We had severe damage to our laminate flooring after the dishwasher and refrigerator had been leaking...the water went under the flooring and nobody noticed until water was squishing up between the planks. Best no nonsense contractor we have ever met, he came in and looked at the job, gave us his quote and promised to stay as close to the quote as possible. He Handy Dan replaced three doors(check out the pictures ) all things considered, our home was built in the 60s and all the doors are original to the home. We knew there was earthquake foundation movement. Dan did an incredible job. I wanted French doors to replace our sliding glass doors, no light task as I had other installers say it couldn't be done. Here's what happened to me: 1 I was contacted at 7pm on the day of the job (which had been scheduled for a month) to say he was not available and would be coming the next day instead 2. Despite my sending 3 detailed pictures, and explaining what I wanted done, when he arrived Dan said there would be a substantial increase in price vs what he told me when we set up the appointment. 2 changing terms (repair was initially quoted to include things that were left out of revised bid, then I was charged extra to put them back in). 3. We had a 9yr old water heater that needed replacement. Dan was highly recommend by my uncle, who had used Dan for a kitchen remodel. Dan sent his plumber over and installed a new water heater. This was extremely convenient since I was able to send Dan and the plumber pictures over the phone and streamline the process. The plumber was able to show up at 8AM with the replacement 40gal water heater ready to install. I have been procrastinating for a couple of years on multiple small and some medium sized projects in and around my home. Dan was responsive and an excellent communicator. After a small house fire that took out our kitchen, Handy Dan and his crew really came to our rescue. They put together an initial bid to help us get back into our home quicker, and then another for the rest of the work. Our kitchen is about complete and the amount of detail, care and effort is more than I could have asked for. They were extremely flexible and adaptable with our old house. i would say my rating is more 4.75 but that's not an option so 5 it is. i found dan on yelp. he repaired a counter top & some under the sink water damage to the kitchen cabinets. he was able to replace the damaged boards and reenforced things so that things were safer to use again. upon reaching out, dan was very prompt to call me back & talk through the repairs he felt were appropriate after i texted him pictures. he was very communicative when i had any questions about the work or costs. he was able to start work after a holiday weekend when i reached out to him on a thursday between jobs. since the property is a rental, he was quick at turning around the estimate before work was booked and payment of receipt for my records after. dan was very realistic about what he felt was needed and the time/labor. he was reasonable with pricing and professional. he and his coworker wore masks (all day) and vacuumed up on the way out. the only thing to be aware of is that he prefers zelle or venmo and not credit card. not sure he accepts credit card to be honest. also, a deposit is likely required for bigger jobs which is understandable. in short, dan is a solid guy. and i would definitely use him again. i trust his judgement and suggestions for repairs. read more

I bought a large storage shed for my backyard and needed a concrete foundation for it. I called for a few estimates and Dan was reasonable and the work was exceptional. I had his team build the storage shed as well and couldn't be more pleased. My neighbors wanted to know what was going on and I showed them the work he did and they were extremely impressed. I needed a white vinyl fence installed in my Dad's backyard before he moved into his newly purchased home. Dan built 30' of 6' vinyl fence with a gate for me and I am very happy with it. He responded quickly to my call for a quote and came over to see the location and measure it up. I am in construction and could do the job myself but didn't have the time. He gave me a good price that was in line with the price checking I had done on materials.
