Terrible Pedicure Experience I came in today, 8/21, for a regular pedicure. No wait, so I sat in chair 11. About 5 minutes later, Sophia came over, turned on the water and immediately started yelling "gel, gel." I told her I wanted a regular pedicure, and her whole attitude changed. There wasn't even any soap added to the water...just water and what looked like dirt/debris in the basin. She was scraping my feet extremely hard and using the same dirty water and scrub to clean my feet, then putting that same scrub back on me. I'm looking around everybody has bubbles inside their bucket, not I know bubbles isn't extra? Because that's soap!!! The funniest part? I learned her name was Sophia because a VIP client walked in, and that's when my 15-minute pedicure suddenly came to an end. For $43, this was absolutely not worth it. The experience felt rushed, uncomfortable, and unsanitary. I'll be posting a picture because the water speaks for itself. July 26, 2026 On July 26, 2026., I visited Contempo Nail & Spa, located at 2852 W. Imperial Highway, Inglewood, CA 90303, for a gel manicure and pedicure. The total cost of the services was $`57.00. After the services were completed, I paid the manicurist, Peter, with a $100 bill that I had received directly from my bank. After accepting the payment, he walked to the back of the shop instead of remaining at the front register. When he returned, he informed me that the $100 bill was counterfeit. I was surprised and asked for the bill back so I could examine it myself. My request was refused. Instead, I was shown a different `$100 bill that appeared heavily worn and marked, which I did not believe was the same bill I had provided. As the situation escalated, multiple employees gathered around me. I felt intimidated and pressured. During this time, my cell phone was held as collateral while I went to my vehicle to retrieve additional money to pay for the services. This made me feel frightened, unsafe, and coerced. While I was still inside the salon, other customers mentioned they had experienced similar issues. I cannot verify their statements, but hearing them increased my concern about the situation. Because of this incident, I no longer feel comfortable doing business with this salon. I encourage customers to ensure that any cash they provide is inspected in their presence, and to keep records of their payments. I have tried to keep it cordial with Contempo but today was my last straw. Ive been going here off and on for a year. I don't really have time to stick to 1 technician so I usually so I usually take whatever technician is available. Today, that was working against me, because I had the worst manicure that I have ever had. I went in, I asked for a manicure I. Usually get gel manicure or powder with French tip. When I tell you Every time I come, every technician's technique is so different that there's no consistency among quality that it is frustrating. I'm going to attach pictures. I literally just left and my nails are the color is bulky, nothing's in line, there's paint all over my fingers, not my actual fingernails. And it's just overall horrible job, I don't really have time to be haggling back-and-forth and yelling. So I left I literally drove right after to another's nail spot to get it changed. My nails were a mess and didn't feel like sitting in traffic so I looked up the first nail place near me and despite the 3 stars i decided to give it a try! It did not disappoint! Despite it looking like a hole in the wall, it has space for over 30 stations between pedicure and manicure. It even has a vip area in the back which is a bit more private and extra tlc. I usually get a short square full set and the #7 spa pedicure, which includes callous remover, paraffin wax, and a complimentary drink. With gel polish and a French tip, my total came to $67 for the pedicure and $55 for the full set. I stick to basic requests since designs can sometimes be hit or miss with the nail techs. The services are comfortable, and the massage chairs are heavenly after a long day. The staff is friendly, and the environment is nice, especially if you visit during off-peak times. I went on a Sunday afternoon around 3 PM as a walk in and there was no wait at all. If you come on a Friday or Saturday without an appointment, there may be 1.5hr wait. When it comes time to pay, Its fees for everything! I wanted to leave a $15 tip for my nail tech, but there's a $1 fee for debit card payments, and they don't accept tips on cards. Using the ATM is an additional fee, which makes tipping feel a bit complicated. If you plan to tip, bring cash! I'll continue to return if the service and quality stay consistent, but for more intricate designs, I might need to look elsewhere. read more

Service : 3 visits and I feft not only time lost plus the 60$ plus. Both provides were not consistent. My nails looked tacky, thick looking and mishapen, polish on cuticles, another time the gel was showing over my cuticles. The color I chose had black speckles which, I didn't ask for and unfortunately I didn't notice until later. This shop was open before 10am and it was not crowded. I was greeted kindly and immediately seated. I requested a gel manicure and spa pedicure. Danny gave me an iced coffee and did my pedicure 1st.
