Unfortunately this was due to miscommunication as they thought I only wanted to replace 75% of the curb facing siding... not sure why anyone would do that but okay miscommunication happens. Installation: where it was straight shiplap across the front, turned out fine. The window was promised to have a symmetrical thin border across as I was sent photos from the James Hardy website... attached you will see instead it is geometrically cut out to avoid the flashing... could have been made thin and uniform throughout however I was told that it was not possible. Many neighbors have gone through other companies and have the same sized retrofitted window but had the siding all done in the same manner. Mine is the only one that looks like this. Even the installer said "I think it looks cool, we never see it cut like that..." but when it comes to housing clean cut and uniform works for us. I was told later, this couldn't have been known before hand until the old siding and window edges were taken down. However the installer knew it from day 1 and said so to me. I believe that whoever the sales rep is should always be forthcoming with the possibilities of outcomes and what it may look like vs showing examples from the company website yet delivering something else. When I went up on the roof to paint the fresh wood I found multiple spots that were not caulked properly or nailed down. (See attached photos). These were fixed later when they came out to install and fix the remaining portion of siding that I had to pay for as well that I thought was included in the original quote. Again pleased with most of it but a major focal point is the front window which did not come out to expectations of what was originally shown. This is my revise review on P&R Lathing…read more To save time I won't go into all the details, but I hired P&R Lathing to remove and replace the weep screed and replace the black waterproofing paper at my home. When the work was finished, I believed everything had been done correctly and I initially left a positive review. I cannot remove the review so I am updating it. Later, I hired a mold remediation company to address a separate issue. During their work they removed a full wall of drywall. When they finished their process, the owner showed me that daylight was visible through multiple gaps at the bottom of the wall by the weep screed. If I didn't have the drywall removed I would have never known that the work was done improperly and would have ended up getting mold again. He explained that if the problem is not corrected, Moisture and pests can enter and mold will return. It appears that when P&R Lathing installed the weep screed, there are many gaps where you could see daylight from the outside. Because of this, insects came inside the house and had moisture intrusion entered the wall cavity, and during rains my mudsill, 2x4's and the interior of the black paper was wet. I had to run air blowers and a dehumidifier to dry the area to prevent mold from returning. I contacted Richard Warren, the owner of P&R Lathing, and asked him to resolve the problem. He said just put some caulking on the inside and outside. That is a band aid I paid almost $5,000 hired a licensed contractor because I wanted it to be done the right way! You are not supposed to put caulking on the outside or else you will get mold. I even offered to pay for the removal and replacement of the weep screed as long as it was corrected properly, without any additional profit to him since the original work had already been paid for. He had a worker paint on the foundation a cement sealer that didn't work. As a result, I filed a complaint with the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) and am currently waiting for them to resolve the issue. In my opinion, I would recommend hiring a different contractor. While the workers were doing the work, Richard never came by to check on the quality of the work. He only came at the beginning to show the crew where to do the work and returned again when the job was finished to collect the payment.

I contacted them and was told the owner miscommunicated with his worker and he came out personally for the quote next day. Due to other good reviews I gave him second chance. I told him the color for my house. He brought a sample. It did not match. So he did a color match and came with correct color next day. He hung around maybe 30 minutes to confirm it would dry to correct color even though I told him it was no necessary. They broke a sprinkle head and replaced it without me asking. I thought it was a bit pricey until I saw all the bad wood they replaced and all the extra effort they put into making sure there was a good water barrier. They took down awnings and put them back. Small crew of 3. Very polite. Worked hard. Very happy with result. They kept to their schedule. They gave me heads up that they had personal business one day but they came in on Saturday to complete. Almost forgot. A week later I asked if I could have the sample paint that did not match because I thought it would match another area of the house I could touch up. He brought it over the next day with no problem. I think most people would not have done that. There was nothing in it for him but a good review.
