Bay Cities was the low bid and came recommended from friend that built his custom home prior to my losing my home. When my framer saw the bid he told me to sign it immediately and send it back for scheduling. Bay Cities pulled permits, installed, and had inspection without any effort on my part. The only thing I needed to do was schedule their crew and they were very accommodating in when they would come out. I pushed them off on two occasions as my build was not on schedule. They readily rescheduled. After install and California Department of Fire passing the project, I needed to reduce the head extensions prior to the application of insulation. They sent someone the next day to accommodate me and have the modifications completed prior to insulation. This really has been one of the best choices I've made in this project. I recommend these guys 100%.

What should have taken just a few months stretched into two years of delays, constant mistakes, and endless frustration. Oscar, the owner, writes his own contracts without legal guidance, which led to repeated disputes. His team failed to finish the work multiple times, forcing us to hire additional workers to complete the job. He continuously referred us to friends who were not licensed for the work and then charged triple the fair market price. Almost everything ended up being "out of scope," which we were not told upfront. The situation got so bad that we had to hire an attorney and file complaints with CSLB just to get the issues addressed. The only reason we chose Firemax was because they submitted the lowest bid, and we deeply regret that decision. Save yourself the stress, expense, and legal trouble. Anyway we called around and have several fire protection companies come over and gave estimates they were all very professional however Todd and Barry from McCoy fire protection Inc really stood out from all of them. They were very knowledgeable gave me a full understanding on what to expect and how they were going to approach this project (total 47 new sprinklers needed to be switched out). To my surprise the price they quoted me were a lot lower than all others in the area of too good to be true but we decided to use them and they did a wonderful job! Very professional and really know what they are doing. Turns out the existing sprinklers were pain in the butt to take out and they needed to drill holes around it anyway a one day job turned to a two day job and once they pick up the pace it was done in about a day and half. Overall I had a great experience with them Todd Christ and Barry all very nice people. I was given an accurate 2 hour arrival window and got a text when Noah was dispatched, about 15 minutes before he arrived, which was helpful. Noah was great! He gave me a quote up front and there were no surprises. He showed me the additional issues that were not fixed by my simple replacement, and when I asked questions he offered to teach me how to do the larger replacement myself. He was patient and walked me through all of the steps including a thorough check. He showed me where there was still moisture after his initial install, walked me through his troubleshooting, made an adjustement, and ran another thorough check. The whole thing took about 30 minutes, and I am now confident I would be able to do more if not all of the replacement on my own.
