This company has the world's worst customer service. 30+ minute wait time on the phone is unacceptable for any company. I ordered upgraded internet nearly 3 months ago and they never showed up to install the new router. Also their over all internet and phone service is horrible. Just had to vent. I've had Elltel/Fairpoint internet for almost 20 years. Just keeps getting worse. Check out my picture of a speedtest, Wednesday, about 1:45pm: .74mps down, .63 up. These are dial-up modem speeds. I have to go home and use by Charter account to get some work done. read more

Billing is indecisive and not consistent at all! They can sure send me how much my bill is in the mail 3 times a month with different numbers and when I call them to pay my bill well within my timeframe it's a 2-3 hour process to even speak to anyone, once I get to someone my bill has then doubled or sometimes tripled! Extreme disappointing customer service. Spotty service. I've been on the phone for my parents for hours, after my parents were having difficulty with the operators. I talked to four different operators, and have been disconnected each time. Their billing is unclear and confusing, and the operators just pass you around to "supervisors" who don't answer your questions or help solve your problems. There are hidden fees that they don't tell you about until after you're connected, and their "notice" for disconnect is a phone call the day before they shut it off. Better not ever leave your house for a day... I have never had such a frustrating and unhelpful experience with a business and customer service in my LIFE. If you're considering this service, my advice is to RUN the other direction. read more

Internet is hard wired and therfore better than satellite but speeds are so up and down. I go from .18mbps to 5mbps to 7mbps which is the top speed where I live. They promised me higher speeds (lowest 7) but never deliver that promise. I pay over 50 bucks for .18mbps which is very unfair but they are the only Internet provider in my area of Ellensburg. read more

I have been having issues with my internet. I have to reboot everyday. I have called and stated this and they were coming out to look at lines. Unsure if they did but serviced a message saying everything looked good outside with lines. Called and stated still not working and they were going to send a tech out with new modem and never showed. There is no way I am going to be locked in to stay with this company for two years to upgrade. Looking for new internet provider. Awful customer service. read more

For being a "communication company", the last thing I've found Fairpoint able to do is communicate!! From wrong internet bill paying site to IVR (calling customer serv), after 5 calls, I'm still unable to speak to a real person or pay my bill. My internet service is also intermediate...works when it wants and cuts out when you're in the middle of something. Yes, the phone does the same thing. I will have to say the techs that respond to trouble calls are very polite and nice guys. However, the issues still remain with my service. read more

I have been using this Internet for over 2 years now (only because I have absolutely no other Internet options in the area). I rely on the connection being stable and powerful enough to accomplish every day tasks. Unfortunately, there is not a few days that go by where I don't have issues. Issues are the following: Download speeds average about 3-5mb, not 7 which is what they have in the fine print (7 is horrible as well). Also I have asked to have my service box relocated somewhere out of the rain and snow but nobody ever shows. Another issue is that the connection will cease to exist at least once a day which is absolutely horrible. Sometimes for a whole day or 2. When I called about the issue they just tell you to unplug and plug it back in or offer you another line for double the price. Why would I want 2 lines that don't work right. If you live in the towns Hotspots, you may be fine but they need work outside of downtown area. I'm just waiting on charter or some other company to offer more efficient and reliable service. read more

At this point, I'm fairly certain that every service business in Ellensburg is part of a massive scheme to make things as difficult, frustrating, and negligently completed as possible. I called and spoke with a woman named Jasmine last Thursday to schedule an install for internet using the Student Promotion that CC is running until the end of March. I had to fight for it, despite being a full time, higher education student who meets the stated criteria EXACTLY, given that I'm low income, my university has closed, and is holding all classes online because of COVID-19. But first she tried to tell me that the promotion was only for people with kids k-12. So I read her what THEIR website and promo ad states. I was placed on hold. She came back and said I was correct. Okay cool. Then after several minutes of back and forth, she tried to tell me that there was an install fee. Again, no, because the student promotion specifically states that there are no install fees. She then tried to tell me that it had something to do with a home network plan that I was signing up on vs some other plan that wouldn't have install fees. I read her, again, exactly what it states on their promotional ad and reiterated that I wanted to sign up with THIS promotion, that's it. I was placed on hold again while she spoke to her manager. She returned and said that the manager said they could "waive" the fee. Why are you "waiving" a fee that doesn't exist per YOUR promo? Whatever. Then scheduling - she told me that the soonest someone could be at my house was the 31st (turns out this may not have been true. A coworker set up new internet as his house, called hours after I did, and was given an appointment the day before - maybe someone cancelled? Who tf knows) and there were 2 appointments, 8am or 12pm. I asked for 8am. I confirmed all details twice before leaving the phone call because the whole situation was so buggered at that point, I didn't want to take any risks considering we have already had to wait 3 months to be able to get internet (blame Accolade Property Management. They also suck, don't ever rent through them). This morning rolls around, and no one shows up. So I call the customer service line, and speak to someone else who informs me that not only do appointment times not exist and it's appointment slots (8-12, 12-4) in which the technician will call before he gets there, but I was scheduled for the 12-4 slot, not even the 8-12. So, well done Consolidated Communications. I hope you're proud of your employee training. Do better. read more

Absolutely the worst internet service around. My internet constantly goes down. I have to restart my router everyday. And don't bother calling them for help, they will either try to make it your fault or charge you to fix the service you already pay for. read more
