Ok so I am NOT rating their service department or the cleanliness of their bathrooms. What I am rating is their sales department, finance guys, sales management and overall team. I don't know why there are reviews that are negative because BASED on MY PERSONAL experience this is an A+ dealership. I purchased a 2022 Dodge Challenger from this dealership and I did it from out of state without even meeting Tony Roy in person. He is an Epic Sales person by the way. Very easy to deal with and just a fun guy. He even responded when the dealership was still closed or he wasn't working. I deal with salespeople for my line of work all day long and he is one of the good ones. Negotiated a fair price for the car they had and got a fair financing deal as well. Every phone call or text was returned and he even checked in twice after the sale to make sure I was happy with my purchase. Shocked! This is the closest Jeep dealership to my house, so being new to town and not knowing of other reputable places, I decided to give this one a go. I was beyond satisfied by the way EVERYONE at this business interacted with EVERY customer, including myself. I had electrical issues, a disgusting air filter, a close-to-dead key fob battery, and a DISGUSTING interior from this vehicle being my dog-mobile for several cross-country trips. The multiple, complex electrical issues were diagnosed within a few hours. The parts needed to fix the issue were in stock and the vehicle was scheduled to be fixed the next day. When it was fixed, I ask my services adviser (Adam) if they could detail the vehicle and replace the air filter. THEY MADE THIS BABY SPOTLESS! I'm in shock. I can't find dog hair anywhere!!! And there was plenty! BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE: Instead of wasting my money to replace the air filter, the knowledgeable mechanics noticed it was an aftermarket model that just needed to be cleaned. They did this at no charge!!!! I'll definitely be back for any future maintenance needs with my Jeep and Dodge. Thank you!!!! read more

Beware of shady numbers! My wife and I visited the show room to look at a used vehicle. We Decided to purchase the vehicle if the price and terms were right. We agreed to pay the listed price, the price advertised on the Internet, and we're simply working out financing terms. After being presented with the "best deal "something just didn't feel right and the terms were not quite where We wanted them to be so we told them we will go home and sleep on it. When We got home We started looking at the final proposal and realize that there was a mysterious $600 math error. I did the math and realized they had charged over 7% for the tax and on top of that the totals of the price, tax title and fees as listed did not add up to the total amount To be financed. We emailed our salesman about the error and with a few more questions about financing. When he responded the next day he indicated the best deal would be the same exact monthly payment as he told us the night before but with an additional thousand dollars down. Obviously We were confused so My wife reached out to a manager. After speaking with the manager he agreed that the totals were wrong and the tax was calculated incorrectly and that the final amount financed should be nearly $600 less. He said he would get with the salesman and with the finance manager about the financing and get back to us. Four hours later we had heard nothing and I called our salesman who said he would transfer us to the manager. We were on hold for about a minute and hung up on. After calling back we were told that no one was around who could help us and we will get a call in the morning. 10 minutes later the advertised price on the Internet has been raised by over $900. I don't expect I will hear back from the manager. We wasted several hours of our time trying to negotiate a deal in good faith We initially chalked the math error up to an honest mistake but after being ignored and hung up on and then seeing the increase in the price online it seems cooks was trying to hide some extra profit in the total amount financed hoping we wouldn't notice. I can't reasonably come to any other conclusion. Our salesman bragged about being in the business for many years so I'm having a hard time believing that he can't do simple math. Over charge for services and they don't last. We took our car in about two months ago and said its not starting but the battery is good. We were charged over $300 dollars for a $20 cable and time. We just had to take the car in (not to this place again) for the same problem. The new cable had fallen off!!! read more

Found a used car advertised both on Cars.com and Autotrader for a great price. Scheduled a test drive and mentioned the price that we'd found. Told the dealership we'd be back later that week to buy the car. Came back as promised to seal the deal and they told me a different price. I showed them the price I found online, proved that it was current, and they would not honor it saying it was some kind of mistake but weren't sure how it could have happened. They asked me for $4000 more than that price, so I had to walk. We only learned about this price difference AFTER they ran our credit. In addition to this, when I'd originally called to make an appointment to buy, I was informed that the vehicle had been taken to the airport. I was a bit put off, but agreed to come back when the car was there. As I walked out to inspect the car before buying, a man walked out saying "This was the best car buying experience I've ever had!" The man walked out back to where the car we were interested in was parked. Turns out this guy was the MANAGER who had borrowed the car and he hadn't even finished cleaning it out, despite our appointment. The car in question is STILL listed online at the price I found on both websites, despite a week having passed since then. The only explanation I have for this is that they bait and switch their clients. This dealership is run by skeevy liars. Do not buy from them. read more

My wife and I went to Cook Automotive in Aberdeen to purchase a used 2018 Cadillac XTS. We were using the USAA auto purchasing plan which discounted $1300.00 off the asking price of the car. Our salesman, Imad was great, very patient and personable. We postponed the purchase several times due to extenuating circumstances but we finally settled on a date to purchase the car. We loved the car and agreed to purchase it. They evaluated our trade in and offered us $2000 for a car easily worth $3800. They also added an "MSI" charge of $1300. for new tires, transmission flush, inspection etc... WTF, I've purchased at least 2 dozen cars in my life and have never seen that BS charge. We got up and walked out. We went to another dealer, purchased an identical Cadillac with a few thousand miles less on the odometer, received $3500 for our trade and paid a similar price for the Cadillac. Cook Automotive did not want to deal, tried to eliminate the USAA discount with a BS MSI charge and the sales manager would not discuss their offer. I have purchased 3 new vehicles from them in the past (Cirrus, Concorde Limited and a Durango Limited) but I guess they did not appreciate my loyalty or want my business. After doing an internet search, we came across a used vehicle at the Cooks Aberdeen location, that we were interested in. We stop on Saturday afternoon to look/test drive the vehicle. We also had a vehicle to trade, so we asked what they would give us for our current vehicle. The sales manager Mike agreeed to pay it off, which was approximately 17,000. We asked Jared, our salesman to work out some final numbers, including the cost of aa extended warranty, which we intended on purchasing along with the used vehicle and to send them to us. After being there for three hours with four kids we were going to go down the street less than one mile and would be waiting for the information and would return to purchase the vehicle. Jared failed to call text or email us any information so we called him back. He said he was busy, so we asked to speak with Mike. Jared informs us he too was busy. So we sent an email asking for the additional information. We were less than one mile from the car lot and had every intention on returning once we had the information they were supposed to send over to us. Needless to say no one ever got back with us Saturday. So we waited until Monday and ended up calling Mike the sales Manager. He was clueless to the fact we even requested additional information. Jared failed to tell him that we requested the numbers or that we even called back Saturday. Mike said he would get us the information. Around 2 o'clock we received a text message from Jared. "Hey Michael I worked up the numbers for you as soon as I got in today. My used car buyer cut me back and wouldn't let me payoff your trade unfortunately. But let me know what you think of the numbers and the payment options." By cut back he meant only giving 12,000. The next text from Jared "We thought we could pay it off but after the use car manager had an opportunity to look at the car in the system He said that the most we could give for it." Not really sure what changed over a one day time frame but Cooks refuses to honor their original quote. We could have and would have made the deal Saturday had Jared sent us the final numbers and warranty cost. Clearly as a company they're not on the same page and one manager failed to honor the other managers deal. If one manager offers you a deal on Saturday it should be the same deal any day of the week. Seems everyone makes their own deals and as a company they don't uphold deals made by their employees. read more

Was promised "Cook Cares for Life" and couldn't be more satisfied with the ease of getting my oil changed for "Free" and they (without asking) even washed my truck. This place is a joke I call to make a service appointment I have Mopar Care Plus warranty it covers oil changes at all dodge dealerships regardless of where u bought ur car this isn't some bs aftermarket or dealership specific warranty I tell them this they give me the run around not trying to acknowledge what I'm saying or take my vin number the 2 dealerships I talked to before them acknowledge let me know it's fully covered and free but they had a wait list of like 3 weeks so I decided to call around for a closer date this place says they have an open spot only on morning times for oil changes then tell me my oil change won't be covered LOL I might have believed them to if they were the first dealer I talked to thank god It wasn't they will straight LIE to you to your face ALL Dodge means ALL DODGE this is mopar factory stuff we're talking about 2 different dealers already confirmed the same day I talked to them I needed other warranty work done to for which I have 200$ dollar deductible for I'm sure they would of tried to charge me for something there to snakes and crooks DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE and judging by this I could only imagine what trying to buy a car from them would be like what a shame! read more

I've never had my vehicle serviced where I have to keep following up with the service department. Very bad customer service, my vehicle was at the dealership for a month and had to do my own follow up. The tech I was working with constantly told me he would follow up but never did. Not happy with the customer service and I will be taking to another dealer for service for now on that is closer to home. read more

So very disappointed with our experience at Cook Mazda... After a few years of waiting to buy the perfect car, we finally found it used at Cook Mazda. Color, trim level, model number, everything was absolutely perfect. Armed with our Carfax report, funds in place for a down payment, pre-approved financing through our credit union, and a the title for the car we wanted to trade in, we arrived at Cook Mazda to check out what we thought would be the perfect car. We had pre-arranged to meet with a salesman, and walked into the building to be greeted by another salesman. We asked for our point of contact and were told that he was busy in the mens room. Really????? We did not need to know that. A simple "He'll be right with you" would have sufficed. The salesman pulled the vehicle around to the side and recommended a route for a test drive. Before even starting the test drive, we found numerous scratches and large patches of body damage on the vehicle, and found that the front bumper was not fully attached to the vehicle. Nonetheless, we took a test drive (without the salesman), and were able to pull over into a nearby neighborhood to more thoroughly inspect the vehicle. Upon further inspection, we found that the AC is broken!!! It blew cold air into the back seat, but not in the front seat. We punched the buttons and turned the dials for a good 10 minutes before declaring that it must be a feature of purchasing a gently used vehicle. Upon swapping seats, one of us found extensive rust damage on the vehicle, also! Upon our return, the salesman greeted us in the parking lot, and we pointed out our concerns. When we brought up that the AC was non-operational, the response we received was that the repair shop had conducted a full 161 point inspection on the vehicle upon its arrival.. great... but that didn't cover the AC, obviously. We were informed that operational AC is not required by MD state inspection requirements.. but still... no one checked the AC?? We found it highly unusual that the salesman was not enthusiastic about getting the AC fixed. We pointed out the scratches and blemishes and were told that those could be buffed out. Finally, we pointed out the rust patches.. and the salesman went completely mum. He literally stopped talking to us altogether. We had no reassurances that the AC would be addressed, and no discussion about the rust getting fixed. It's almost as if the salesman did not really want to sell the car.. but isn't that his job?? We were really disappointed. We've waited a long time searching for the right car and were disappointed when our dream car became available. The salesman literally stopped talking to us about the issues that we found. Like anyone else would not have found those same issues?? Extremely disappointed. read more

WOW. Spoke with someone on the phone. Discussed the situation that we were over an hour away. Said before we came in that the price on the car was a little high and the salesman told us on the phone "he could certainly work with us on the price." We drive all the way down there and the car was in terrible shape inside. There was trash in the car, cigarette pack wrappers, stuff all over the seats. Then we checked the miles an the car was over 800 miles higher than listed. We spoke with the salesman who informed us that a manager had been driving around the vehicle. He said they would have it cleaned up. Then we started talking price... my god. As others have said they did some of the most unethical things I have ever dealt with. They tried to add $2,000 in fees for the Maryland State inspection and recondition of a 2015 MODEL! Are you kidding me? THEN we were told they could not move at all on the price OR the fees. LIED to get us to come in, UNETHICAL business practices, etc. Total waste of time. DO NOT waste your time with this establishment. SHAMEFUL. read more

The car was advertised for $12,500. Certified preowned warranty through autotrader. This was an excellent price. When you get there, they tell you that you have to pay an extra $2,400 to cover their fees. To get the car Certified preowned warranty I would have to pay an extra $500. I was not trading in a car, I was not haggling on price. My credit is great. It took them 4.5 hours. Twenty five minutes after driving away. I get a call that they put the wrong plates on the car and I have to come back and get the correct plates. I felt like they had no idea what they were doing, and the price was constantly changing. read more

Took car in for service on rear lights and check engine. they called me later and said it was going to cost 100 non refundable for code check, whatever the repair turns out to be plus X for the lights and another $15 because it wasnt in stock. I said re: lights - are you sure that is the problem? they said they couldnt look because the tonneu cover was locked. Thats a lie - the cover was not locked - i lost the key years ago. bold faced lie. then 2 days later the called to say they forgot to order the parts. Then another few days and i call them and they apologize and that the car is ready. the code they said was a stored code and there was nothing wrong. 10 minutes after leaving the lot - check engine comes back on. Absolutely horrible service. I'm upset I even have to give them one star for the service they provided. My boyfriend and I went to look at a car and were treated with the utmost disrespect. All of the salesmen were eating, watching television, and sucking up their snot (please use a tissue, there are plenty available. Gross!) We looked at a Maxima and after every question, the sale person replied with, "I don't know." He talked down on the car and us, basically saying that since we're young, we'd never be able to buy the car. He told my boyfriend multiple times to bring back his parents and have them buy it for him. Excuse me, but you do not know either of us like that. What if his parents had died? How rude. The car was listed for $15,000 and after tags, title, and everything, the out the door price was ~$19,500. What?! I bought a brand new Chevy from Adams for a lot less than what was actually listed. My boyfriend had looked at a Maxima in Annapolis the day before, and it was listed at $16,900 but the out the door price was still closer to $17k. How is it that a car listed for more is selling for less? Left disappointed and thoroughly offended. I will never do business here again. The man we dealt with needs to get off his high horse because he just lost two prospective customers, as well as our family and friends. read more

My son and I just purchased a used 2008 Dodge 1500. They charged my son $1295 for Maryland State Inspection. Their internet site states that they charge the average cost in Maryland to "complete" the inspection. From internet sources, we found the average fee for inspection ranges $150-$250. My son asked the salesman why it was so high, and he replied "That's the way they do it". They also charged $495 for reconditioning, $299 for for dealer processing. We took the car because it was one-owner, low mileage, and excellent condition. We paid cash with no trade-in. No haggling on the price. I am filing a complaint with Maryland Attorney General's office, Consumer Protection Division. We will never go there again for anything. Had not the car been excellent, we would have walked away. read more

This is a just a rating of the service center. I have only been using Cook for service on my Mazda CX-5. I didn't purchase it at Cook, but they have been great to work with nonetheless. I take my car there for oil changes, routine service, etc. The process has always been pleasant and estimates accurate. They also have a decent area to wait, although it appears there is some renovation going on, which should make things nicer. It can be a bit of a pain to get in and out of due to their location at a busy intersection. Also I have found it can be a bit difficult to get the service center on the phone, often I get rerouted back to the receptionist. I plan to continue to use Cook for my car's maintenance and I will consider Cook when looking at my next car if the service center's professionalism is an indication of the rest of the dealership. read more

Service was good and relatively quick. Price is WAY OVER PRICED. Air filter for $55.00, tires rotation $20.00. I bet the filter wasn't even dirty. Tires I could have rotated myself for free and the air filter at a local parts store was less than half the price. Be careful when choosing simple DIY things. read more

I had a great experience with the purchase of my car. I bought from the Dodge side. Laron helped me and was so kind. However, when I went back for my oil change, I was disrespected by an employee who I remember from highschool. He must not have remembered me so he began to insult me in front of customers. I made a complaint to the management and was told that I have a credit on my account for the "situation that occurred". The the is, what disciplinarian action was taken against him? He still works there. I hope this guy doesn't treat other people that way. There should be more people working there like Laron. read more

Buying a used car is usually such a hassle, but Christa at Cook Auto was so knowledgeable, helpful, and professional there was no stress at all. I drove 1 1/2 hours to get there, but it was worth it. I got the car I wanted, at the price I wanted, and the interest on the financing was better than I could get at my credit union. Everyone at the dealership was so professional and friendly and it was much appreciated. If there's a negative, it would be that the computers run a bit slow. Might be time for an upgrade? read more

REALLY BAD PEOPLE AND UNPROFESSIONALS I looked at a car online listed for $12K I went to the dealership they showed it to me and I decided to get it. The dealership put on writing the work that the car needed like paint buffing, remove dog hair, squeak from the break and low in gas. Unfortunately they only filled the car with gas 100%; paint was buffed but lots of scratches couldn't come off when it was promised. Dog hair remains and the squeak from the breaks never went away. First flag... They run my credit and "supposedly they did approve it" and I when to see the financial guy. When I read over the contract and I notice that the car cost is $13,400 plus another $1K on taxes, titles and others. I was upset obviously because of the $1,400 difference and then I argued with the financial guy. He wanted me to believe it was for the cost of the inspection at first, then he tried for supposed repairs that the car need; Why didn't they tell me all of this upfront? I took the car regardless because I needed. That was the second flag. I drove away with the "supposed legal8 contract or paper work", the car and the keys. Two weeks later they called and told me I needed to go back to sign more paper and their excuse was they have got a better deal for me... ummm third flag!!!. I wasn't going to sign another contract because "supposedly they gave one already". Next day before I approached the dealership I got emails from the credit bureau and when I checked my credit, This maniacs pulled my credit 6 times the day of the supposed purchased and 2 more times two weeks later. Why is that? Four flag this is not good !!! I went to the dealer so mad that they pulled another contract for me to sign and I told them that I wasn't going to sign anything because everything looks like they have given a contract and a car with no approval from anybody; I told them also they were going to keep the car because they are trusted and the guy from the financial department took my paperwork away, ripped them in many pieces he could threw them on my face and started yelling and cursing at me. On top of that asking me to go outside and get physical with him. Obviously I wasn't going to just stand watching and responded back. I talked to two other people including the one of managers and they kept the car. In between those two weeks I had a company installed a hitch to it and as today they are refusing to give it back to me and also refusing to give me any kind of paperwork where it says they have got the car back and we do not have any boundaries. We still do not have the issue resolved, and we bought the Durango in April. Called and talk to the guy one time, and have left many messages and doesn't call back. Great experience with the service department at Cook. My car was making a crazy noise. I called in the morning and they had me bring it in by 10:30. They had no loaner cars left but hooked me up with Enterprise in Aberdeen. The guy from Aberdeen Enterprise told me he hears a lot of positive reviews about Cook. They had my car for a total of 9 days because they had to wait for a part to come in - but they called every two or three days just to update me on the status. Unfortunately after driving the car for 2 days, it started making the noise again. I called and they were super accommodating and very apologetic. I brought the car back in and they fixed it within 2 days, no charge - also added on a vehicle inspection, tire pressure check a car wash AND VACUUM - all no charge. Everyone from the service manager down to the cashiers were very nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend Cook. read more

I started to leave and they talked me into staying and buying the vehicle. I told them to hold the vehicle until my home loan went through and they told me to that they would hold a check. They had me sign papers. THREE DAYS LATER they submitted my info to 6 banks. This messed up my house loan which cost me more money. . The next day they charged the PRICE OF THE CAR TO Chase. I never received any paper work or warning they were going to do this. I originally told them I would pay cash and gave a check to hold until my closing. I tried to return the car and they were very hostile with me. These people are liars. They will tell you one thing and do whatever they want. DON"T SIGN ANYTHING WITH THESE PEOPLE. As a busy full time working Mom of 2 I knew it was time to make the PURCHASE!!! That's right I am now the owner of a mini-van. With the help of Barnett January and William Mosca I have now achieved the sexy and sensible look I needed to make the purchase worthwhile. Now I can rest assure that my family will have ample room to haul all of their sports equipment and friends, while I enjoy a smooth ride with ALL the bells and whistles. Plus once I heard about the Cook Cares for Life, I knew I came to the right place. I will never need to go to Jiffy Lube and wonder if they are really changing my oil or not.
