Having your wisdom teeth yanked when you are 18 years old is no biggie, however, when you are over 40 years old, people look at your with a horrified and pained expression when you tell them you are having your wisdom teeth pulled. You start to hear horror stories: "I was so swollen and bruised" "I couldn't eat for a week" "I was spitting clots of blood" "I got a dry socket" Holy crap. But I had no choice. I had put it off for a year. I met the oral surgeon that my dentist referred me to and I hated him---brusque, arrogant attitude. No thanks Luckily, my friend's daughter had her wisdom teeth removed and I saw her daughter day after her procedure. She said "It wasn't too bad" My friend told me this particular oral surgeon was a great guy. I made my appointment with Dr. Colameo. He is everything I look for in a doctor. Smart, warm, easy to talk to with and a good sense of humor. Immediately put me at ease. I had my extraction done in office with IV anesthesia: Versed/Fentanyl and Diprivan. Another name for Diprivan is Propofol and it is jokingly referred to as Milk of Amnesia. And that's what I had: amnesia, no memories of anything painful or uncomfortable. I never heard any tooth cracking or felt any pulling. I woke up 40 minutes later and was in no pain at all. I was never swollen. I only ended up taking 5 Percocet out of the 24 I was prescribed. Five days after the procedure, I was able to eat normally again...until then I was eating soft food due to some mild discomfort over the extraction sites. The office staff is courteous and polite. None of my wisdom teeth were impacted so I imagine that helped my recovery. Dr. Colameo wrote me out of work for 3 days. I could have gone to Disney on Day 2. I hope your oral surgery goes as well : )

As you may know, any dentist can do Invisalign, they don't even need to be orthodontist. You want an orthodontist for this, and Dr. Liao is an orthodontist. Even though he went through 4 extra years of training.. he does not charge more than your dentist... but he does it better. Dr Lao gave us the best quote for Invisalign, and did not charge for the evaluation. I live far from his office, so the staff made it convenient to schedule to do a quick pick up our mouth trays when needed. It's worth the trip from the city, or the other direction. I'm a busy guy... and I appreciate that the front office values my time. I don't spend much time in the waiting room, and they process my insurance paperwork fast. My wife is in the home stretch with her treatment and couldn't be happier with her straight white teeth. I've been very hard on my teeth.. I've had 10 different dentists, orthodontists and oral surgeons poke around my mouth, of all different skill levels and they all left their mark. I originally came to Dr Liao because of his reputation as top Invisalign provider. I still use him now that I am finished. I live nowhere near his office, but I realize the value of my teeth and Dr Liao has helped make mine look their best. He is young, well trained and uses the newest techniques. You can trust in his skills.

As a person who works in collections and bill collecting, this is no way to go about it and certainly reflects poorly on the business. However, Dr. Genuth told me I needed an implant which costs an additional $2,888 plus the 3% credit card fee. This is where the problem begins. They have you pay before they do any work. So, if they cannot perform the work as anticipated getting your money back including the credit card fee is a major hassle. When my procedure was over, I asked for the $2,888 to be credited back to my credit card. I was told it would take a few days. It has been 4 days and 10 phone calls and still no credit. To make things worse I was informed the 3% credit card fee would NOT be refunded. This is illegal! When I informed the billing department, they were not aware of this and told me I was just getting a credit of $2,888. Any credit card fee that is greater than the fee the business pays is illegal. In summary be very careful that you do not get over charged.

We booked after checking reviews and confirming our insurance was accepted. We arrived on time and started our paperwork when they took us in. The beginning was great the staff who took our X-rays was very nice, gentle, and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. He was especially patient with my mom, whose first language is not English. The experience went downhill during the rest of the visit. While waiting for the dentist, we were put in separate consult rooms to finish consent forms. I was able to finish mine, but my mom needed more time. The dental hygienist, Effie, continually raised her voice at my mom as if she were a child, pressuring her to finish signing. I could hear all of this couple of rooms down. That attitude continued with both of us. My cleaning was the most painful I've ever had. My gums and teeth hurt severely from the sensitivity and aggressive scraping. I expected some discomfort, but not this much pain and bleeding. Throughout it, she was giving me instructions in a condescending tone, as if I were a child, while I was in obvious pain. During the cleaning, water and blood ran down my neck and splashed on my face and clothes. She would wipe it, but only after it had already reached my clothes. When she finished, she just handed me a cup of Listerine and walked out. She did not check-in, no aftercare instructions about when I could eat or what to avoid. She also told me to floss and then immediately asked if I even knew what flossing was. It was highly unprofessional and rude. Even if she was having a bad day, she should not be treating with patients like that. Neither my mom nor I were ever disrespectful to her. No one on staff intervened despite her raising her voice at my mom multiple times. Dr. Dalco herself only did a quick, couple-minute check-up, which was fine, and the X-ray staff was wonderful which is why this is not a one-star review. However, we will not be returning. No one deserves to be treated like that.
