My first time getting nails here and Maggie hooked me up! I recommend her 100% because I love them!

Photos speak louder than words. Ellie did my lashes was so aggressive pulled my own lashes out and put excessive amounts of glue and was denied refund.

I love this place is really nice and clean. And it's always full of energy. The services is really great. Cherry table 23. Always do my Nails and they last for more than a month. Super friendly as well. I started doing my toes with Lily and she's really great too. I used to go to different places. I'm glad now that I took both of them in the same place.

I wish I gave it zero stars they messed up on my nails I wanted someone else to do my hands it took 2 hours for a regular gel manicure... I would never come here again.

My nails were a mess and didn't feel like sitting in traffic so I looked up the first nail place near me and despite the 3 stars i decided to give it a try! It did not disappoint! Despite it looking like a hole in the wall, it has space for over 30 stations between pedicure and manicure. It even has a vip area in the back which is a bit more private and extra tlc. Christine did my nails and she was wonderful. Lots of attention to detail, very gentle and soothing manner of doing nails. She literally put to sleep!

Here's what you can get at Contempo for 70 bucks!! A very sloppy mani pedi paired with terrible service!! I'm glad they got a good laugh at how messy their work was. I didn't even bother taking a picture of my toes .. bruh ‍. And don't get me started on the cuts and burns from the high speed drill

I've visited Contempo Nail Spa three times now, and it's been pretty decent each time. I usually get a short square full set and the #7 spa pedicure, which includes callous remover, paraffin wax, and a complimentary drink. With gel polish and a French tip, my total came to $67 for the pedicure and $55 for the full set. I stick to basic requests since designs can sometimes be hit or miss with the nail techs. The services are comfortable, and the massage chairs are heavenly after a long day. The staff is friendly, and the environment is nice, especially if you visit during off-peak times. I went on a Sunday afternoon around 3 PM as a walk in and there was no wait at all. If you come on a Friday or Saturday without an appointment, there may be 1.5hr wait. When it comes time to pay, Its fees for everything! I wanted to leave a $15 tip for my nail tech, but there's a $1 fee for debit card payments, and they don't accept tips on cards. Using the ATM is an additional fee, which makes tipping feel a bit complicated. If you plan to tip, bring cash! I'll continue to return if the service and quality stay consistent, but for more intricate designs, I might need to look elsewhere.

I have tried to keep it cordial with Contempo but today was my last straw. Ive been going here off and on for a year. I don't really have time to stick to 1 technician so I usually so I usually take whatever technician is available. Today, that was working against me, because I had the worst manicure that I have ever had. I went in, I asked for a manicure I. Usually get gel manicure or powder with French tip. When I tell you Every time I come, every technician's technique is so different that there's no consistency among quality that it is frustrating. I'm going to attach pictures. I literally just left and my nails are the color is bulky, nothing's in line, there's paint all over my fingers, not my actual fingernails. And it's just overall horrible job, I don't really have time to be haggling back-and-forth and yelling. So I left I literally drove right after to another's nail spot to get it changed. Contempo is not worth the high price. read more

As of December 2025 I continue to have Amanda as my nailtician. She does it all and is very creative with design. The best thing about Amanda's work is the quality. I've yet to have a diamond or charm fall off. Yeah Amanda!!!! read more

I have been coming to Contempo for years, and continue to because of how sure I am of the quality and of the fact that I will have a good experience. I always come with an idea for my nail sets, and Cherry and Tommy never fail to exceed my expectations. Mary and Lee exude the utmost hospitality, and I can always count on them for my pedicure services. Contempo is LA/Hawthorne/Gardena's best nail shop with the best vibe, and I always get what I pay for. Again, insanely huge shout out to Tommy and Cherry for the best acrylic sets and Mary and Lee for the most relaxing and thorough pedicure services!! read more

I went to Contempo Nails & Spa because a friend recommended it. However I will not be going back. I went on 2 separate occasions to get my nails done a little over 1 week apart. First visit, I went on a Thursday and got dip powder. By the following Wednesday, one of my nails chipped. I went back Saturday. I got a fill. By the following Friday, one nail came completely off like it was a press on. By Saturday a 2nd nail popped off. read more

Came in on 3/6 @ about 6pm got hard gel French tip, I came back to the salon less than 24 hours later as my nails had started chipping, they had me waiting for about an hour with no update or anything. I am absolutely disgusted and disappointed by the service. They charge me $120 for absolutely a joke of services. They didn't even offer a soak off just stares and judgements. Will never come back here again. read more

I got almond shape nails and the lady literally filed the sides of my nails so much to the point where my nails are in pain. You could see my real nail and the skin underneath my real nail. This shop was open before 10am and it was not crowded. I was greeted kindly and immediately seated. I requested a gel manicure and spa pedicure. Danny gave me an iced coffee and did my pedicure 1st. I chose callous remover, 2 scrubs, a foot mask and paraffin wax. The massages were really nice and I was enjoying the massage chair, at the same time. I have spine issues so this meant a lot to me. I paid $95 for Gel-X nails and walked out with uneven, crooked nails that looked completely rushed and unprofessional. I pointed out the issues right away, and instead of fixing them or offering a fair solution, they only wanted to give me a $5 refund--which is honestly insulting for the quality I received. The shape, alignment, and finish were all off. Save your money and go somewhere that actually cares about their work and their customers. read more

I do not recommend this place. The staff is unprofessional; they damaged my nails, filing them so much that they injured my skin. They were very rude. I definitely do not recommend them. As soon as you notice something you don't like, don't stay silent, and if they get upset, leave, because they won't do a good job and it will only get worse, and you'll end up getting hurt. That also happened to a client who was sitting next to me. read more

$65 for the original set. 14 days later $65 for the fill because I had two nails cracking. 2 days later a broken nail (that damn near took my whole nail, pictured on the left). Today is day three, another broken nail (pictured on the right). It was one thing that the lady, Ivy, who did my pedicure, the second time, had a bad attitude, but it's another thing that the quality is soap piss poor. I don't mind going every two weeks but every 2 to 3 days when I had a full done that cost the exact amount as my regular full set is where I'm getting annoyed. So they're doing all this remodeling, but they're keeping low quality products, I guess. read more

My scalp treatment followed and she talked me through each step as she went along, which I really appreciated. She has such a soothing voice and is generally a lovely person. Booking took a little effort since I came through Groupon, but once I texted Yvonne (phone number on the website) and she called me back right away, we were able to book a date. Looking forward to booking this again for my BD next month.

my sister bought me this head spa groupon as a birthday gift and i really enjoyed my experience…read morehere. i enjoyed it so much that i decided to buy the same groupon for my mom for mother's day. unfortunately, she had a completely different experience. she initially called to make an appointment and the merchant said that they are not accepting groupons at this time. so i contacted groupon to cancel and receive a refund and they said that they cannot process a refund, but they will contact the merchant for clarification. later, groupon reached out again and said that the merchant confirmed that they are in fact actively accepting groupons. confused, my mom contacted the spa again to make an appointment and she successfully made one. upon arrival to her appointment, nobody was there. my mom said that she called them, and they said that they "forgot" about the appointment and that they can reschedule for later that day. my mom was upset about the situation and so she decided to wait for another day to reschedule. when she was finally ready to reschedule, she tried calling and texting multiple different times to schedule and nobody was answering. at this point, my mom was upset and she just doesn't really feel comfortable doing business there anymore and so she said that i should just request a refund. when i tried contacting groupon again explaining the entire situation, they were incredibly dismissive, were not taking any accountability, and kept repeating that the merchant is actively accepting groupon, even though this is clearly not the case. they were unable to give me a refund, and only offered my money in "groupon bucks", which i don't even feel comfortable using because this is clearly not a reliable platform. i just wanted to warn anybody out there to please use caution when using groupon, and definitely contact the business before buying the groupon because you just never know. additionally, groupon will not help you at all and will force you to use their unreliable platform because they refuse to give refunds even if a situation is completely out of the customer's hands.

I reached out and Su was kind enough to get me in to fix them a couple hours later. I came in crying and worried my lashes were going to fall out, I was assured it was an easy fix and my lashes would not fall out so we proceeded. In the studio, the fix looked fine, certainly better than before. I was refunded. I think if I had the lash lift with Su originally I would've been pleased with the results and the experience as the studio space is nice. Unfortunately, 2 hours after the fix the lashes started to retain the shape of the first lift again. I reached out again asking what I could do as they had gone back. The text I received back restated what had happened, but did not offer advice. I tried to clarify with a longer description of what was happening and said I was asking for advice. I did not hear from her again. This morning I woke up to my lashes falling out in clumps and the lashes that are left have all broken in half. I'm devastated. I have been getting lash lifts for years and have never had anything like this happen. It is going to take a very long time for my lashes to grow back. I was assured nothing bad would happen in the correction and it was an easy fix. Again, I was refunded, but it's not about the money. My lashes are ruined.

Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. If your feet are in need of TLC, renewal and restoration, Ms. Glen has a carefully curated service that will leave your feet feeling brand new. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

I was told the card on file couldn't be used for the service--only for late fees or no-shows--which made no sense. If the salon can charge the card for penalties, why not for the actual service being provided? This was especially frustrating because the appointment was a gift for a huge accomplishment of mine, from my mother, so of course I didn't have the physical card with me. On top of that I was also charged extra for nail length without warning, and billed twice for polish: $20 for gel color and $15 for French tip, even though I only received 1 design; french tip. When I asked for clarification, staff just pointed to the online pricing--but I booked in person to avoid that confusion. The experience felt misleading. I intentionally came in person to avoid confusion and relied on the staff to guide me accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. If you're considering booking here, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for more transparent and customer-friendly service.

I came here with hopes of redeeming them, but I should've stuck to my guns. The guy who did my nails was extremely rushed. When I walked in, I told him I wanted a fill. When we started, he informed me that my previous set was done with powder. However I told him I wanted gel polish with a french tip. We agreed, but then when he started he continued to redo my nails with the same color I already had on. He tried to argue with me and I said it's okay if you have to take them off but you didn't even give me the option... Moving on to the take off. He proceeded with o take my previous set off solely with a nail tip. Why is this a thing?? I will happily wait for a soak off, but forcing me into it is crazy. He also seemed irritated that I wanted a soak off instead of hurting my nails. During the remainder of my service, everything he was doing was super fast and rushed, the lady next to me was going at a decent pace - so I was confused as to why he was moving so fast. The video attached will show you how fast he was going. Now it's the next days and the french tip (which I paid for) is already coming off! Idk if it was because he was going so fast it didn't cure, the lamp or the polish. I am extremely irritated. There is also a piece of hair under one of nails which means this was curated into my nail as it was drying. Smh I miss when Contempo wasn't so focused on being in a rush to make money instead of quality service . I recently revisited Contempo Nails in Inglewood, where I had previously enjoyed an excellent experience during my birthday celebration in November, thanks to Nathan's exceptional service in the VIP section. However, my visit on December 18th was disappointing. I had hoped to try a new cat nail design, but the technician, Lewis, struggled to execute it effectively. Despite my attempts to provide constructive feedback, the results fell short of my expectations, and I could sense his frustration as well. After paying $90, I was disheartened by the lack of professionalism, particularly since my hands were not washed during the service. I arrived at 2:30 PM and ended up waiting until 5:33 PM for Nathan to redo my nails, only to be informed by Lewis that I would incur an additional charge of $35. Although I was unhappy with this, a staff member later assured me that I would not have to pay extra. When I inquired about the shop's closing time, the receptionist mentioned that the last walk-in is accepted at 6 PM. A gentleman kindly approached me to ask whom I was waiting for and escorted me to a chair for my service, as I simply wanted my nails done. I recommend that anyone seeking service request to observe the quality of work from a manicurist before making a final decision to ensure satisfaction. WORST PEDI OF MY LIFE! I have been going here for many years. I have certain ppl for nails and pedi HOWEVER if they aren't available I should still get what I paid for! Yday the guy who did my pedi almost let the water in the bowl run over that should of been a sign! He was rushing and did not use the cuticle cream nor did he clean under the nail etc and he tried to do the scrub part with nothing on it but water! Then he put my feet in the water and did not dry them and was about to polish them wet. I finally had enough of telling him how to do his job and called Stacy over (the owner) but he still didn't do any better. My polish was whack and sadly I will no longer go there. I paid $16 for someone to dip my feet in water. No oil, no lotion nothing but water was involved in this pedi. I feel the managers could of handled it better. Phillip said sorry and walked off which pissed me off. I go there every 2 weeks over 10 yrs and I know what a decent pedi involves and I never complain they could of did more to rectify this situation! This has only happened to me once before here and the owner's mom was the manager that day and she got me a new tech to fix it. But Phillip cared less so I will take my money elsewhere! Who has a pedi where you must apply your own lotion or oil before you leave because the tech had none!!!!! Smh read more

I used to love this place it's next to my job so I come very often. I came requesting one style and the lady ( Maggie) said she could do it for me. 30 minutes later she then says they don't have the strips. So I say okay that's fine can you do gold lines with the polish and she then says yes and I happily allow her to finish. After painting all my nails and putting them under the UV light she THEN tells me she can't do what I asked her to do (I will provide photos) and she also says "oh I don't care" when I said I wanted gold lines across my nails. I was appalled but I didn't even make a scene. I paid and left. Later that day my thumb has a hump (I will provide photos of this too. Long story short I am never going back. She rushed my nails and for some reason my GEL was not completely dry! I went to have my nails redone at my original shop in Carson today and my nail tech showed me where the polish wasn't even dry under! So I didn't get the style I wanted and I wasted money on nails that weren't dry. I had Leah from Leahs's nail shop redo my nails and she did a beautiful job. So, I went to get my nails done, and let me just say--I'm not naming any names. My nail tech is too good, and I'm not about to risk her being fully booked when it's my turn. Call me selfish if you want, but it is what it is. That said, everyone at the salon is super nice, so you're in good hands no matter who you get. Now, let me be real for a second--there's this one lady who does eyebrows. She's loud, wears glasses, rocks a long ponytail, and sometimes wears heels. If you've been there, you probably know exactly who I'm talking about. She's got a big personality, but honestly, she's not for me. I went to her once, and while her work was okay, she begged me for a tip. That's just not my vibe. I tip because I want to, not because I'm pressured into it. Needless to say, I won't be booking her again. Next time I go, I'll check her station number so I can keep you all updated on who to avoid. Contempo has been my nailshop for almost a year. I love their customer service from Philip to Tommy and all the rest of the workers there. Everytime I come it's nothing but laughter and jokes, not the awkward silence you get from normal nail spas. T Lynn #18 did my nails and when I say she HOOKED them up I mean it!! So fire and got me ready for my trip! Ivy did my feet (VIP room is the ONLY way I do my feet) once we got to the massage part I fell asleep lmao AMAZING! Toes are fresh and on point! I love going here .. I love their service until I met a facialist name Amanda . I she gave me the most horrible facial , it was as short as 20 mins!! I am not kidding! I even asked her few time to move the steamer directly to my face that the steams goes to my nostrils straight up! Maggie is amazing super neat and she takes her time !! She's patient and I love love my nails !!! Maggie is really so sweet and the best nail technician ever as soon as I walked in every one was so nice they offer you something to drink, they speak well English ! I have been coming to contempo nails for the last five years. The service and quality is always good. They always get me quickly in and out. Kim is the best for lashes, eyebrows, and your wax needs. Henry is the best for manicures. Henry is able to do pretty much any nail design you ask for. Once I tried him out I never went to anyone else. I really like this nail salon. read more

I have been coming to this nail shop since right after Covid and it is always a good experience. I always go to T. Lynn for my nails. She does an amazing job every time. She is very nice, professional, and will go above and beyond. She does amazing designs and can do whatever design you bring to her. I highly recommend going to her for your nails. Ask for T. Stopped in this nail salon while visiting the Los Angeles area and decided on pedicures. Maggie Vu was an excellent nail tech. She helped my friend step out of her comfort zone and try a new color and style of nail. Maggie Vu was helpful with selections and provided us with a great experience. Vann and Emma were amazing! I have recently come out of heavy depression from well over 9 mos. they were very gentle with me and worked diligently with me to make me see how beautiful God made me again!
