The delivery person wore a mask which in itself is incredibly important. They offer-wine, beer, spirits, cat food, tylenol, chips, dish detergent-anything you could ever want in the time of the Covid-19 ordeal. Place is very dirty. Idk if it was the items that I bought, but the items that I bought all had dust on it. Seems like these items have been sitting on the shelf for years and never cleaned. Be warned, they do tend to have a problem stocking what they advertise on GrubHub, but the owner will call you and patiently "negotiate" an adequate replacement. I strongly disagree with the negative reviews about this place, and think it is a perfect place to get something when you need it to be CONVENIENT. Seriously, I've been going here for well over a year now, since I've moved into the neighborhood, and I can't complain about a single thing The cashiers are kind, always says hello when I walk in; they're open til 10pm, and they're in a heavy foot-traffic area with the CTA stop right in front of it. Obviously they setup shop in a high-rent commercial space, but then again, that's why you're paying for the CONVENIENCE of not having to walk all the way down to Clark/Diversey to get something for a few quarters cheaper. They have a wide array of frozen foods, toothbrushes, hygienic items, ice cream, tons of snacks, tobacco, rolling papers, and pretty much any general house item you'd expect to find at a 7-11 Overall, if you live in any of BJB's buildings by Surf/Sheridan, or any of the neighboring high-rises, I would highly suggest you take a quick peak in and check out what they have on their shelves. *As for Jim's review from last year - a service is something provided when you BUY something from a business; not when you go into a business and ask for moral compassion. Don't leave a one-star review when you basically walked into a store, asked for a handout, and the cashier says no. Every time you order from 'Convenient Food Mart', the owner will call you and tell you they don't have the item you ordered. At that point you will have to use all your mental power to understand their broken English and choose another item similar to the one you ordered instead. Don't order ice cream, cereal or any other item with a large number of variants; I can guarantee they will get it wrong. Not exactly 'Convenient'. read more

I don't expect the crowd in this neighborhood to like this store. It's kind of old school convenience and the employees probably won't treat you like the prima donna you think you are. But they have stuff, the store is convenience store clean, they have a decent beer selection and occasionally that interact friendly with me. Very happy with the delivery. They were freaky fast (jimmy Johns style) They added FREE candy to our order because of Halloween (which was really nice) my girlfriend flipped out! Let me start by saying that I created a yelp account for the sole purpose of writing this review. Why bother reviewing a convenient store, you ask? The manager of this place is a COMPLETE A**HOLE. I just went there to buy some cough medicine because I look and feel like death right now. Well, their credit card machine was broken and I had no cash on me so I didn't get my Robitussin.... Now the broken credit card machine is one thing and somewhat understandable. However, the manager's comment when I said I had no cash was "Oh well, go somewhere else." WHAT?!? You run a business?!? Now I'm aware that this is a convenient store and I wasn't expecting 5-star treatment, but seriously? I'm beyond pissed right now, and even more so because I bet their business will not suffer despite sh*tty customer service. It's a convenient store and it's, well... conveniently located, so I'm sure they get a lot of foot traffic. Apparently that means not having to care whatsoever about your customers. Rude service is the norm at this place. Recently I purchased a Groupon on what appears to be a good deal for 3 bottles of wine. On the Groupon it clearly says "Valid only up to $47.47 per bottle of wine." Per bottle of wine - it cannot be more clearly stated. The merchant decided to interpret this to mean $47.47 value for the three bottles of wine total, and declines the Groupon. Well, he is the one who draws up the contract, now he decided to renege on it at will. It is dishonest to renege on any contract, and this place is a disgrace. read more
