say enough about how good my experience with Connor and Sons was. We requested a quote for a stamped driveway and front walkway, and Paul and PJ came out right away, returning a quote very quickly. I was pleasantly surprised it was more reasonable than I had expected and promptly booked them for the job. They were excellent at communicating, with speedy work as well as letting me know up front factors that affect the ability to get parts of the job done (wind, rain, etc..) I recently hired Connor and Sons after interviewing several companies to install concrete walk ways and patio slabs around my house and barn located in Wooden Valley. Paul and his crew stood out from the others with their personable and friendly demeanor and strong can do attitude. During the job I made several changes to the agreed upon scope of work, each time my requests were met with good humor and immediate service. In the end 50 yards of colored concrete was poured and stamped resulting in a beautiful addition to my homestead. I contacted Paul the owner regarding a totally boshed up concrete stamped driveway project done by a guy who I thought was licensed and turned out not to be. The job was 9k and the color I wanted didnt even come close to what I had originally shown him off the concrete color cards. Paul was excellent at discussing the process of reporting him to the State Contractors Board and explaining what he did wrong and why the color didnt match up. I worked with Paul to have the slope of my driveway approach changed as it was destroying the underside of my wife's car. Required working with Napa Building Department for permitting on my behalf. The driveway looks great, matches the existing sidewalk, and now has sloped 'wings' to assist with parking. Its a real solid company and they had a large crew to take care of driveway. Demolition and site prep first day. They poured the driveway another day. They put in iron rods to support the driveway. We wanted our narrow front walkway and old, cracked patio replaced. We knew the results would be nice from the pictures online but after actually seeing how much work goes into it and seeing the finished product, our expectations were exceeded. I called Connor and Sons Concrete today to ask about possible repairs/overlay of my existing backyard patio. I spoke with Paul, the owner, and explained my situation.
