If I could give this place zero stars then I would. I can NOT believe that this place has the audacity to call itself a nursing care & rehabilitation facility. My mother was placed here for a few days, and this was the far most horrible experience ever I will not go into all details, but if you have a loved one, this is not the place for them The night nurses are rude, and non-respondent, my mother was here for the weekend, only to end up back in the hospital. The communication of the staff is horrible. They do NOT listen to the family and do what they feel is best for them rather than allowing the family to make decisions in the care of their loved one If only I would have read the reviews first, but instead, of letting the hospital decide because they had an open bed Rooms are not fit, needs major renovations Smells awful I would do everything, I can warn the next person, this place is not suitable for a loved one read more

This place is horrible, my aunt had to wait over 45 minutes for a response on the call bell. The attitude of certain staff is incredibly rude. They come in turn off the call button and walk back out the room. These people are incredible. My aunt actually looked up the number of the facility, called mentioned that she was a patient and that she needed to go to the bathroom and that a staff member has been in the room, turning off the call button but not helping. The new owners have really changed the facility and it's a very lovely facility. The staff is what makes Williamsburg acute care and rehab, so special! They treat each resident with love and care and really know each individuals likes and care plans. I am really impressed with the attention to detail and level of care they offer. read more

My loved one was unfortunate enough to end up in this horrible place. From day one it has been a nightmare in every single respect- from the staff (including the Dr.) down to the food. Out of respect for privacy, I won't go into the overwhelming malignant incompetence there. As a guest, I will say that the sheer rudeness of some of the staff doesn't end with the patients. We were privileged to be benefactors, too. The actual audacity. They have a door leading outside that we wanted to use. It was NOT labeled an emergency exit. A small sign says: Alarm will sound for 15 seconds, then open the door. Which we did. The alarm did NOT stop. A nurse (?) came running down the hall to chew us out. We protested that it is not marked as an emergency exit. She then said that it was locked to keep the patients in. OK fine, we went the other way to the front door, which has the same sign, but allows entry and exit. After we walked by her, not 10 feet, she starts mocking us behind our backs and says in a snide voice that we would just have to walk around the long way. I'm disabled. It would have been nice had she just let us through that door that she opened. I wish I could remember all she said, but frankly, I was so mad at her, that it's a blur now. My loved one has been keeping notes. They WILL be writing their own detailed review. My family member landed there because it was the only bed available in the area at the time. If you find yourself in that position, investigate all that you can, including home health care, in order to avoid languishing in this place. Having said all that, I will say that the cleaning staff is good. It is clean, if not old and dingy. Kinda depressing, really. It's like it was an old hotel at some point. read more

The nurses were great!!! The one administration person we dealt with was problem. My dad was discharged which I did not agree with, although I wanted him out of there!!!! The nurses did not know he was being discharged and it was a mess so the communication is lacking there and no help with anything. He then fell 2 days later which resulted in yet another ER visit. The administration only cares about money (which we would pay out of pocket) and not patient safety or well being. He is currently at a place that does not have a LTC bed but have him in a bed in a hospital setting until one becauses available. Consulate would not help. Do not send your loved one here!!!! Again nurses big help and great!!!!! I have discussed it with the proper channels so please don't respond with your computer automated reply to contact some hotline that is not gonna care either. read more

Food served cold. Night staff is very rude,abusive, and cruel. Staff ignores call lights. Night staff doesn't care about getting fired;they will tell you so. No medical services provided. No phones in dingy rooms, lousy internet and cell phone connections. Patient lightcontrol is a frayed pull string, hard to find. Equipment old and noisy. Cheap, small flat screen TV with irritating tinny sound. Every time I pushed the call light, I was subjected, if anybody showed up at all, to a tirade on how understaffed they were and how they had to take care of 28 patients and their hands were full. Doing important things that were more important than things I needed done. I cannot walk. In order to get staff attention from night nurse and aide who were kibitzing by the nurses station, I had to crawl down the hall to get their attention; they made me crawl back into bed without helping me at all, laughing at me like I was a trained monkey. By the way during my journey down the hall on my hands and knees there was only one call light on and it was mine. This place should be shut down soon, it may be clean but there is a filthy underlying climate of elder abuse. read more

I did not work at this facility but I worked at their sister facility. Let tell anyone who's looking for skilled nursing. DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVE ones in either. I work through agency and I WILL NEVER return. Soon as you hit front door like urine and feces!!!! The staff is ghetto and very disorganized. I don't know why state have shut down this place. Patient sit in urine and feces for hours so the CNA don't have go back change them. Very little personal care to clean patient up. Patients have bedsores and pressure ulcers. Residents spell like they never been bathe. Flies and Roaches all over the building. Staff very un caring food is old and very undesirable. Cups and utensils are dirt. read more

My grandmother was here due to a fall and her neck became fractured. She was here for rehab. During here stay here, she got an open wound on her chin and neck from her neckbrace. After 7 weeks here and returning home and visiting her primary care physician, we found that she has two highly contagious bacterial infections in the two separate wounds. From the look of the wounds nothing was done to care for them or even prevent them during her stay. The care that the staff provide for the individuals in their care is horrendous. I would NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy. If you literally hate your loved one, then place them here. Ebony and many of the staff here need to be replaced. No longer having my grandmother in their care, Ebony tries to pretend to be our long last friend. Save it for someone that will actually believe you care. read more

A dear friend of mine was placed in this facility for rehab purposes. She is older and determined to continue living on her own. She went into this facility to get better and stronger. However, they are severely understaffed. She barely receives two hours of OT and PT a day. She is left alone for hours at a time. Instead of helping her walk to the bathroom, they put her in a diaper and expect her to just sit in it all day and night. There seems to be no night staff and the one person available has been so rude and hateful to my friend, she has been in tears most mornings. The food schedule is constantly late and having seen it, wouldn't feed it to my dog. I understand it almost always arrives cold too. While I understand COVID restrictions and staffing issues have caused many new problems, maybe Consulate shouldn't have accepted so many patients if they couldn't handle to give them the care they need. While I have met a few lovely staff members when I visit, most of them are running around and have no time to help due to their over-crowding and understaffing. Currently, we are looking to other options and getting our patient out of this place and into somewhere that can actually HELP. read more

This place should be closed by the state, and the owners jailed. The staff is so poor, so untrained, so uncaring, as to be at the level of shocking and appalling. They insisted on putting my mother in law in a sling swing to weigh her, even though she had just had surgery for 2 fractures in her hip and leg. Later the doctor was very angry and said it could have ruined the surgery. They said, in a sing songy childish voice, "We won't give you your meds if you don't let us weigh you..." so they use the meds as a bribe, they talk down to patients, and are clueless about the injuries they may be causing. They also left her on the side of a bed for an hour, after saying, "We'll be right back..." In other words, they forgot about her. And left her in a dangerous situation for an hour. All this in the first 2 days. Do not allow anyone you care about to go through these doors. As I said, they practice criminal malpractice. I suspect they have caused injuries, maybe worse. read more

Everyone at Consulate of Williamsburg was very nice and helpful. The social services staff are AWESOME. The ED and DON are very approachable-not behind closed doors as you see in other facilities. CHCW has the best clinical staff in the community. The Executive Director and Director of Nursing have built a great team and it really shows. The skilled nursing residents have the shortest stay in the area as well as the lowest return to hospital. read more

This is a great place to work. The physical Therapy department is the best in the area. They provide focused centered care to be able to reach the desired outcome. The management staff is very concerned with the care that the residents receive on a daily basis. The nurses are very attentive to making sure that the medications that they receive are the right meds to ensure that there are no conflicts with the other meds that they are on. The CNA staff are qualified individuals that have the residents care at the forefront of making sure care is a priority. Consulate prides themselves in allowing families to make their loved ones stay as personable as possible to make their rehab experience one that makes it feel.like home. As it relates to the residents that are at Consulate for Long Term Care it is always the practice to.make sure that they are loved as this is their home. Consulate makes sure that the residents have outside churches, and organizations to come in to entertain the residents since most can't go out into the community. Overall Consulate of Williamsburg is good at making the person feel like they are at home, whether it's for a short stay or long term. read more

If I have to place my mother in a facility for recovery, Consulate Health Care of Williamsburg is where we will go. The facility is clean and presentable and the staff seemed to stay actively involved. Of course it is not one on one in your own home, but all the basics are there and they seem to keep the activities calendar full. read more
