I have been to over 20 doctors for medical problems and every single office will verify insurance. I told the office that the doctor was in network according to my insurance. But they said I still needed to call my insurance to double check if the insurance will actually cover it. So I call my insurance and the insurance company says "do you have the codes for me to input so I can check?" What codes? What the hell is he talking about? He says the codes and all the information that insurance companies need would be information the doctor's office would generally have. This isn't patient information. This is why he doesn't like it when doctor's offices won't call themselves to verify. This is why doctor's offices SHOULD AND DO call insurance and verify themselves. I was the told I needed to call the doctor's office to get the codes and the insurance company call back. Seriously?! Why should a patient ever need to be the third person who is going between doctor office who has doctor information such as codes for procedures and the insurance? Almost every other doctor and doctor's office I have ever been to does that for the patients!! Needless to say ONE HOUR LATER I cancelled my appt bc I was essentially told by the insurance that bc they don't have the codes from the doctor's office for my procedure, I won't know whether or not my appt will be covered.

My previous ENT just prescribed me antibiotics...for an entire year. I was getting so desperate that I found Dr. Fakhri through a medical journal search. he is a faculty member at UT Houston, as well as a practicing physician, and he has conducted significant research in Head/Neck issues. I sent him an email explaining my symptoms and he e-mailed me back the SAME NIGHT. a SUNDAY. that doesn't usually happen.... The first time I saw him he immediately diagnosed the problem, and had me in surgery to fix it within a week. I felt an instantaneous improvement and I am so grateful that I found this doctor. My quality of life improved drastically. He is extremely friendly and personable and will go out of his way to make sure you're getting the care you need. What Dr. George Fisher and countless other ENT's couldn't do........ .....Dr. Fakhri did. I would have never met Dr. Fakhri had it not been for Dr. Bechhara Ghorayeb. Having been to a multitude of allergists and ENT specialists, the conclusion at least for me was that I was seen more as a "client" - not a patient. Merely relegated to someone to keep checking in every three months to pay for the office visit and be given prednisone. Just a routine customer. Hey it's all about repeat business, right? That all changed after a visit with Dr. Ghorayeb. My sense of taste and smell gone, he concluded I needed surgery to remove polyps that had created nearly 100% blockage in one of my nostrils. "But I've already had 2 surgeries for that, " I informed him. "Hmmmm this is a very delicate area in which to have repeat surgeries," he said, "And I'm afraid I won't be able to attempt yet another one." "But aren't you an ENT?", I asked. "Yes," he replied "but you'll need to see a specialist capable of navigating through something so delicate. Remember this area is incredibly close to your brain and eyes." He took his cell phone out and made a quick call right there while under his care. "When you go back up to the front, the receptionist will have an address and phone number to someone I suggest you see." The difference maker to me is Dr. Fakhri took a personal interest in my issue and made it a point to not prescribe yet another panacea to keep me coming back over and over. He inquired about my previous surgeries and I noticed surgery wasn't what he wanted me to go though but it might be needed. He tried every measure to prevent that but to make a long an already long story short - surgery was needed. The result was fantastic. And I'm happy to report I'm off all medications with the exception of being treated with aspirin and only 1 rinse a day of warm water mixed with Neil Med sinus rinse and montelukast powder. That's it. That's the maintenance. No longer am I a walking medicine cabinet. Since 2010, I can smell. I can taste. Even seasonal allergy flare ups are RARE. Life is good. So I don't know who to thank - Dr. Ghorayeb or Dr. Fakhri Did he change my life? You tell me.

Where to begin...well, I had been dealing with serious allergy issues this year (and have been for…read moremany many years), and decided to move forward attempting to correct allergy issues along with a deviated septum (had that for as long as I could remember). When I first visited Dr. K and his team in their Houston office, I immediately knew they were going to be a superstar team. Everyone in the office is kind, knowledgeable, and professional and they are just flat out great people! Dr. K first saw me back in March, and suggested that we start treating my severe allergies prior to tackling my deviated septum and other nose issues. I went through the allergy testing and learned I was allergic to EVERYTHING! haha but the team formulated my perfect blend of allergy drops and then I began feeling better and better as time went on. Sublingual Immunotherapy has clearly helped reduce my allergy symptoms to near zero and I feel GREAT now. Secondly, after getting my allergies in check, Dr. K felt that it was time to fix my nose issues. This required a turbinate reduction, balloon sinuplasty, and correction of my severely deviated septum. I decided to go under general anesthesia to complete the whole procedure and I can safely say, that it was 100% effective. I cannot remember the last time I breathed so freely. The surgery was definitely one of the best decisions of my life, and I sleep so much better at night with no snoring and fewer sleep disturbances at night (my partner loves this haha). I had heard horror stories about how the post op phase post nasal surgery could be extremely uncomfortable, yet that's the best part about Dr. K's recommendations. THERE WAS NO NASAL PACKING! I can honestly say that there was extremely minimal discomfort post surgery, and that I felt right back to normal in about 5 days. To be honest, only on days 3-4 post surgery did I feel any fatigue/minor discomfort. But the best part was the feeling of being able to breathe because there was no nasal packing. Overall, my experience with Dr. K and the Texas Sinus, Allergy, Snoring and Sleep Institute has been the BEST. I can safely say that they have been able to change my life for the best, and I would highly recommend their services to anyone in the Houston/Woodlands area!
