What an unfortunate experience at this Toyota dealership. This was my second visit this year, and unfortunately, the customer service was just as disappointing as the first. The sales staff seemed uninterested in helping customers, and it genuinely felt like our presence was an inconvenience. In particular, a salesperson named Mike left a very negative impression. His attitude was dismissive, unprofessional, and far from what I would expect when making such an important purchase decision. I came in seriously considering a Toyota Land Cruiser, but after my interaction with him, I decided to take my business elsewhere. To make matters worse, the showroom itself did not reflect the level of quality I associate with Toyota. Several display vehicles appeared dirty, unfinished, or poorly presented. There was even a Toyota Tundra on display that appeared partially assembled, with boxes and debris still sitting in the truck bed. Used to be my favorite Mazda dealership, when it was CJ Wilson, even when I had pain issues with my first CX-5 (Soul Crystal Red), the service department was awesome. Then Napleton bought the dealership and a lot of the original people left, it changed m, but I got my 2nd CX-5 from them anyways and the experience was ok. I changed and started going to the dealership in Orland, but that seemed worse than Napleton so went back. A couple of the original service techs came back and things were ok. I seriously thought about leaving Mazda because I had issues, windshields were replaced in both CX-5s and I had technical issues, the infotainment system that no one could figure out. But I gave them a third chance and bough an upgraded CX-5 this time and things seemed great, bought the maintenance package and supposedly extra coverage that really doesn't cover much (finding out later) and there are issues (windshield needs to replaced, car isn't two months old yet) and there's an engine sound that no one but me seems to hear. They can't get the infotainment system right and the wireless charging pad is poorly designed. I love the way the car drives...and looks. I haven't found a different auto brand that is better, I looked at Honda and Toyota. Guess this really should be a review on Mazda period, but a dealership that listens to your concerns and actively tries to do something counts for something...but they just want to sell you a car and once that's done...‍. And the guy who sold me kept pressing for me to give him a 5 star review...wish I could remember where I put that review on so I can change it...took them forever to pay off my trade in so had to be bombarded by calls and emails from Mazda Financial about "missed payments". Any better Mazda dealerships out there? I'd really like to know.... read more

We had a great experience buying our first Mazda from Napleton Countryside earlier this spring. We first visited the dealership a few months before we ended up purchasing to test drive a CX-5, learn about the model, and compare Mazda to other car brands with similar midsize SUVs. We were greeted by Andrew who diligently answered all of our questions and spent a lot of time with us despite being clear we wouldn't be buying that day. Since this was our first car purchase in a long time, I was worried salespeople would be pushy and eager to make a sale, but Andrew wasn't that way at all--just helpful, friendly, and attentive. Andrew kept in touch via email and when we decided on a Mazda CX-5 and were ready to purchase about six weeks later, he was immediately responsive and helped us buy quickly. After checking inventory online, we reached out to Andrew on a Saturday with the exact color and model we wanted and he said we could see it ASAP that day. After a test drive, we were ready to buy and Andrew walked us through the entire process and explained every upgrade or add-on option. I appreciated that he kept our budget in mind and wasn't too pushy--we felt great about the car we were getting without feeling pressured to overspend. The price we were offered for the CX-5 was at the same MSRP as we saw online for that model, which was great. In general, the CX-5 was more affordably priced compared to similar midsize SUVs we looked at and felt a lot more high-end. It's a great option and we feel we got a lot of bang for our buck with this car. We did not need financing for this purchase, so I can't speak to that part of the process. However, we did sell our 2009 Volkswagen Jetta to the dealership and, after some (easy) negotiating, felt we got a really fair price for the vehicle. Plus, the title exchange (for the trade-in) and payment portion of our visit was quick, super easy, and thoroughly explained. As for the dealership itself, we found it to be really nice compared to some others we visited in the area. Everyone we encountered was really friendly and helpful and walked us through every step of the shopping and buying process. I received a call from a sales representative yesterday. I couldn't make out his name (Andy, Angel or Andrew). He started off like most car sales representatives do by saying that he saw that I was looking for a Mazda and wanted to know what vehicle I was interested in and how he could help. It wasn't a good time for me to discuss details of purchasing a vehicle at that moment and when I asked him if I could give him a call back he said "that means you're not going to call me back, ok, bye". When he hung up I had no idea what to make of that, I had never experienced a sales representative from a car dealership speaking to a potential buyer that way. To his surprise I called back a few hours later and asked to speak to a sales manager. He asked if he could help me with something and I told him he couldn't and that I needed to speak with a manager. He said that the only manager at the dealership was a finance manager and one sales manager and they were busy. He asked for my name and phone number and that someone would call me back. He called me back a few minutes later and said that a manager would have to call me on Monday and asked when would be a good time. It seems like a load of shit. Unless, the owner of the dealership is going to call me and have that sales rep apologize or intervene in some way then it's not worth my time. I'm not sure what training sales reps get, but you won't get vehicles sold speaking to people that way. I would never enter your dealership after that conversation and if anyone mentioned your dealership to me in the future I would be sure to tell them about the conversation I had with that sales rep. read more

If there were NO Stars, I'd be good with this. Well, Sorry to do this to Countryside Mazda, but looks like I have to. 2013 Hyundai Genesis purchased with this dealership. Right at 30 days and Airbag goes bad, EPB goes bad (Electronic Parking Brake) as well as as safety inspection showing rear shocks are shot! These are safety issues!!!! Used car, yes. However, after spending money to have this thing diagnosed and inspected by one of the best in Des Moines, Iowa, the report was given off to the Napleton (Countryside Mazda) group where I bought the car. It took them 3 days to get back to me. Andres let me know that there is nothing they can do for me! Nothing! I said, several times, that they have a safety issue on their hands here. That didn't seem to phase him at least! Nope. "Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do for you!" That's NOT good enough. Airbags, Electronic Parking Brake Motor and Rear Shocks just do not suddenly go bad in 30 days. I've had used cars all my life. There is something they MISSED on their own "safety inspection" sheet! I bought this car online, basically, and came from out of town to buy it. That was ok and the experience went well. Until I had this issue this week and now I am staring down the barrel of possibly a 5K dollar fix? NO WAY! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE PEOPLE! Period! This WILL be made right! read more

I was racially profiled at this dealership. The salesman refused to give me any details regarding a new CX-5. His first response to when I wanted to see a CX-5 - "We don't do the discounts thing, just so you know" I was told that "We don't have any to sell" when I could see 3 other white customers in the room being told otherwise being attended by an army of salesmen. When asked what options are available for buying, the salesman told me that you can visit the website. We were also kept waiting for 15 minutes because the salesman disappeared after giving us the keys for a test drive and didn't want to return. The only reason I am giving a one star for this dealership is because the service technicians I had the pleasure of speaking with were very kind and understanding. The gentleman I had the displeasure of conversing with was Nate who calls himself "a high-end car salesman". I explained my situation to the service technicians of my mother buying a CX5 in 2021 and receiving a free apple car play installation with the purchase. I was calling to inquire if the free installation would still be honored. The service techniqtions were kind and explained that if sales agrees to honor the free apple car play installation they would be glad to help me. I was then transferred to Nate who not only made me feel inferior and stupid but also inferred how it was ridiculous of me to ask this question. Nate was fast to talk down to me and ask if the car had a plug to plug the phone in and explained if there was a plug the car already had apple car play. I explained to him how that was not accurate, Nate then took the time to research the the car to shockingly discover I was telling the truth. Nate then decided to change his tone and tell me how he fought for me to have the car play installed and offer the car-play without his commission at 500 dollars. When I explained to Nate how I felt disrespected and talked down during entire conversation he shared how he's sorry and that he "sells 30-40 cars a month" because he's a "high-end car salesman" . I explained how that I was merely a nurse but him being a high-end car salesman selling many cars a month doesn't give him the right to be demeaning to others. My review goes to Alberto & Miguel. I would purchase a car from either of them again. My salesman was Alberto. I purchased cx5, and it had a small chip on passenger side and needed a paint job on the front bumper. They were minior, but not acceptable for a brand new car. I was ok with them as long as the dealership can get the paint job done looking like a brand new car since getting scratches are unavoidable living in Chicago. But I still want it look like a perfect brand new car, and I told Alberto I do not want to come back more than once to pick up my car due to any incomplete paint job. However, the first paint job was not perfect, and Alberto truthfully disclosed it on th phone. He could have lied about it and told me that he needed more time for the paint job. But he did not, and he was honest about it. So, after the second paint job, Albero told me he did a through inspection himself more than once and told me it's ready fo a pick up. I couldn't find the two places that needed paint job. While I prefer not to have any scratches at the time of purchase, I understand that it can happen, and the way Albero handled it was well done. And I appreciated the honesty (the first paint job not being perfect). Miguel was another sales rep, who helped during this process when Albero was not there. He didn't get any commission out of it since my sales rep was Alberto. But he was super nice, and he relayed my message to Albero very well. read more

I count a certified preowned from Toni here this week. This was the first big purchase I had made on my own so I was really nervous. But Toni walked me through everything, answered all my questions promptly and put me at ease. She was very helpful and has even checked on me a few days later to make sure I'm doing well. This is a terrible time to buy a car, and like I said the first purchase I had made since my dad died two years ago (he helped me with this stuff). It's been a very positive experience. Carrie (service) and Joe C (shop) saved the day. 5 stars for them. But since the service repair is about the manager and lack of care, he gets -4 stars, hence 1 star. This isn't food at a restaurant, this is a method of transportation being serviced. I had made an appointment on Saturday, for Monday morning. Upon arrival, Ralph made it very clear that he just wanted me to pull my car in and sign a paper (what?). Ralph wouldn't listen to specific instructions for my vehicles modifications. So the shop couldn't start my car or work on it because Ralph REFUSED to listen. Ralph needs an upgrade. He should NOT be dealing with customers. The lack of Ralph's customer service made me want to ralph and bring my business else where... within the first 2 minutes of our exchange, around 10am, he CLEARLY wasn't listening or going to. Ralph acted as if he knew what I was talking about. Ha!! Wellllll after I dropped off my car, left the shop, was already in the city, I was contacted and informed that the shop was having problems working on my vehicle, which has NEVER happened before!!!!!!! It WOULD have been avoided, had Ralph been doing his job correctly (it is in customer care) and listened in the first place. At this point Carrie had to phone me back to repeat the special instructions that I attempted to tell Ralph upon arrival. They tried again, but it dint work. Since I am busy in the city, I don't find this out until the ride back returning from the city....planning to pick up my car. Nope, I hung out at the shop for another hour or so..... my car was there for about 6 hours ..... oil change...air filters....air in tires and test drive wasn't able to happen until my arrival. It's bothersome because it's the shops job to operate the vehicle, not the guest service for the shop. It's the Shops job to get the car ready for the customer. Carrie is attentive, patient, friendly, and helpful. Again. Carrie. did. great!!! the entire duration we had exchanges. I would change my rating, however after I found out Ralph was the manager, I just figured others should know moving forward; take your Mazda to some other dealer, or go in on a day Ralph isn't working. Returned to Nappleton and they claimed to have fixed it the following day. Had to replace car's engine few weeks later due to damage from overheating. When I called them to ask them to follow through on the promises they made before I bought my car, they told me it was not their problem and left me hanging. My daughter and I leased a 2023 loaded Mazda CX-5 because of the polite, thorough and cool sales guy Joe Bledsoe who convinced us into leasing the SUV but this unprofessional, arrogant and classless Finance manager Harvey Suga who was offering us all these Extended Warranties that would be added to our monthly payments who would not accept a response from me and my daughter saying "sorry we cannot afford it", and numerous times he would say "are you crazy and I'm talking to your daughter not you". This guy is not worthy of trust and respect. If only I could cancel the deal and go somewhere else we will but I feel sorry for the four thumbs up sales guy who helped us as soon as we entered the showroom. My sales person, Joe B., was patient, informative, and communicative throughout the whole process. CBS News: Napleton Automotive has agreed to a $10 million in a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission and the Ilinois Attorney General's office after charging Black customers more for financing during purchases according to CBS News. Ed Napleton Automotive in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, agreed to the settlement last week after a complaint was filed against nine dealerships owned by Napleton Automotive in Illinois, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Missouri. The complaint claimed the dealership charged thousands of customers "hundreds or thousands of dollars" in additional charges, including "payment insurance" and "paint protection," without getting consent. According to the FTC release, the complaint says Black customers were charged up to $190 more in interest and $99 more in similar add-ons for "similarly situated" non-Latino white customers. The FTC release says the dealerships would add the fees after hours-long negotiations and "sneak junk fees for add-on products and services into customer contracts," although customers declining the add-ons. read more

Found the vehicle I wanted. The price seemed to good to be true but I got up got dressed and headed over before work. I'll skip the in between. The Internet price was not honored that I received. Even after showing the certificate both on my laptop fresh on THEIR website and in my email the certificate value was not honored. Major disappointment. My trade in was also lowballed. I went for an oil change and tire rotation and received my car back with a 1 inch long scratch and deep that went through the paint and left the metal exposed. I always check and inspect my car to make sure the paint has no scratches because of bad past experiences I've had with previous dealers with cars I've owned in the past. When I got my car back I noticed the scratch on my hood right away, it was big enough and you couldn't miss it. I complained to the service guy Freddy and he immediately checked the car and rushed to go get a touch up paint (which I knew that wasn't going to erase the deep scratch). I never asked him to use the touch up paint, all I wanted was answers of how this could had happened, and he suggested to talk to his Manager (Rafal). I asked Mr. Rafal to respond to my problem and he asked to bring the car in so he can see it personally. I went on the day of my appointment to hopefully see Rafal but he wasn't there, instead Freddy was there and he wanted to take pictures of the damage to show Rafal and to send the pictures to their body shop. A whole week and some days passed by and I still didn't heard from them so I contacted Rafal and asked him what was going on and he said he couldn't help me with my problem because he said his personnel is always very careful with everything and he's never had this type of issues at his dealer before. He's basing his decision to not fix anything based on pictures and not seeing the car in person, it's never the same. Mr. Rafal your personnel are humans and make mistakes too, maybe they did the scratch on accident with equipment or unintentionally and didn't even noticed they did it. My car didn't had that scratch when they went in that dealer and now they don't want to fix it. What are security cameras for? I'm sure they could see a video when my car went in and would notice my car had no scratch. I will report this to Mazda Corporate, I love Mazda but I don't like this dealer no more, I lost my trust. They don't take care of your car and never going back. I've also had another issue that same day I got the scratch on my car, I asked them to not give my car a car wash and they still did it. I'm not sure if someone just doesn't like me in that dealer or what? The reason why I asked them not to wash my car was because in the past when I had bought the car brand new from them, they washed it and gave my car very noticeable swirl marks that weren't there before, so I asked them to please put it on their system to never wash my car every time I would go for an oil change and they still ended up doing it even after they asked me and I told Freddy no. Guys I'm not a mean guy, I gave these guys too many chances but they still don't respect the client in my case, I'm not trying to harm nobody but I'm just rating my experience. I'm a hard working man and I work hard to pay my car and wanted to keep it looking great always but this dealer just damaged my car's paint slowly. Went in for an oil change an car wash with a vacuum. Well 2 weeks later I had to go into my center dash an the top part was broken and when I called they just kept repeating its almost been a month. I don't care how long its been I didn't break it! Let alone a month is a short amount of time most items you buy at least give you 30 day guarantee. Plus I didn't think I had to check every part of my car after getting it back from what I HOPE to be getting repaired not broken. All in all they want almost $90 for a new part so I left. I called Orland CJ Willson Mazda and they repaired the broken part, washed my car an got me out the door happy within the hour. I will never go back to CJ Wilson Mazda of Countryside and will now take my 2nd owned MAZDA to CJ Wilson Mazda of Orland Park from now on. read more

I received an email after hours Saturday night from Marta, with a fairly aggressive price on the new Mazda 6 I was looking at. I called Monday morning to make sure the vehicle was still available, I spoke with Tim McGrath who assured me he would have it ready and if Marta was still with her current customer he could help me through the process. Tim was very easy to talk to and certainly played a large part in my decision to buy. Needless to say I am very excited to finally drive off the lot with my new Mazda. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE: (SHADY DEALERSHIP). I called about a car I was interested in. A individual on there sales team told me they negotiate prices. To later find out they don't by the manager. They have the vehicle up charged by almost $4,000! While discussing the car there manager tells me to go "fuck myself ". I have bought multiple cars before and this dealership is shady as well as Vague. I would never buy from this dealership if you value your money. I recently purchased a 2018 CX-5 from this dealership. Our salesperson, Pete, was pleasant to work with and we were able to negotiate a price that made us happy. He was also very patient while I looked over every inch of the hood for paint chipping. read more

While we are very happy with the car we recently purchased, this dealership is horrible. Employees here, both in the sales department and service department, are rude and unhelpful. On the day of our purchase, the sales manager claimed that they will mail us the second key fob because they couldn't locate it anywhere. Two days later, we had to call to follow-up since they did not contact us regarding the fob; they then told us that they had lost the fob and asked us to come in to have a new second fob paired to the car. Unexpectedly, we had to leave our car there for three days because they couldn't figure out how to pair the fobs right! Three days later, we came back to pick up our car, only to find scratches on the hood! The scratches are minor, but no one seemed to want to take responsibility. They helped us buff the major scratches off but there are still scratches visible. Each time we had to go in, it was a one-hour drive each way. No one apologized for all the inconvenience. Everyone we encountered was rude and made it seem like them losing the key fob and then having to keep our new car there were all our faults. Mazda is great but we will not engage in any business with this dealership again. read more

If you are looking to buy a Mazda this may be a good place to start looking, but besides that, I would strongly recommend never getting your car serviced by this dealership. They truly try to rob you blind. They tried charging me $300 in labor for something that took my mechanic 5 minutes to replace, and that was after they charged me a $130 fee for a computer diagnostic that clearly showed the easy fix. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS and always get a SECOND OPINION from an Honest person that you know or you will pay 2-3 times more. You've been warned. read more

Can't say I was real thrilled with our first experience here. My wife & I stopped by to browse in anticipation of needing a new car in the summer. Salesman (I'll be polite and refrain from using his name) was nice at first; after I explained our situation and what types of cars we were looking at, he recommended the CX-5. We checked it out in the showroom, and I noted to him that we were not in the market to buy something that day, we were still shopping around. He said that was fine, and he could help arrange a test drive. Everything went fine, until the end, when the (expected) hard sell came. During the test drive, I reiterated multiple times that we wouldn't be buying anything until the summer. He asked us to sit down to go over numbers and what we might be looking at; I indulged him. (Note: my extended family was in car sales for about 50 years. I know this process quite well, and, if I may be so bold, I was taught by the best.) He ended up writing down his "best price"--about $24k and change. I asked a few questions about promotions & financing, and I got the expected "Well, right now is really the best time to buy" response. He mentioned during the test drive how the CX-5's are selling so well they "won't stay on the lot"; then, during our sit-down, he mentioned how he had "a lot full of CX-5s," and he could get us pretty much any combination we wanted. A bit contradictory, I would say. Nevertheless, I chalked it up to usual salesman rhetoric. I said fine, show me the out-the-door price; he left, came back with a handwritten number of $28k and change. No details, just one flat number. So I then asked where that number was coming from--could I see an itemized breakdown of the costs? He said sure, then came back with an internet printout of the car's features, no prices attached to anything. I reiterated: could I see the full breakdown of the price--the base price, the delivery fee, taxes, etc? "We don't do that," he replied. What car dealer won't show you the costs going into a final purchase price? A shady one, in my experience. After that, when I think he could tell I wasn't going to do anything without seeing the price broken down, he basically turned cold. He told us that "Usually, they [the sales staff] won't even waste their time with someone if they aren't ready to buy right now," and they would tell us to "come back when [we're] ready to buy." He also told us that he "was doing [us] a favor because [he] had some time to spare." (Direct quotes.) So now I'm wasting his time, he's doing us a favor by spending time with us, and he won't show us a price breakdown. At that point, I said "Thanks for your help" and got up and left. We definitely liked the car, and we may buy a CX-5 still--but I don't think I'll be going back to this place to do it. read more
