We were in the market for a crossover SUV and I reached out to Continental for quotes on the '25 RAV4. My initial request was a breakdown of the list price, taxes, doc fees, and total OTD amount for an XLE premium with weather package. Daniela Valdes reached out from the internet sales team and requested additional information to gather all the info she needed to present the OTD price and I was able to provide everything she asked for. We had four back and forth exchanges where she proceeded to send links to the RAV4 models, with a couple of them at the MSRP price. She would not provide the OTD price after multiple exchanges and when I mentioned she was not providing the info I was looking for and a request for someone else to assist, she got defensive and said there was no lack in communication on her end. I was re-assigned to Mostafa and he provided an OTD price below MSRP within an hour of our first email exchange, so I'm not sure why Daniela was not able to provide that same info. Hopefully she receives better training and mentorship to advance her career, as there was a clear issue in communication and did not respond well to feedback from a potential customer. Trying to get a car and while understanding my budget is not the most feasible for the specific car I want, Jennifer is consistently responding and just saying I can't afford it even when I ask to hear the numbers. I'm disgusted and disappointed in this behavior knowing I would've been willing to go up in my budget for the car. Starting at the easy check in where someone comes to your car, helps you out of the car, and escorts you to the waiting room which is huge and so clean! Let me start by saying that buying a car in today's market is not fun by any stretch of the imagination. Throw in the fact that we wanted one of the best selling models when there's already a shortage of cars in stock, and you have a nightmare situation for buyers. I joined multiple wait lists and kept checking the allocation list until I found one that matched what I needed, a Grand Highlander Hybrid Limited with bench seating. I messaged the dealership and received an email from Andrea with a charming mini video of her saying hi asking to set up a call. We agreed on a time and she was very knowledgeable and told me that it's be worth it to come into the dealership. I made an appointment and was greeted by Alit. Alit did everything he could to help me get the car at the price I wanted. We weren't able to come to an agreement at the time, and I had to run to another appointment, so negotiations ended there. A few days later I did a search on Toyota.com and did an inquiry on a car, not realizing it was the same car. Andrea saw my inquiry and had Alit call me. We were able to come to an agreement over the phone, and we went in to sign and make a deposit the same day. I thought that would be the last I heard from Continental until the car was delivered, but Andrea went above and beyond with calling and texting me to keep me informed of the status of the car. Alit also checked in with updates as the car was built, processed, and delivered. Pick up went smoothly, Alit went through the entire process of setting our phones up with the car, explaining all of the car features, and even reached out to coworkers for info and called me days later with answers to questions we had about the functionality. Overall, Andrea and Alit were an amazing team that really helped get us into a car at a terrible time to be a car buyer. We drove away feeling good about the deal, confident in our choice, and thankful for the experience. read more

I just purchased a "new to me" used Prius from Continental Toyota in Countryside, IL. We've purchased several Toyotas (mostly from Continental Toyota) since the early 80's. We've only had great experiences, especially in the maintenance and service department. Our most recent purchase was the first time that I've handled everything - starting by looking at cars when my car was in the service department getting new tires. While I was looking at used cars on the lot, Michael Zalewski (salesman) walked out to welcome me and ask if he could help. I was totally impressed by him for: #1 asking in older woman if she needed help (I've been ignored in the past unless I was with my husband) #2 not being pushy #3 listening and not doing all of the talking #4 being patient, and yet communicating with me after the visit #5 once again not being pushy after the visit I'm an artist and VERY hard on cars - think transporting not-yet-dry artwork, clay dust and damp clay (otherwise known as mud), on clothes and shoes. Also I tend to drive over the curb when backing out of our driveway (but perhaps no longer with the new back-up camera!), and always pulling forward too much and scraping the bumper. I'm in the city a lot and have to parallel park in tight places, resulting in multiple nicks on my bumpers. I'd told him that we were in the market for a used Prius (current one has over 140,000 miles) with lower mileage. But not necessarily in a hurry to buy one. My #1 motivating factor to get a new car was safety. I drive on the highway a lot and have had some close calls because I didn't see a car in my blind spot. I wanted a car with the blinking light in the mirror to warn me (we have this on our newer Sienna). My husband actually found the car I bought on-line, I sent Michael an email and met up with him the next day. Once again I was impressed because he'd listened to what I wanted and didn't want (no extended warrantee -- we buy Toyotas because they are so reliable!). I was provided with the history of the car and a great price. I couldn't be happier with the car, the experience with the salesman, and I know from our many past experiences how great the service department is! read more

Deceptive sales tactics! Tried to buy a Prius I found online. First question I asked Damien the salesman was if the price listed on the internet was the actual sales price to which he said yes. After I said I would purchase the car he added $1798 to the price, said it was for the Premiere Defense Package, I said I didn't want it. He said I didn't have to take the package but I would still have to pay the extra $1798 because it was actually a market adjustment added by the dealership because the Prius's are popular. Damien said the added market adjustment was on their website but when I asked him to show me it wasn't there. Liars! I ended up buying a Prius at Elgin Toyota where they were discounting their Prius's for $1000 or more. read more

Review of the Sales Department only. The service department gets four stars. The service department took care of my 2010 Toyota Prius for about three years and they did a fantastic job. It was time for me to trade in my Prius and do an upgrade for a new Prius. This time I wanted a lease. I had already done my homework online on the Toyota website and knew I would have to wait about two months to get the vehicle. I knew my payment would be somewhere around $450 a-month for the lease. This would be including my trade. I let the sales guy know that I sold cars for several years. I let him know. I didn't want to play games on the numbers. My husband and I went in with our checkbook ready to put a deposit on the new Toyota vehicle and the sales manager quoted us a lease payment of $760. Ridiculous. He countered 30 minutes later at $654. my husband and I walked out and never went back. It has now been a year later and we are happy with our 2023 Hyundai Sonata limited hybrid with the lease payment of $430 a month. We walked into Hyundai told them the type of vehicle we wanted, the options, and left the same day with the car. I don't get the 60mpg like I wanted, but 42mpg in a full size car isn't bad at all. Unfortunately Toyota has forever lost our business. read more

This dealership is nothing but money grabbing scam artists. We bought a used Toyota Sequoia from a Toyota Dealership in Missouri because we couldn't find one available/we liked locally. We had it shipped to Continental Toyota to have it inspected (thinking we're doing due diligence) and have them help with Illinois registration. Without inspecting the car they first tried to sell us warranties, then they inspected it to find 8k worth of repairs/labor charges. We had an outside mechanic look at the car- none of the issues merited concern. Then, the dealership repeatedly tried to give us 2 cash offers for the car so they can flip it and sell it here. We will never go back to this dealership or get a car serviced here. Beware! read more

The service department is the most disorganized operation available. I purchased a vehicle from this place and have been dissatisfied from the minute I had to return to get a tire change. The service department changed the wrong tire i brought the truck in with a nail in the tire and showed them the nail how do you change the wrong tire at that point. To compensate me they gave me a free oil change, which I appreciated. I was hesitant to return but needed a oil change and figured I would try I again. So I called and made an appointment, upon arrival the next day, the service department told me that no appointment existed and I would be treated as a walk in. Absolutely unacceptable treatment I had to to loose my patience and threaten a manger to be treated as a customer with an appointment. I do not trust the servicve department. They charged for work that they either didn't do or did incorrectly and I had to take it to a local shop to re-do what they claimed to do. They also took advantage of my spouse and sold them an unnecessary service. I made dozens of phone calls to rectify this and left several messages and received zero return calls. When I went in the person I needed to talk to was always on lunch or not in that day. I will avoid at all costs, and based on this experience I'm done with Toyotas. read more

I brought my car in for regular maintenance. I mentioned that it was hard starting after sitting for many hours and that I thought the battery may need to replaced . I was told that they could not address any issues without charging $175 for a full diagnostic. I was further informed that any problems found would be resolved and deducted from the price of the diagnostic up to a point which I do not recall, but it was minimal. I was confused because other dealerships checked my car as part of routine maintenance. I went to pick up my car and the mechanic had left. The bill was over $525. This included the diagnostic and I assumed a new battery. I questioned this exorbitant amount and was told that I got a new battery. I still felt the bill was high but I was satisfied. The next day, I was out on the road and my battery failed leaving me stranded in a restaurant parking lot! I had to take it in to another place close by to buy a battery for $259 more! I called the service center and was very politely told "too bad". They said that they couldn't reach me for authorization although I signed an authorization whenI left the car. I refused to accept this answer and asked if they could at least replace some filters that they recommended instead and I would feel a bit less taken to the cleaners. My very friendly Service consultant said fine. So I brought it in and was told I could have ONE complimentary filter, not both. So now i waited over an hour for one $40 filter and paid $55 for the other. To sum it up, I paid $600 for an oil change and a brake flush and an air filter. Not to mention the $250 to Pep Boys for a new battery. Furthermore, I knew it was the battery. So how can trained mechanics not figure that out without a "full diagnostic" ? And, yes, the place was clean, the waiting area was great, the service consultant was gracious and friendly, but I am out of $800! All I have to say about this whole situation is that you could at least have kissed me first. read more
