The heritage, the history and that 1888 old town feels is super captivating. The restaurants and shops are always fun to explore. Tons to offer from boutiques to bargains and local eats to treats, there is something for everyone! Additionally, the walkability to "ALL the things" is convenient, beneficial and easy. Indulged in lobster roll from Lobster West which was so delicious & had a feature favorite (coconut/chocolate) ice cream from MooTime Creamery! On most of my San Diego visits, I always make a trip to the beach. This one makes a memorial impression. It's so sophisticated, peaceful and pleasant! Plus, it's unique fun finds of some stunning special sea shells is a reminder of its iconic charm. It's just truly a pleasure to come here even if it's just to simply watch the waves of the bay at ALL times of the day! Don't miss out on visiting the stunning Hotel del Coronado. If you are a non guest, you still have options. You can choose to walk thru the property OR you have the option to purchase a "Day Pass" via ResortPass (check their website site) for access to the pool, beach daybeds, and cabanas. I tried to locate it by the pictures that were on here, but they were wrong. After a long search that spanned about 2 days, I was able to find it. I will help you out, if you want to find it. It is located right across the street from 1083 Sunset Cliff Blvd. You can't miss it. Me and my assistant were able to find it in the dark. It is the one covered in bird crap. You cannot mistake it. There is a lot of places to park and get a good look. I would suggest getting there well before sunset because the parking fills up with all the sunset gazers. The rock had quite a few birds on it and is known as a surf break that produces 3 different waves. I do not know what attracts the birds to that specific rock. Some tried to explain it to me, but it was way over my head. I know that it is not much, but it is the little things that matter. It is not a long stop, but definitely worth a visit. A visit here should probably be paired with a visit to Sunset Cliff Park and a sunset viewing. I am really glad that I was able to make it here.

Sunset Cliffs is nice to take in the Pacific Ocean and then you see this big rock with a tone of bird poop and you can't help but stare at the eyesore.

The city is beautiful, calm, classy, and clean. It reminds me a lot of my hometown. This city is accessible from the downtown area via the Coronado Bay Bridge, or from Chula Vista to the south. Coronado represents small town Americana. My favorite part of this is the Fourth of July parade, as well as the fireworks on that same evening. If you come to those events, I recommend getting here very early in the day for the parade, and leaving right when the fireworks end. Otherwise, you'll be stuck on the island for an hour or two in traffic. Since leaving the military, I've still come back here time and time again. I come to visit military friends and to get out of LA and enjoy this beautiful city.

My friend's auntie lives nearby and we were invited to go for a "walk" and dinner afterwards. When driving here, we parked along Orange Avenue area and paid the meter! Depending on what you're doing and where you're going, there's plenty of meter off street parking! The Hotel del Coronado is the famous one. It's huge with lots to do. You can spend a day exploring! ( We actually did that one of the trips we had visited. ) This trip, we explored Orange Avenue and so many shops, galleries, and some eateries. You can walk all around the beach area. It'll be MILES of FUN!! We explored the inland side first. Later on, we walked the beach side and watched the sunset! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! Along the walkway, you'll also have hours of fun people watching! We saw people kayaking and paddle boarding, too. We would like to try the Coronado Ferry next trip. Overall, we enjoyed a fun time! I believed I got in about 19K steps in! Besides the hotel, there's military presence. There's huge parks and golfing as well. There's probably quite a bit more, but that's all I know so far. Clean public restrooms is a bonus if you're not in a restaurant! We will be back for another exploring adventure soon!

Such as, dog poop left on the ground, (no stray dogs here..) urine scented sidewalks, thefts, car break-ins, rude and smelly folks, paid parking in residential neighborhoods. I still go, but even my 20 year old daughter has witnessed the transition since we've been going for about 15 of those years. Everyone thinks it's cool to own a dog but they lack the decency and or common sense to care for them. Carry those little baggies and keep them leashed. Simple right? Apparently not for some. This happens in my neighborhood too, so possibly this is a millennial thing.. Wait, maybe I shouldn't generalize and blame a generation- all ages really do apply here. Pick up after yourself AND your dog. I could name the numerous establishments here, but I do have a few favorites that I particularly like. Sicilian Thing pizza, Crazee burger, Spirits 619, Lefty's, City Tacos, Yog-Art and a few others I can't think of right now. So if you live here you may take Yoga classes that you actually pay for. I couldn't resist taking a snapshot of the sign on the power pole, which suggests your Yoga could be free if you just bend over and pick up that doggie doodoo. Are you up for the challenge or not?

The coolness of all things University Heights in one Boulevard!…read more Very much the heart and center of San Diego's U.H. with great spots like Parkhouse Eatery, Plumeria Vegetarian, Good Omen Coffee Co, that cool dive Lancers, and let's not forget about Cheers, the bar #YouWannaBeWhereEverybodyKnowsYourName Some many cool finds such as Kairoa Brewing Company, awesome wall art by Summer's Market, the iconic archway, painted utility boxes, plenty of street parking though definitely pay attention to those signs for limits and street sweeping days on the more residential side streets of Park Blvd. It's just as vibrant as any part of SD, but more laid-back and casual, college friendly meets elder millennial, though very much open to and welcoming of all especially places like the Diversionary Theatre, the third oldest lgbtq+ theatre in the U.S. #ColorMeImpressed #ThatDOESImpressMeMuch It's come up a lot and enhanced it's mellow effect with a lot of modern touches. One of the more elevated areas in terms of the cost of living. And rightfully so since it's such a cool hub of local meets multiple communities. Only a skip over to Mission Valley, Hillcrest, North Park and many fellow great neighborhoods. Super walkable, super enjoyable and super more than the University Heights - Park Blvd: Business District.

So many houses/families even sell snacks and drinks to take for the trip around the neighborhood! While it was a nice experience, it felt a bit underwhelming compared to other displays we've seen. Not every house participated, and the ones that did featured fairly standard Christmas lighting, with a few exceptions. Came on a Friday evening. There was parking scattered. It was 1 mile walk with the loop and cut outs! That said, there were about 4-5 homes that truly stood out and went all out with their displays--those were stunning and definitely stole the show. The atmosphere was pleasant for a walk, and you could easily enjoy the entire display within an hour. Walking is definitely the way to go; driving doesn't provide the same immersive experience. A lovely bonus was the handful of homes selling hot cocoa, cookies, baked goods, coffee, and even pup cups for dogs! We enjoyed some hot chocolate and appreciated the sweet photo opportunities set up by a few houses. Overall, it was a fun evening, but compared to other areas, like the Scripps Ranch light display where every house participates with incredible themes, this felt quieter and less cohesive. However, we greatly appreciate the effort of those who did participate and enjoyed the festive spirit of the evening. A solid 4 stars!

If you come up/down the south approach to the peak, I recommend you bring a walking stick because the trail is in bad shape. It is easy to fall. The ground is sandy and steep. If you walk the north approach, it's less seanic, but samer walking.

The pedestrian bridge that spans the little ravine at the east end of Clairemont Mesa Blvd that you…read morehave to cross over to get into Mission Hills Regional Park is sooooo cool. It is an iron frame construction bridge with wooden planks set in that you walk/run/ride on. The bridge will actually move a bit as you cross which is kinda a cool sensation. The area all burned (including the wood planks) in the Cedar Fire, and thus the area is quite interesting as it recovers from the devestating fire. I love this place to enter the park, as well as the bridge you cross. YAY for bridges. I heart bridges.
