CLICKED THIS HERE WHOLE STAR BAR TA GIT THE WHOLE BUTTON TA LIGHT UP FOR A ONE-BAR REVIEW STAR…read moreCAUSE I CANT HARDLY DESCRIBE DECADES OF WHAT THEY DONE: Goin to Gardeners Aid and dealing with Paul and Bill for whut seem like decades. Ever time, the same. The last time too, he yet again charged me $10 more, just like ever other time, when he had me out the door with a complete, ready to go, tuned up, Gold Star Master Mechanic prepped and warrantied 880R-Magnum saw in like 12 minutes after askin! Ever time! Always overchargin. You can get it cheaper by goin a hole buncha places a buncha times and gettin all them parts separate! Coulda done better by over ten bucks on the total price than what Paul did to me there in that shop of his on Sebastopol Road in Santa Rosa. I gotta buddy who did just that. If'n I went like he did to go get the unassembled powerhead at the saw shop up north and hagglin down the in-box price, I coulda done better. Just go in every few days by keep driving 63 miles up there and making that guy so mad he just wanna git rid of ya, an then drivin them 63 miles home. After wastin 15 hours of his time on a buncha days while he's trying to service paying customers, he gonna finally order up the saw and hand you the box just to get rid of you. Ya saved like almost $5. Drive yerself on up to Woodland and look round at them bars made where one or two aint so good or sumpthin so that they want to make a deal. My buddy got one with one thin side rail, smaller thickness, and it seems kinda wobbly, but you can save a bundle cause nobody got enough sense to find good deals. Cut with the right side of the saw down and the thin rail don't seem to make a difference. Upright cuts kinda curve, but if you know how to twist it hard it does ok. Y'all can save like another $50 that way! Way ahead on Gardeners Aid cost! If'n ya go to the pick and pull yard car parts yard an look around for a few weekends you can find some pretty good bar nuts. They might be funny or different sizes n all, but you can save like another $1 there too. Chain. Ya gonna need a chain. If'n ya go to a rental place who rentin saws, they can't send out a used chain and some of em got almost no use on it. Free! Take a nail and bang out them rivits and put a piece of hardened drill bit in there to join a couple of them chains. Now the bar and chain are a different stud size than the saw powerhead so ya gotta order some new studs for the saw so you can fit a 3/8 saw slot bar on a saw ment to run a .404 an all that. Gonna drive to a few chainsaw shops and price it out, best price gonna cost you $43.35 with tax, plus some time to change em out. Some places charge as much as $44.25! Drivin and checkin everwhere gonna save you some money. Now don't need no "special treatment" in the first tanka fuel like Paul puts in at Gardeners Aid. That foofy stuff is for people who don't know how to do stuff there selfs. I did it cheaper by gettin some gas from my neighbor who had it sittin round for a couple years and didn't need it. He even smiled at me when he gave it to me. Did him a favor he said. Some motor oil from the oil change for the bar lube, and some pre-mix cost $2.79 for the whole 5-gallon mixer (applied sparingly using 1/8th of that mixer thing to that one gallon of gas) had me all set. Saved nuther $2 there. NET SAVINGS OF $11.86 FOR ALMOST THE SAME SAW BILL AND PAUL SOLD ME FOR THEIR NAME BRAND ONE ALL PUT TOGETHER! So, I coulda done better doin it myself but I din't have no time to spare. I hada buy their saw. That one branch fell outa my tree and I was gonna cut it up real nice into some firewood so it dint sit restin on the bird bath next to my trailer no more. I hear Privet make some real nice firewood and it's cheaper to cut your own stuff cause they charge you too much at that All Seasons Firewood place where it's "always dry and delivered an stuff" by that super nice dude. Who needs that when you got a broken Privet branch, or one them big Crepe Myrtle tree hafta come out. Oh, and they aint nice to them customers at Gardener's Aid. Rude. Paul told a guy that he could see through the missing cylinder wall hole where the rod and piston came out that Craftsman mower and shattered the carburetor and gas tank, and that he wasn't gonna try and fix it. Claimed he couldn't fix it and told the guy to buy a new mower. They don't make those ol mowers like they used to in the 50's. They tell people stuff like that all the time. People get mad. They also complainin here too. And they rude to everbody. People be lined up for hep and they only take 30-40 minutes with each person, even if they know they only gonna buy a way cheaper quality one at the home depot fer a little cheaper. They treat everbody special, unless they cranky and angry, and asking Paul and Bill for 5% off retail, an haggle fer 2 hours when they real busy. I wonder how these guys do it ever day.
