The staff at Edgewater Towers are wonderful…read more I disagree with the review stating this complex is dirt or poorly managed; I've lived in several rentals, and this one is by far the cleanest and most well-managed I've been in. The building is older, but well-maintained for the most part. The freight elevator is a bit finicky and can break down from time to time, but it's usually fixed quickly and other elevators are available. Only major complaint is a noisy upstairs neighbor who keeps slamming doors loudly, but this is not the building or staff's fault - I cannot hear anything other than their doors slamming (no TV noises, talking, etc). All-in-all, this complex is affordable for the Gold Coast area and there's an absolutely stunning view of the lake and downtown Cleveland from the rooftop. Short walk to Lucky's Market, Chipotle and other spots. And again, love the staff here, they're all so sweet and helpful. When the freight elevator broke during my move-in and I couldn't get my couches up, they stored them for me downstairs until it was fixed the next day. Then, they went ahead and moved them upstairs for me while I was at work. So nice of them!

The place smells like weed since letting dogs in the building. There is pee in the elevators and smell. Heat not work in the winter. They have to give you space heaters for your apartment to be warm.

If we need maintenance on the apartment, it's almost always done within 24 hours. I can't express enough how great it is to have staff that you're able to get a hold of when you need them. The building is family-owned and I think that makes all the difference in the world.

I've had three hit-and-runs in the outdoor lot in the last four years totaling over $4000 worth of damage. One time another resident vandalized my car in the garage. Not once was the staff able to identify the hit-and-run vehicle nor the vandal, not that they really try. The inside garage leaks gravel and dirt all over your car. Last year, the condo was flooded by water coming in from the ceiling and didn't stop for 72 hours. It's just one thing after another after another, there is always some problem. The staff tells you they will fix the problem and then weeks pass and nothing gets fixed. You have to practically harass them to get anything done around here. Then nothing ever gets fixed properly so it just breaks down again and again. I used to love this building when I moved in and now I hate it. I can't wait to leave.

The apartment has lots of natural light and closet space! The whole complex is super clean, renovated and up to date! There is a great gym with a huge selection of fitness equipment. I can't wait till summer to tan by the pool. The best part is the location. I can walk to Whole Foods and do all my grocery shopping! Lakewood is filled with cute fun bars! The Castlewood Apartments made a deal with the construction worker so they can live on site meaning the workers are living in the building and probably still are to this day What was done to me at the Castlewood Apartments was highly unacceptable It was legal the entire time torturing a torture victim, while taking money from them very insane behavior... The people who worked there are very nice people... The maintenance guy is one of the nicest people I have met in the state of Ohio who works there He's also probably underpaid and underappreciated They basically use him to do everything in the building and yes, he is a black man love all people just being honest how the maintenance man was being treated by the corporate office was very upsetting to me

The master bedrooms are in the center and don't share a wall with neighbors. This helps keep it quiet. - The office staff is wonderful! Sherrie and Lisa are so kind and they always go the extra mile. They try to make the best experiences for residents hosting events, taking care of issues and constantly working to improve the building. If you have any issue, they take it seriously and do their best to handle it quickly. They take the time to get to know the residents and they really care about your experience here. - The maintenance team. Chris and Al are the best! Unlike other places I've lived, they really respect that your apartment is your home. They get to jobs quickly and always ask if there is anything else they can help with. Even if it's just a flickering lightbulb they get to it right away. - You can easily walk to all the best places on Detroit. We have underground parking - that is included in rent - so you don't have to worry about street parking.

I lived at these nightmare of apartments for the last 4 to 5 years . (I made a different account…read morebecause my mother still lives in the apartments as of right now) let me tell you do not move in here unless you want to do everything on your own. We have a two bedroom apartment and the front bathroom has not been renovated. The back bathroom cannot be used because every time you flush the toilet it leaks everywhere and it's disgusting . The last time we called them to come in and fix it. They broke up all the tile AND still hasn't come to fix THAT. We can't use the dishwasher because it leaks. (and we did put into get everything fixed maybe two years ago still nothing). Don't ever try to use the elevators. One of them is broken and it's been broken down for about a year. It's never cleaned in the washrooms/laundry room. Smells in the hallways are crazy. The pools are never cleaned and trust me if you try to use the equipment in the "gym room" the workers will stare at you until you feel uncomfortable. DO NOT COME HERE YOU'RE WASTING YOUR MONEY YOUR TIME AND ENERGY.
