Our contractor recommended that we visit Contract Furnishings Mart (CFM) to select a backsplash for the upcoming work on our kitchen. When I called to make an appointment, the woman who answered was friendly and helpful but said an appointment wasn't needed and feel free to just come in. I indicated that I would prefer an appointment and she confirmed that wasn't a problem and booked one for later in the week for us. We were treated with a smile when we came in for our appointment and pointed in the direction for the type of material we believed we were interested in. She then told us that the woman who was going to help us would be over very shortly. The designer was over shortly and took a little time to understand and get information on our project and what our vision was. She pulled a few samples and as we talked through the design concepts we changed our vision a bit and she lead us through some ideas. Her next pull on the product hit it out of the ballparks and we landed on the backsplash we ended up ordering. She was great. They took down the information and confirmed they would relay the information to our contractor who would also confirm the amount we would need. We then went back in a few days later to make the payment for the material. Once again we were warmly welcomed and very quickly supported with the payment. I don't like having to post reviews like this. But I've given this company/location a fair chance over two+ years and 3 projects, but due to the most recent treatment of me and my last project with them, I just can't let it slide. I'm really disappointed with my interactions with CFM Beaverton. I think I also got stuck with their sales person with the worst attitude, or she is simply prejudiced against me for wearing a mask in the store, or my race, or maybe just the fact that my installer didn't have an account with them, or maybe even the fact that I wasn't going to be spending $20k with them. Who knows. She was never friendly towards me, always had an attitude in the way she spoke to me when I came in to look at tile, and I always felt like an inconvenience to her. I probably should have tried to work with a different associate, as she made me feel bad every single time I had to interact with her. She disparaged my complicated tile design ideas and offered builder grade unattractive alternatives. I was not impressed with how she was trying to steer my design. We had a much more helpful sales associate (who had great taste) with our last remodel project, who sadly left CFM a couple years ago. Eventually, I sorted out my design plan on my own and was very pleased with it, and still wanted to place my tile order with them. Unfortunately, they do have good prices. When it came down to ordering, we needed tile for a full bathroom remodel (shower and floor), and also some very large format tile for a smaller project. When we picked up all of our tile, we were unable to check the large format tile, but all of our confirmation paperwork from CFM said the correct tile name and details, and the correct amount was shipped to them and received by them. None of the paperwork I received from them listed the incorrect tile. The floor and shower tile were correct, and the window of the box of the large format tile showed the back side of the tile, and because I was warned that it broke easily, I did not want to disturb it once it made it safely to my home. We assumed since they gave it to us with our order, and our pick up sheet confirmed the tile, that it was correct. Well, our installer installed the large format tile without knowing what it was supposed to look like (he's an independent tile guy, and I did not consult him on my design choices other than asking if he could work with the large size), and I discovered it was the wrong tile after it had been installed. He finished the small install in one afternoon, so it was cut and installed with the mortar drying before I realized the tile was not what I had selected. CFM is refusing to take any responsibility for giving me the tile I didn't order. I guess it was silly of me to assume that they actually check the physical items received against my order when it arrives at their warehouse. I don't have the extra $1,000 lying around to pay our installer to rip out his expertly-installed incorrect tile and put up the correct tile-- it isn't his fault, and I wouldn't expect him to do it for free. Additionally, we risk damage to the surrounding woodwork with a second demolition. Even with all of this context, CFM is still saying it's *my* fault for having installed the wrong tile. They refuse to accept any responsibility. They are passing the buck to their supplier, who will not do anything besides blame me, as well. So it's my job to check the tile CFM ordered from the supplier, that they told me was the tile I ordered? I guess you should *never* expect to get the correct tile when you work with CFM! Always tear open every single box of tile you pick up or you'll end up wasting time and money! Or just go elsewhere. It's a shame they don't care about smaller customers like me. Maybe this was a small order for them this time (it was a $2k order, so it was large to me and my bank account), but I still have a very large kitchen and two more full bathrooms to remodel in my house and we'll be going elsewhere for those projects. Not to mention I'll never recommend this company to friends or family again. Instead, they'll be hearing about this disappointing experience. If you're not a contractor, and are just a regular homeowner like me, find a company with better customer service who cares about ALL of their clients. CFM has wasted a huge amount of our hard-earned money, and I'm stuck with a disappointing feature in my house because of the incorrect tile. And before they jump on responding to this review, I will tell you that their company line has been "well you installed it, so you approved the tile" verbatim, with snark. The attitude and blaming the customer for giving me the wrong tile is unreal. This is a wild way to do business in 2023. read more

I have had several great experiences with Contract Furnishings Mart . But I am writing this today because of Michelle who helped me out the other day . She was patient and helped me get some hard to find grout . We were trying to find similar colors in different brands so I could get it at Lowes or Home Depot that day , but neither had it in stock. I finally just ordered it through her , and she had all the paperwork done quickly and I was able to pick it up the next morning. I'm sure she had plenty of other more important things to do , but she took the time to help us out . Good customer service is everything , Michelle has that , and she is pleasant , and knows her stuff ! Thank you ! read more

We recently built an addition to our home and our builder scheduled an appointment for us with Kathy Ballou to go to the Milwaukie showroom to pick our finishes. We had given Kathy our ideas ahead of time and when we arrived for our appointment she had already pulled several samples of tile, hardwood floors, granite and quartz etc....she stayed within our builders allowance although we kept opting to spend a bit more. We purchased the finishes for our new kitchen, master bath & bedroom, powder room bath, office & bedrooms. It was a great process and we are extremely happy with every single finish that they provided for us! Kathy was awesome, but she was retiring. Five years ago my realtor suggested CFM to me for carpet, flooring, and a kitchen update for my Portland home. I visited CFM Beaverton and met Maria Zaccaro who is a gem -- she helped me in so many ways -- good advice about what product types to use for different spaces, selecting the specific products, suggesting when something I was thinking about might not work as well as I'd envisioned, etc. Most importantly, she learned how I make decisions and tailored her approach accordingly. She's been incredibly responsive and also low-pressure, knowing that some decisions take time to make. A month or so ago I went back to look at materials to update my shower, Maria wasn't there but another employee was very helpful even knowing that I would ultimately be working with Maria. We had a very pleasant experience working with Selena at Contract Furnishings Mart (CFM) at the Beaverton location. We are completing a major master bedroom bathroom remodel. We needed a quartz countertop and then required color coordinated tile in the shower, on the floor and surrounding the soak tub. We came in with some general color ideas and Selena showed us a variety of options. She did a great job guiding us through the process. She helped us find tile choices that would compliment each other and when we asked she was quite willing to offer her thoughtful professional opinion as a guidepost. Having numerous brands/lines in one spot made it much easier than running to all of the local stores and there's a much better variety than what you'll find at local building supply stores. You can only purchase here if you're working with a contractor. Only downside was that, for someone who can't match her clothes let alone design an entire kitchen, it gave us so many choices it was hard to narrow things down. read more

I was so excited about this place! Unfortunately, we have a contractor who has not used any of the money to pay off our CFM bill and we bought big ticket items from there. Not only are we having issues with our countertops literally pulling away from the wall but our contractor did not pay CFM for jobs completed three months ago. We called to see if we could pay, they would not allow us to pay or tell us what is owed. This is strange as the bill is past due and the next step would be putting a lean on our house. When we sought legal advice we were told it is our right to have the option to pay the bill and get the lien notices released. Will keep updating this post.... read more

The guy who works in the pick up is an absolute jerk. He argues with me every time I come in here. It's absolutely unacceptable! Today I came in for an order that was suppose to arrive Friday. On Friday he told me it was probably there but he didn't have time to check it in. I come back Monday afternoon and he says it's not there and goes and checks with the office person and tells me she is on the phone with someone from my company. I said no because I'm the only contact and he proceeded to argue with me and insist she was on the phone with my company. I am the owner and the only contact listed. I know she isn't on the phone with my company. He says well who is she on the phone with then.... what is wrong with this guy! I just want an ETA on my order and he argues with me. This isn't the first time. But it will be the last because I will never order anything from this location again. What a joke read more

A subcontractor recommended we go here to look for tile and flooring for our new home. We were glad we did. The product selection is outstanding, the staff knowledgable, and pricing was competitive. We ended up buying all our hardwood, carpet, tile, and bathroom countertop material through CFM. We worked with Maria out of the Beaverton store. She was very knowledgeable and made wonderful design suggestions while working with our taste and thoughts. She and the rest of the team there provided excellent communication regarding samples, pricing, availability and delivery. This store is very well laid out, easy to navigate and best of all I got great help from Maria. In about 30 minutes, she guided me through the different products and materials and I made my selections. She was wonderful to work with and will follow up with both me and my contractor.
