After I pulled up the older gentlemen told me he could vacuum my car, I offered to do it because I didn't mind.. the younger technician came and aggressively told me to "give that to him" and trying to snatch it out my hand. There were a few words between he and I then I left. This happened 4/21/20. I would NEVER RECOMMEND DOINg business WITH THIS SHOP!! Very unprofessional. I tried getting the general managers number but the older technician told me that it wouldn't do any good because his brother is the owner-- so he acts like that on the regular. Like I said, I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I had two leaks they were happy to point out to me, and instead of trying to get me to pay them to fix it and make it sound worse than it was, they did a little quick bandaid type fix that would stop the leaking long enough for me to fix it myself. They told me the part names, who in town might be able to fix it cheap, and wished me the best. $55 for a high mileage oil change and they're truthful about everything. My coolant hose connector was so worn and brittle the hose just came off (the car has over 200k miles), they helped me pick all of the broken plastic out, plugged the holes and gave me all the advice they could, didn't ask for a cent more than the cost of the oil change. I've heard so much about these oil change places utterly ripping you off with lies selling you services you don't need and not actually doing them. but these guys stand alone. Only reason I don't want to send a bunch of well deserved business their way is so that it's not too busy next time I go (jk jk) even when they're a little backed up, they're working hard at each vehicle and there are a couple of awesome guys working up there. This is the only place in the tri-county area I will get an oil change and I recommend you do too. Thank you Halvoline/Texaco!! You'll see me in 5,000 miles or so!!

In case anyone was wondering, this used to be S&S Automotive at the same location. It still appears…read moreas such on Google Reviews but it's marked closed. Nope, not closed It's simply operating under a new name. The "closed" status makes reviews pretty much impossible, so I'm posting this here... I'm a former Vix resident of 11 years now living in Byram, but still like to handle car matters in Vix due to generally better prices. My trusted oil change guy there for years doesn't do weekends anymore (much like the former S&S), plus doesn't do transmissions anyway, so he recommended the place to me to see about the aging, proprietary piece of crap CVT in my 2015 Nissan Versa, which is up to 179K miles. Predictably, nothing can be done on the highly complex, proprietary CVT without Nissan's wondrous dealerships' help and high cost. No harm, no foul...I told the Stauts gang to simply change the oil and find out why my temp gauge has always run hot the past coupla summers in any moderate amount of traffic. Turns out, the radiator fans needed to be replaced. No harm, no foul, until I called them for an update.... Was told the starter went out after a severe early-morning thunderstorm the previous Friday. Sounded like they were afraid to tell me, so I made sure I made known I wouldn't be paying a cent for such a mystery. Mostly no foul, as a new starter was put in at no charge. My wife and I paid the bill last Friday and made small talk with the receptionist, then went to leave when.... I noticed the keypad wasn't working. My physical key can still manually turn the key, but it surely defeats the purpose of having a pad if the buttons don't lock and unlock the doors anymore. Was told it was likely the battery that got zapped by the supernatural storm (?!) That hasn't turned out to be totally true, as a brand-new battery sized appropriately for the pad hasn't worked since purchasing it this past weekend. Also, the clock on the car's stereo was about two hours behind when I got into the car to take it home. Indeed, there was something done with the vehicle's electrical system that actually caused all this. I'm sure it's possible to handle a person's vehicle issues without affecting the keyless entry? And the starter? I spent some of the wait time during the repair process in the hospital with an unexpected cardiac event. And so I really don't have the energy to deal with trying to make them pay for a replacement keypad without pricey legalese. I'll muddle along and open the doors manually and lock them using the inner-door button. They get three stars for what they WERE able to do, but the unfortunate deal with my starter and keypad is a caution for those needing highly technical work done by a small outfit. And work to issues that you might not know are even happening! Some post-notes: I got only one keypad when I bought the car. No spare key at all. It'll be the last Nissan and the last CVT I drive.

He answered the phone and addressed the customer politely before asking me how I am doing I say not so good, I have a flat - he said let's walk out and see what's going on. After he looked at the tire he showed me the age of the tire and the nail that was in the corner of the side and offered to see what he had in this size It was late in the afternoon and all of technician were busy so Mr Nathan went out and install them himself so I could be done in an hour. Wow. I never seen someone do this in a tire shop. Very impressive and multitalented Gave me such a good deal I bought four brand new Firestone tires and I love them way they drive, I will always be coming to this store to see Mr Nathan - thank you for your help so much you have made a customer for life Everybody go see Nathan at Firestone in Vicksburg, he is a great manager. They tried to get them to change all four tires with a story that the others were under 3/32s depth. Funny thing, we moved from the north and had just had our winter tires replaced with summer and had been told by a reliable dealership less than a month before that we had plenty of tread. Stated this to the person trying to upsell us and the rep said, 'Oh, I have not looked at the car personally, let me go check.'. On the check, all was well...imagine that. Took the car to a dealership--Blackburn's Nissan--and they said we had 6, 7, and 8 / 32nds on the tires Firestone wanted us to change. My only wonder is why I am not reporting this Firestone to the Attorney General. I'll just assume they may have been confused or something. But as I said, don't walk, run AWAY from this place.

Every time we found a vehicle that had a great price the companies added miscelaneous fees (dealer fees, manditory paint protection fees, security system monitoring fees, or inventory taxes). In addition they were charging from $599.00 to $899.00 for a title transfer fee. The bottom line was that by the time you add the fees, the price of the vehicle was no longer a good deal. I found a vehicle atGeorge Carr. I was contacted by the Internet Manager Herb. He provided me with an accurate description of the condition of the van. There were no hidden fees added to the vehicle and the title transfer fee was more than reasonable. I would highly recommend doing business with Herb and George Carr Buick GMC. Ed G. New Orleans

Monday - Problem Diagnosed ..... repair done. I was also advised that car was road tested on the highway and no issues. Paid the bill (seemed exorbitant but they had the car and me). I agreed to the repair and the price and was put back on the road. Additional note that Carr indicated the fuse box needed replacement but was not in stock and with the GM strike they didn't know if/when available. Apparently, they did not believe it important enough to try to locate the necessary part, advise timing, emphasize the breakdown risk, or advise importance of not driving until the "complete" repair done. At no point was I advised that (1) I was vulnerable to an imminent repeat breakdown, or (2) I should wait for the necessary parts and repair for the "complete" repair. Based on the above I left the George Carr Buick shop and after driving 4 hours was stranded with the same problem in Tyler, TX. Bottom line - 4 extra hotel nights, rent a cars, tow trucks, etc all because of a drawn out and incomplete repair by George Carr Buick in Vicksburg, MS. fyi: an independent AAA repair shop in Tyler, TX confirmed the diagnosis, located and obtained the fuse box and installed in a total of 4 hours.
