We had a rather complex concrete job that the first guys we hired weren't equipped to handle. After firing that team halfway through, we were lost and stressed about what to do. Our yard had been torn up for 7 weeks. Carlos not only completed the work and fixed errors, but brought our vision to life, all in just 2.5 weeks! They even installed turf, which was the final touch to our project and allowed us to fully enjoy our outdoor space right away. Cannot thank Carlos and his team enough! Very strongly recommend him for your concrete needs.

I contacted multiple companies specifying that I was looking for a "no job too small" contractor to replace the failed concrete patch. The contractor for the first company I contacted (Napa Valley Concrete) requested pictures, which I sent, and set up an appointment to come look at the patch to provide an estimate. That was the last I heard from him. He failed to show up at the appointed time, and neither called nor texted me again. So, back to the drawing board. I next contacted Connor and Sons via their web site. Paul Connor responded within one business day. He showed up at the appointed time. When I thanked him for doing so, he said "That's our job, right?" :-) I related the all-too-common story to him of the first no-show contractor. Connor and Sons was reliable and professional through the whole process. Paul was communicative when personal circumstances delayed the work. They ended up starting the work on a weekend in order to fit us in between their larger jobs and bad weather. In the end, the concrete itself and its replacement was harder than Connor had anticipated. To be honest, I think they may have lost money on our little job. But Paul honored his estimate despite this. I can't say enough about how good my experience with Connor and Sons was. When our budget allows for our larger jobs, I'm absolutely going to contact them again, and will look for ways to give them more business. Thank you Paul, P.J., Mike, and Dane!

I was pleasantly surprised it was more reasonable than I had expected and promptly booked them for the job. Not only does it look stunningly beautiful but their friendly nature reassured us they were taking good care to get everything we desired accomplished. Thanks guys!!

I was skeptical of the second wall at first, but in the end it looks really nice and I think makes my yard flow better than what I had imagined in my head. I did exceed my budget, but I don't feel like I got a bad value for the money. I really appreciate the fact that Mike and his crew kept the work site clean. I found Mike on Yelp!, and reached out. I am thoroughly impressed at the way this business is run! The owner is not only gifted at his business, he is extremely professional. He did a walk through, asked what I wanted, and gave suggestions. Then he took measurements. By the next morning, I had a formal plan drawn up, with detailed items in an electronic contract app that made this process seamless. The estimate was in print viewable from my mobile phone, and I was able to pay my down payment right from my mobile. How convenient! The employees were friendly, always on time and respectful of my property. I absolutely love my new backyard, and my grand dog does too! I cannot thank Mike and his crew enough for making this amazement happen. Thanks Mike and crew!

Part one of a two part foundation project Recently we had…read moreour house foundation repaired by Groundworks out of Fairfield. One bedroom had sunk by almost 5 inches as that part of the house had been built on fill. In order to restore the house to it's proper level numerous foundation jacks and floor leveling screw jacks were required. In addition some landscaping bushes and pvc sprinkler pipes had to temporarily removed. Groundworks had informed me prior to starting work what would be required to successfully complete this project and had my full approval. The house is now level, the doors no longer swing on their own and the interior cracks between the walls and ceiling joints no longer exist. Prior to the crew leaving the yard was cleaned up and the pvc pipes replaced. Best of all Groundworks will come back annually to the next 5 years and make any necessary adjustments. The Groundworks crew that made this happen was Andrew, the site supervisor, Charlie and Allen. Their performance and daily communication was superior on all levels. This is part 2. The Groundworks Poly crew of Anthony & Brian were very fast and efficient in completing their part of the foundation repair contract which was to level our family room slab floor. Fast, yes, but Anthony did take the time to not only explain what they were going to do but also walked me through the process as they were working. I have no problem in recommending them & Groundworks to other home owners who need to have their foundation repaired.

I spent approximately $30,000 with Groundworks, and I deeply regret hiring them…read more I called Groundworks for one reason: contractors working on my floors noticed a slope and told me the beams underneath my house needed to be stabilized before they could continue. Groundworks assessed my crawl space and recommended a system they represented would address the problem. I relied on their expertise. That is the ONLY reason I agreed to spend approximately $30,000. When the project was about 80% complete, Groundworks suddenly told me I needed to call a carpenter. They did not explain that there was significant dry rot underneath my home or that the condition of the wood needed to be addressed before the work they were performing. I learned that later, after hiring an independent home inspector. By then, Groundworks had already been working throughout the same crawl space installing stabilization and encapsulation. My inspector identified significant dry rot and explained that it needed to be addressed first. Had I known that before Groundworks performed approximately $30,000 worth of work, I would NEVER have moved forward with their recommended system before addressing the underlying damage. And here is the worst part: THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. The slope remains and appears to have increased since their work was completed. I am now facing additional repairs and expenses, and some of Groundworks' work may have to be undone or worked around to properly repair the underlying damage. The encapsulation has also been problematic. It was supposed to help keep my crawl space dry, but it was not properly secured, leaving openings that allowed rodents into my crawl space. I also later learned that the dehumidification equipment installed did not cover the entire crawl space as I understood it was supposed to. Then there is the customer service. Once they had my money, getting meaningful help became incredibly difficult. I have contacted corporate and have gone more than a month without a meaningful response. If Chris is assigned to your project, based on my experience, I would be extremely cautious. My advice before hiring Groundworks: GET AN INDEPENDENT INSPECTION FIRST. Do not rely solely on the assessment of the company selling you the system. Get everything in writing and ask specifically whether anything underneath your home needs to be repaired before their system is installed. I trusted Groundworks to identify the problem and recommend a solution. Approximately $30,000 later, my original problem remains, the slope appears worse, I discovered significant dry rot that should have been addressed first, I am facing additional repairs, the encapsulation allowed rodent access, and corporate has been unresponsive. I would NEVER recommend Groundworks based on my experience. $30,000 spent. Original problem unresolved. More repairs ahead. That speaks for itself.

Well I haven't done this in a long time, 1 star review…read more I spoke with Mario on the phone who was very professional and pleasant to speak with, he was professional, confident and seemingly forthright. We made an appointment so he could stop by and take a look at what we were looking for. The appointment time came and went, Mario was a no call no show. So I called to make sure I didn't get the times mixed up somehow, benefit of the doubt. I left a message. He calls back and tells me he couldn't remember the time he was supposed to meet so he went home. Seriously? How about call me back and let me know you can't make it. Anyhow, we made another appointment for a few days later so his father could join us since he's the expert on staining concrete. Once again, appointment time comes and goes, no call no show. At this point Ive moved on as I can no longer trust this company, if they can't even make a simple phone to let me know they can't make it, how can I trust them to take care of my concrete project. I can't. Update: Mario finally did call me back, 2 days are he stood me up for the 2nd time, he apologized profusely, much like before, and offered to come over that evening. Maybe it's a game, how many times can he stand me up before I give up? I'm not playing.
