For the life of me I cannot figure out why something like Cookona hasn't made its way to Los Angeles. It's an excellent concept that's executed well in a very quaint and comfortable little shop.
Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere?
If you haven't already figured it out, Cookona is a dessert shop more or less dedicated to cookies and cookie dough. They also have ice cream, but you're here for the cookies if you're being honest. The staff speak perfect English and they accept credit cards for even the smallest transactions. Star.
Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost?
The cookies at Cookona aren't cheap at €1,80 each for what are medium sized cookies, but such is the way of the world these days when it comes to dessert price points in Europe and Barcelona specifically. I got two, one Chocolate Chip and one Dulce de Leche. Star.
Stars 3 and 4: How was the food?
Were these the best cookies I've ever had? They weren't, but they were very good, with good flavor and a freshness that went a long way. The dulce could have probably benefited from a bit more caramel in the mix, but all in all I was pleased. Single Star.
Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could?
I love this concept, and it's in many ways reminiscent of my all time favorite cookie shop Ben's Cookies in London. I'd gladly come daily. Star. read more
