I was greatly disappointed by this dark chocolate thin mint mocha which is a part of their holiday menu. The syrup kind of just pooled at the bottom, and it was kind of thick too. Tasted like an average non flavored latte with some thick syrup bits. Overall, not a good pick. The cafe was small, with two couch chairs and maybe like 3-4 wooden tables. Paid street parking along the road. It's right next to steelhouse so I see the convenience of doing a spin class and then going next door to get a cup of coffee. Free WiFi too read more

Omg the lattes at Convive are unreal! I went on a Saturday afternoon and the barista was soooo sweet. She was telling me about the draft peanut butter latte and because I was on the fence about it, she let me try it. So nice. The latte was SO good. Peanut butter powder, almond milk, and coconut cream. Just a really unique combination and very decadent. The white chocolate and strawberry latte was also so good. Really creamy, delicious, and the strawberry flavor didn't taste artificial. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised with Convive after seeing they only had 3.5 stars. We stopped in two mornings in a row and the baristas were friendly and patient. The shop itself is super cute with drink options on a chalkboard behind the counter and another chalkboard with the current coffee offering listed out with origin and tasting notes. They roast their own coffee and as a coffee snob, I was very happy with my lattes-iced one day, hot the next. My husband tried different coffees each day and both were as described on the board. They do have syrups if you're into that kind of thing. You could grab a pastry and enjoy your drink at the various seating options in the space. read more

The latte art was beautiful and the latte itself was great, however the "cappuccino" was not a cappuccino... it was a latte. lol. I stopped by this past Sunday with my wife for our morning coffee. Every Sunday we try to hit up a new local coffee place and on this day we choose the convive in Lawrenceville. I have actually driven by this location many times over and never noticed it but it's right on Butler Street. The inside is interesting as it has concrete floors, a couple of comfy seats as well as some tables. There is a small upper level which has sacks of coffee beans and other coffee equipment. Lastly the have a small display case where you order that had some baked goods in it as well as what looked like some breakfast burritos. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with one of their fall specials, a smoke salted maple latte while my wife went with the oat apple cinnamon cold foam over coffee. On my first sip I could tell that the coffee had been freshly roasted and I also got a bit of smokiness as well as dryness from the salt. Then my wife sort of made a face as she tried hers and offered it to me. I definitely got the apple flavor on the backend of it, but I wasn't a fan. After that I tried my latte again and while I couldn't taste the maple itself, I did get a hit of sweetness from the drink showing that it was clearly there. It ended up being not what I had expected but was still an enjoyable drink for me. One other thing to note that didn't affect the flavor but that I was surprised at were the to go lids. They were the type you would get at the gas station with the flip up lid instead of the slightly domed ones with open holes that you normally get at coffee shops. This meant that once I was done and pulled the lid off, some foam and most of the smoked salt were stuck to the lid depriving me off the flavor. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. While my coffee ended up being pretty good, neither my wife nor I really enjoyed hers. read more

Convive offers a cool, minimalist getaway from the bustling sidewalks of Lawrenceville. While parking is overwhelming, this coffee shop is worth the stop. Nitro Cold Brew was a caffeination high. I'm not much of a coffee person but I walk by this cute coffee shop on my way to work every day and the smell of freshly roasted beans was too hard to resist! There are *many* coffee shops to choose from on Butler St so they each have to be a little special and different from the other ones five feet away to last. Convive is the place for those who want to sit down in the hipster ambiance and chat for a while but not so much so for people who are just looking to get their coffee hit for the day. I went on a Sunday morning and expected to wait long based on previous reviews but was happily surprised ordering and getting my order took less than 10 minutes. The employees were very efficient and pleasant despite the place being semi-packed. My hot chocolate was average, a tad on the bitter side and lacking the richness I usually like. Cute little coffee shop! Really has bodega coffee vibes, but they do espresso drinks as well. When I try out a new coffee shop, I always get the drip coffee to see how regular beans are treated. If I get burnt tasting drip coffee, I have one fewer reason to return, even for a latte. Convive passed my personal test- their drip coffee was solid! I added milk when I got home to cool it down because it was still piping hot after a 15 minute drive. Got their blueberry muffin too, and it was a good standard muffin. They don't pretend to be artisanal and I'm glad for it! Gonna return post-covid for a coffee and bagel, hopefully inside the shop! read more

After driving by this shop many times and thinking "I gotta try this place out", I finally did this past weekend. I went with a soy milk cappuccino and my fiancé went with the regular cappuccino- we both loved them. The espresso tasted very high quality and it was frothy and perfect. Customer service was fantastic as well. Ordering was a breeze- they have a little window in the front, so everything is COVID-19 compliant. Walked to one of our new favorite coffee shops today to get out of the house and to support open local businesses, to find a barista that complained that people were out to buy coffee during this 'trying time'. He also complained that he had to clean the counter, door handles and the card reader (even though you don't have to touch it) after each customer. This guy should be happy that their employer is open so he has a job! He was an ass$0|€. Waited outside for five minutes first in-line before the person would talk to me. They looked busy w online orders. Counter to order covered in coffee waiting to be picked up. She said she needed a few more minutes... so I started friendly chat w family in line behind me. Another five minutes pa.. I scootch to window ...to see what's going on. 10 minutes at this point as first in line to order. Seemed strange. Finally she turns around and sees me and asks if I'm ready YET. W an attitude. I asked her if she could see the line that's formed behind me waiting to order? "We are all ready to order." I shared. She shrugged and rolled her eyes. The weirdest part for me was how patience and sweet the line was being before the person at counter had an attitude. They are using a mic w a very restricted window space.. seems like time to come up w more tools to bridge communication w cold line outside. A light? Says "ready to take your order" ALSo I tried calling ahead but number was not working. This is definitely my favorite coffee shop in the area. Something about their espresso just hits different. The take out window is super convenient, especially when using the joe app. There is usually a parking space or two open on their block so it's very easy to jump out and grab your drink from the window when the app says it's ready. I also love their vegan breakfast sandwich. I'm not vegan but I'm allergic to eggs. Instead of an egg it's got a flavorful chickpea patty with an interesting consistency that is kind of egg-like. read more
