We had to bring our pup to a specialty veterinarian nearby and stopped in afterward for breakfast and to get an oil change. We walked over from Sunset Chevrolet with our injured dog in a stroller, and the staff could not have been kinder. We ordered him scrambled eggs, and they surprised him with a bacon-topped pup cup. Several staff members even came out to our table to say hello and make him feel welcome. The food was fantastic. I ordered the HOBO, and it was absolutely delicious. My spouse had the pastrami sandwich, which was just as impressive. We sat outside - which is really nice - but the inside is super clean and very welcoming. The combination of exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and how they treated our dog made this an experience we'll remember. We'll definitely be making River's Edge Cafe a regular stop whenever we're in the area.

I had a breakfast burrito (it comes with two small burritos) which were great! Just nice simple ingredients done well with yummy salsa on the side. I also tasted my friend's egg salad sandwich, which was also great. My iced latte was solid. There's a nice variety of items here, sandwiches, soups, lunch, breakfast, etc. so there's something for everyone. Though I don't get out to Sumner very often, I'd definitely return here if I'm looking for a stop for lunch or a quick meal on the go.

I was impressed how organized it was. Plenty of free parking options in designated parking lots and street parking. They had a variety of quality vendors. Fresh produce. Pretty flowers. Good food trucks and coffee vendors. Live music. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area.

I assumed it was a place to get goods…read moreat a fair price, but after visiting several markets, I'm not convince that is the case. It's more of a community bizarre, and the pricing is aggressive to say the least. At a recent market, there was a seller selling tomatoes for $11 a pound. How are you selling direct to the public at a rate at almost 4x local stores. Matter of fact, I was in Chinatown this week and a seller was selling tomatoes for $1.40 a pound. No, the Chinatown tomatoes weren't as round or as pretty as the farmers market, but I suspect once sliced they taste the same. Puyallup is a hike, but reviews were plenty and positive. It is so far the largest market we've seen. There were plenty of choices. What I have learned is to walk the property before spending. It's easy to see something you like and buy it only to find another vendor selling for less. I can easily give this place 5 stars for selection, but pricing is a single star. Chocolate at $60 per pound. Jerky at $50 per pound and a glass of lemonade for $8. If you are bringing your signature items to market, be fair in how you price. I can get a gallon of lemonade for less than $5 at Safeway, a pound of jerky from Oberto for about $30 and a pound of candy for about $30 at See's, even closer to $20 if you buy certificates from Costco. I love to support the little guy, but I suspect short of the farmers, some of these sellers are doing very well for themselves.

Sure you can look it up on Yelp or Google, but what if you don't want to or have the ability to? My only experiences is through the drive-through, the experience inside the building might be better, but their drive-through really needs to step up with advertising and maybe a popular drink menu. I got a sugar-free caramel macchiato, it tasted very milky, not a lot of flavor. I also got their pesto and turkey Panini sandwich, and to be honest it was really salty, but overall decent. I wouldn't get it again, but it's not a bad choice if you like a little more sodium. The best thing about this visit was the pup cup. Other coffee shops give a cup that it's really hard for the snouts to get all the way in and this cup is flexible and nice and easy. Probably won't return unless I want a pup cup.

We were wanting to get on the road but figured with four or five people behind the counter service would not be sluggish, but alas! I think they had to remake someone else's order. The coffee drinks here are more like what you get at a plastic-sign drive through coffee stand - made for the sweet caramel whip cream crowd, not for the actual espresso drinker. The pastries did not come across as homemade or made well.
