I set up several appointments for an inspection and good grief... from terrible phone skills to sales scare tactics onsite... I went through it all from so many licensed businesses. I had drone inspections, ladder inspections, small ladder roof line inspections, to someone that didn't bring a ladder and eyeballed a quote to me. I'm a car salesperson of 15 plus years and have seen so much in my line of business. Scaring someone into a repair is so low. I was referred to Refined Roofing from a friend. I had no expectations other than to be let down. I spoke to Mike over phone and had a very friendly conversation. Appointment was set, showed up on time, and had a ladder, walked the roof, took photos and sent us a quote on the product we selected. Based on my prior quotes this was a more than fair quote. We shook hands over the phone. I got financed for a portion and paid rest in cash. The job... super nice crew came out and stripped the roof and made repairs for inspections. The dirt and discarded materials was an eyesore for a few hours on the ground but when done my place was spotless. A day or so later the inspection was completed the roof was handled by a different crew. They were so kind and a courteous and really took pride in completing the job. At times it can be scary, fun, confusing, stressful, but in the end totally worth all of the money and hours spent researching/looking up ideas/consulting with your contractor. I had no idea what I wanted, I didn't know where to begin, and I was just lost. It all started when Fortino's company removed my popcorn ceiling, painted the living room, hallway, and kitchen, and textured the ceiling. After this small upgrade, my old out dated kitchen was bothering me & I wanted to do more. I started looking up Pinterest kitchens and decided I wanted to remodel my mom's kitchen. After hours of looking on Pinterest, I contacted Fortino again, to discuss a quote, show him pictures, and start the remodeling. Hold up, this sounds easy right? Look up something online, show contractor, and boom! Nope, I thought it was going to be easy peasy but it was not. Remodeling a home isn't pointing at things you like and showing pictures of things you want and don't want. It takes a lot of time AND effort to put everything together, every little detail is important! Fortino came out to my mom's home and was very professional and honest. I showed pictures of kitchens and floors I wanted, but still didn't really know what I wanted at all. I was very indecisive, Fortino was very good at giving me tips and ideas, but in the end my family and I will be living in it and ultimately everything is my decision. Fortino has a great eye for design and remodeling, his tips were helpful! In regards to finances, I had to wait a couple months for the kitchen remodel to make sure I had enough money. Again, you need to be financially ready for this! The beginning: LISTEN!!! To Fortino's recommendations. Don't try to be cheap!!! If you're not ready then save money, and remodel when you are. Fortino was very upfront with me, pretty much told me to do certain things first because it just makes sense. For example, I originally said I didn't want new bedroom/bathroom doors, door frames, or baseboards and after the kitchen remodel was done, I WANTED NEW DOORS!! Ahhh! I should a listened. Fortino had suggested this from the beginning since I was doing floors, I even got a quote for the doors! It's okay, I just went a little backwards. Fortino is honest and will tell you during the remodel things will come up and you either fix it or be cheap and don't fix it. Fortino doesn't pressure you, he will educate you! For example, during the kitchen remodel I had mold. He educated/informed me on what the consequences are if I don't fix it and gave me an estimate of the cost. I HAD to get rid of the mold, it was so gross and all over! Again, Fortino was very up front and honest with me. When remodeling an older home, things come up, you have to be financially and mentally prepared to pay more when things come up. The work: Wow, his team works fast, kept my home clean, arrived on time, excellent communication, extremely professional, meticulous, and really know what they're doing. Overall, I spent a little bit more than what I anticipated but it was totally worth it. I ended up going all out & am so happy with the remodel. I highly recommend this company!

Right from the get go, it was clear that he is an honest person and gave us a lot of confidence that he will be able to handle the project. We had to wait a few months to get the permit approval from the city, and Micky followed up with the permit officers diligently. He had his team ready to jump in with the demo, and started working on the project immediately after we received the permits. The project took a couple of months longer than expected (in part because we asked for some changes, and in part because Micky had underestimated some of the work). But we did not mind the delay as it was clear that Micky's team was doing the work properly and not cutting corners. One piece of advice: Micky gives you accurate timelines for his material options, but if you want other options then you will have to be on top of it yourself to make sure you get it in time. This is understandable, and once we realized it, we were able to better forecast when certain aspects of the project will be completed.
