Sorry but got my hair did by the main owner himself and cost me $220 but never again. My hair still looks the same as when I walked in there. He did the top of my hair great but the bottom never even touched. I let people know I did my hair with him and cost me 220 and they laugh at me and give me advice to go with someone else and never return here. I'm disappointed. I was able to book a last minute appointment for a wedding, took a picture of the updo and it took the girl about 1.5 to wash, blow dry and fix hair somewhat similar to the picture. For $35.00, I can't complain she put time and tried. I got home, fluffed, curled and sprayed a firmer hair spray to keep my locks in place. I was pretty satisfied for the price. It was a good deal. If you are a blonde...go there! The staff is also super friendly, it's always a great time there, there's tons of positive energy. Passing through states to have my hair done. Owner and wife very nice however I was charged over 225 for a hair color I didn't even ask for ! I sat in the chair for over 6 hours. My color is now ash / green ! I am a Christian as well and the right thing to do was not ! To charge me for this horrible service . She colored my hair three times ! read more

I've been a customer here for about 3 years. I get my hair cut maybe 3-4 times a year. Every time I've been there, Carlos (the owner) has been there. He's not the most friendly or humble. I tried to avoid getting cuts from him because he takes so long (about 2 hours for a trim, mostly running around talking to other customers/employees/people on the phone- you name it, doing anything besides your hair. If you can't handle an ego, choose somewhere else. He actually told a story, to the whole shop, of someone getting star crazy over him- making fun of the guy. The first time I was there he was talking bad about another customer and complaining about all the people that wanted him to wash their hair (cuz his fingers are AH-mazing- so he says, I wouldn't know he's never condescended to washing my hair.) My favorite stylist left a while back, a quiet, fast, and kind lady Maritza, I'm crushed, losing a good stylist is like losing a good friend. I just called to make an appointment and got the impression that he didn't feel like it so I'm searching elsewhere, I've wasted enough time. Also, the comment by Nancy down in the "unrecommended" section sounds totally spot on. So it comes down to this- is it about the cut or the service? Does it bother you if the atmosphere is awkward and ego-inflated? Somehow I always walk out of there feeling like I've been had, even if my hair looks good. read more

Sad, sad, sad. No good customer service. I went about 4 may be 5 years ago. And that was the LAST TIME! My hubby who patiently waited for me AFTER coming to pick me up and usually doesn't say much told me to think about going elsewhere the next time! I Didn't know about public reviews then so I kept it to myself. But I'll just say that the previous negative reviews are spot on! The owner is so full of himself! It's really sad. Worst experience I have EVER had at a salon. If I could give them 0 stars I would.When I made my appointment I double checked to make sure I got the right time.I was told 3pm. The day of ,they called at 8am and said I missed my appointment and they are keeping my deposit money claiming they text me which wasn't true. Kiki Was so rude she didn't admit her mistake and then insulted my intelligence. They finally agreed to see me later in the afternoon with someone else. I only went because I didn't want to lose my deposit. Big mistake! I wanted brown highlights I told them I don't want any blonde I even showed them a picture. I got super Ugly BRASSY blonde highlights with GREEN tones!! IT LOOKED AWFUL. To top that off they told me a different price, charged my card more with out me knowing and kept my deposit. When I found out what my card was charged I kept calling and they kept ignoring my calls( they have caller id) I stopped by to ask Constantino if he can fix my hair or give me my money back before I could even open my mouth he put his hand IN MY FACE and said I'm not going to speak to you. Go speak to the lady at the desk . So Kiki came out and Had nothing to say about the amount they charged me then I asked to please fix my hair At least and she was so rude and refused to fix my hair. She said it didn't look like this when I left. So it's my fault. (I didn't do anything to my hair!) It's sad knowing some people do business like this. Sadly, I kept an appointment for a color/cut/style 3 days after finding out my stylist was no longer working at this salon. My only consolation was that the owner would be cutting my hair. After being sat in a corner longer than my color needed to set (not the first time this has happened), my hair was dried, then I waited some more, and then it was time for a cut. I showed Carlos the same picture I had used with my previous stylist - at HIS salon- but was told that the cut would not work for me. "Do what you think is best, " I said. Little did I know I would rue the day I uttered those words. He proceeded to unevenly chop off the back of my hair way above the base of my neck! I wear my hair just above my shoulders!!! He never cut the front of my hair or evened out my side bangs. He never showed me the back of my hair and promptly sent me on my way (3 1/2 hours after arriving!). When I reached back to touch my hair I could feel how terribly uneven it had been cut. After a lot of anger and tears I called back and asked to go return but was told that he was leaving early - 2 hours earlier than posted closing time- because he had things to do. However, I was given the option to return on Tuesday!!! I drove around Brownsville looking for a reputable salon but ended up at JcPenny out of desperation. Toni at Penny's was kind enough to even out my hair but was told I would simply have to grow it out because doing much more would result in cropping my hair extremely short. I simply cannot believe that someone who claims to be better than everybody else in this area at cutting hair made such a blatantly rookie mistake. I could have gone to a cosmetology school and gotten a better hair cut from a student!!! I do appreciate the call back from his staff on Tuesday to ask if I wanted to return, but REALLY?!?!?!?! I will return to get my eyebrows threaded by Janeth because she is amazing, but hopefully I can see her when Carlos is not present. Though hair grows back, the money I spent is what I save up to spend on myself. It's my treat. I feel robbed and cheated and simply devastated that something that I look forward to was ruined due to simple laziness and a blatant lack of professionalism. i just hung up on the "owners wife" girlfriend, whatever she was "kiki" extremely rude woman. she turned down a customer who happens to be my customer who was disappointed for missing her appointment due to car trouble. i called to hopefully excuse my customer for the unexpected event and missing her appointment, i tried to explain that my customer has money and has flown to l.a .to get her hair done, she rudely responded by " i am so happy for her, but we have a policy" little does she realize that this is the perfect example of the movie pretty woman and selena. do not assume people do not have money and try to take advantage of them or take them for granted. shout out to constantino... your wife is going to make you loose customers!!!!! stay away from this place read more

This salon is a joke!!!!. First of all it took 30 min to get seated and started on. Then when I come to sit in the chair its full of the previous clients hair, and on the floor, so I ask the guy to clean it up(Salon Owner Carlos) he says "oh don't worry about that" she will clean it up. Extremely unprofessional!!!! People who run salons don't do that.... Period. Then he starts cutting while running back and forth to different clients and other distractions, so no focus on client at all. When apparently hes done only took off a tiny bit and I had showed him a picture of what length I wanted. Another young lady dries my hair and starts to straighten. So that's done with, He comes back and I tell him I want it shorter. This is too long. So he says OK how much more do you want off? I explain to him and he then cuts more off. Two hours later(only for a cut) Hes finally done. When I asked the girl how much is the cut she says $65.00, I was like Whatttt???? Are u serious???? 65 dollars for a cut, so I give her my card all upset with this ridiculous place of a so called salon and leave. When I called back to ask Carlos why I was charged this much for a cut he tells me "because of the amount of hair that was cut, and the type of cut. That is the stupidest thing I've heard .
