Awesome soul food spot! I ordered delivery. My favorite dish was the jerk pasta. It was creamy and well seasoned. The mac and cheese was also pretty good. It was very cheesy with mild flavor. The mac and cheese balls were amazingly crispy and had a nice satisfying bite, even warmed up. The garlic broccoli was a bit mushy, but also nicely seasoned. I also enjoyed the fried plantains. My husband felt the salmon was a bit dry, but was happy with the shrimp and yams. For dessert, we tried the fried oroes. They were topped with a ton of powdered sugar. They were gooey and tasty. I order from here for my grandma she likes the lamb chops. I decided to get something for myself. I ordered the oxtail, rice and beans with sweet plantain. Pros's are the portion sizes and Oxtail has good flavor but the cons are that the oxtail is wayyy to undercooked. Tough as all hell actually. The rice and beans are over seasoned making it borderline salty. The plantains are the only thing cooked correctly. I'm genuinely only eating as much as possible because I paid 30 bucks for the meal. read more

I've eaten from Cooklyn Eats several times and never had an unpleasant experience. They serve up great tasting soul food with a Caribbean flair! I recommend the salmon platter with creamy garlic sauce. It was so tasty and delicious. The cuts of salmon are very generous. The candied yams and macaroni and cheese were nothing short of amazing! I experiences ooey gooey, mac n cheesey delight! They have one of the best tasting jerk pastas in the Bronx. The prices are justified for the amount of food received. I have ordered delivery from here several times. Their food is amazing , I usually get the fried shrimp platter my 2 sides I pick are mac&cheese and candied yams with marshmallows. Mouth watering. One night they were closed @9pm when I called and I was so disappointed so I ordered from another place and I couldn't eat it what I got was not soul food. The Salmon never disappoints! Also the rice and beans are superior to most! Very flavorful. I only do delivery so I can't speak to ambiance or service. My only complaint is the 2 for one deals are not really 2 for one; the price is inflated a little. Also they have a tendency to give smaller portions especially the salmon deal. read more

Ordered from here on thanksgiving while at work. I ordered lemon pepper wings with mac & cheese & yams. The sides were ok but the chicken was horrible! There was no lemon pepper flavor on them, they were undercooked & they sat on what seemed to be 2oz of oil! I bit into 2 pieces of chicken & they were extremely tough & red inside. I was mortified. $40 in the trash ‍ & the strawberry lemonade was so thick it tasted concentrated so I had to dilute it with lots of water. Not worth the money at all! I have ordered different meal combinations from Cooklyns via Uber Eats and Postmates several times, taking advantage of their BOGO! Their fried tender platter disappointed me. I have ordered buffalo sauce twice; one time they gave me ranch, the other time they didn't. The Macaroni and Cheese is quite oily. Cilantro on top of it was not a great addition it was too much. The mashed potatoes lack flavor. Their grilled tenders are alright, and one side that I ended up liking was their Jerk Pasta. I ordered a bowl with baked wings and Jerk Pasta. The breading disappointed me, the wings tasted old. They didn't put Jerk Pasta; they gave me cilantro lime rice. They did not communicate if they were out of Jerk Pasta, no substitution was offered. I do not like cilantro lime rice. I've tried their breakfast too.. I wish I didn't bother. The coco bread breakfast sandwich was DISGUSTING. The sausage made me want to puke, it smelled and tasted bad.. I think it actually went bad and they served it anyway! There's no way that sausage should be smelling the way it smelled. Chicken & Waffles wasn't great either because the Waffles were tough and arrived cold (temperature probably due to delivery). Overall, I have not ordered from Cooklyns in a while and I have been hesitating to because of the oily foods, disappointing experience with several types of chicken, and I do not trust that they will communicate if they run out of something. The waffles had the consistency of half cooked dough. The bacon was served salty and with some pieces still raw. Took it back to the store to convey my dissatisfaction. They took the food back, reheated the same half cooked waffles, and gave them back to me. This has to be the worst $15 breakfast that I have ever purchased in my life. I ordered from Cooklyn Eats through Uber eats ....i was a little skeptical because soul food spots be hit or miss....i am so glad i decided to try because this spot is a definite HIT!!! I had the BOGO chicken wing platter with Mac and cheese and collard greens i also had sweet Thai chili sauce on the side for the wings. The Mac n cheese was bussin!!! I was surprised because like i said soul food spots are hit or miss...the collard greens were good but i like mine cut in ribbons instead of eating a big leaf like a giraffe LOL! But they were very flavorful i think there was turkey meat in it as well. The wings awwww man the wings 10/10 flavor was on point!!!! The second plate my boyfriend ordered was the shrimp dinner with rice and peas and Rasta pasta. I also tasted his food as well. The shrimp were huge and flavorful as well. A little soggy but I'm sure that's due to transportation nothing an oven couldn't fix. The rice and peas was different the flavors were ok but i probably wouldn't get the rice again. I knew it would be a problem when I saw $30 for oxtails on my uber eats app. But I ordered them anyway for my grandson (who loves oxtails) they were too salty and extremely tough. rude people. little hole in the wall place. got there to pick up my order and after yelling several times from someone to come up front I ended up knocking on the door loudly and this short little spanish lady came out being all rude and looking at me crazy. I told her I had been calling out several times and she said we have cameras we would have seen you. so I told her if she wasn't in the back gossiping and listening to loud music she would have heard! keep someone at the cash register. it's a small establishment with no parking so don't make your customers wait when the order has been placed ahead of time and is ready to be picked up. but most importantly don't be rude!!!!! won't be back for sure!
