This is our first time checking out this place. The drinks were okay for us, Starbucks is Lowkey better than this place I would say for the coffee. For smoothie it tasted pretty good! The banana bread tasted amazing and it's not too sweet which what I like. The service were meh, she wasn't really nice to us and seem to have an attitude. For the environment, the whole coffee shop smelled like grilled/burn sandwiches. It gave me a headache just sitting there for 10 mins. I used to LOVE Cool Bean. Delicious bagels and really sweet baristas. I had experience in a cafe & so I understand proper etiquette when helping customers. The gals that have worked there previously are attentive, kind, knowledgeable, and they make good drinks. Sadly, this company has had a change of employees and I have to say the new afternoon gals are less than incompetent. I waited 20 minutes for a bagel and Italian soda. 10 in line, and 10 for my bagel. The drink #1 was okay. Could've used more cream but whatever. However the bagel was not only cold, but barely had any cream cheese. I asked for extra cream cheese, I wanted a good amount and the barista repeated my order exactly how I said. Then I watch the two chat. They talk for a few minutes and when the bagel pops, they keep talking. One of them gets out her phone and is showing the other something, laughing and chatting. They finally start to put on my stuff, but ever so slowly while talking. After she finished cheesing the bagel, she stopped to talk AGAIN. Lo and behold, the bagel that I waited so long for and wanted extra cream cheese on, was cold and had just a smidge of cream cheese. Basically just bread. SO aggravating. I paid $15 for poor service and gross food. I had been loyal customer for YEARS but I am sooooo done with Cool Bean. read more

The menu said the coffee was one price, but the cafe charged a different price. We are not talking about some small change. We are talking about a $0.75 charge on a flavored latte that is supposed to cost $4 according to the board. It came up to $4.75 plus you have to pay a transaction fee $0.25. She proceeded to approach two other vehicles behind me to gather their orders as well one handed her an umbrella. When she ran back inside and I approached the drive-through window, all three employees inside were not wearing masks. I see absolutely no masks available on the side counters or hanging off of an ear of employees. I just spent five dollars on a beverage that I am now going to throw away because I am concerned and this was my first visit to this location. I found this place while visiting my parents and I've been here quite a few times since. I love a local coffee shop vs. the chains this city is flooded with. If you're looking for a flavored latte, be sure to ask for their syrup menu. It's a bit more extensive than what they have on their regular menu. I typically get the coconut or macadamia nut almond milk latte. Their breakfast burrito is super yummy, too! And they have a few gluten free pastries, which has become super important since I found out I have a gluten allergy. They came out because the line was long in the drive thru and took orders ahead. I ordered my drink and when she asked if I wanted flavors and I told her no, she gave me a rude look. I ordered a soy latte, they don't offer 12 oz in iced drinks so they suggested just add extra ice, which was fine. The price was $3.75 (I was charged an extra 0.25, which was fine, but they offered no explanation). I got my drink and took a sip, I noticed it was very light for a latte with no flavoring, but didn't think twice. I tasted it and realized it was JUST SOY MILK. There are TWO ingredients to a latte, milk and espresso. HOW DO YOU FORGET THE MOST IMPORTANT INGREDIENT? I spent $5 on 16 oz of a lot of ice and soy milk. Really wanted to like this place and support the local business but after this, won't be going back. read more

This place is very friendly and a great place to sit and spend time with friends and family. They have little games such as ticktacktoe as well as complementary lollipops. They have a nice atmosphere, nice lighting, pretty displays, and the baristas have beautiful singing voices! The ladies helping us were very kind to bring us our coffee and ask if we would like it hotter after they had offered to make them a "drinkable" temperature. I've drove past this espresso stand a few times and wanted to stop by to try. And oh boy I'm glad I did today. I was craving one of those cheesy bagels with cream cheese. They had them! AND they put the cream cheese on for me which is a small thing but means a lot to me because I like hot and fresh food and I'm on the go. Very tasty. Coffee was yummy too. This is the ABSOLUTE BEST coffee house I've been to in Pierce County. The owners and their staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They remember my drink order every week, and I appreciate being recognized as a regular customer. The coffee here is strong and full-bodied, and the flavor options make for all sorts of delicious beverage opportunities. They are eager to provide exceptional service, and they're super accommodating to all types of dietary preferences (check out the gf cinnamon rolls). I just can't recommend this place enough. This coffee place is so good. It became my favorite. I was visiting from California and by far Cool Bean Espresso has become my favorite! The best part they are down the street from my sister in law who lives in Puyallup. They also offer delicious burritos, bagels... jalapeño bagels my favorite! And muffins. I like their chocolate chip muffin tops! The baristas are all so nice and make the best coffee and chai lattes. I absolutely love supporting local businesses, and this little spot is absolutely awesome! They offer espresso that is perfectly roasted, not too dark and not too light... goldy locks would just love this place. They also offer a cute cold brewed shot of espresso that you literally take at the window (it's served in a real shot glass) their flavors are simple, but expertly crafted beverages are the name of their game. I haven't visited the inside of the store, but the drive thru is rather fast, and is rather efficient. read more

The lady in the the drive thru was very friendly. We got banana bread for the kids. We also got a White Mocha large. They whipped it up pretty quickly. I'm looking forward to trying more options next time. The bread taste moist and fluffy. My coffee was excellent exactly how a white mocha is suppose to taste.
