I am extremely disappointed with my experience with this company. I purchased very expensive veneer that was advertised as flawless and of superior quality, yet the pieces I received had multiple cracks, completely ruining a valuable project I was working on. I tried to resolve the issue in a calm and amicable way, but instead I was met with disrespectful responses, including offensive undertones. On top of that, a discounted invoice that had already been approved was suddenly canceled, and a valid discount coupon issued by the company itself was later refused without a proper explanation. This behavior is highly unprofessional and unacceptable, especially considering the premium prices and image this company promotes. i negotiated the sale of my Koa inventory to Cook woods. I delivered it to them and an employee tallied the lumber. Chris Cook, the owner with whom I made the arrangement, then discounted the total board footage by more than 25% saying that my lumber which was 3/4" thick didn't qualify at my tally of board feet. He knows full well that dressed/surfaced lumber is traded as a board foot at the 3/4" thickness. He has cheated me out of over $1300 in this transaction. He is an unscrupulous businessman. read more

I've been ordering wood for my projects from Cook Woods and the service and materials are great. They make it really easy to sort through their inventory online (really a brilliant system, so well laid out with filtering that I often order from my phone). The stock arrives fairly quickly, and when I open the box and catalog and label everything it's always what I expected. There were a few times when upon packing my order they noticed a piece I'd ordered became warped or wasn't available. They contacted me right away and asked for my preference among several choices for a substitute. They really look out for their customers, and offer things that I previously just did without because it was not readily available elsewhere. You can order veneers, turning and knife handle blanks, lumber of various sizes/ thicknesses (I usually get things in the 3-4 ft. length range) from a ludicrous variety of species. They charge top dollar and there wood is average at best. I have place 3 orders with cooked wood and all 3 had issues. They treated me like I was trying to get something for free and I was scamming them. I just wanted what was advertised and paid for by me. I must have herd the word threshold 10 times in my conversation with them about my last order.Needless to say but I will not be ordering from them again and will definitely not recommend them to any of my fellow woodworkers read more

This business is currently holding $569 hostage from me. I placed an order and cancelled in less than 24 hours. They are demanding $118 fee in order to refund my money. Had they resolved this issue quickly I would happily have ordered from them in the future.
