Cool Cats is a bargain in the resort town of Chamonix. No, this isn't authentic French, Swiss, or German food, but it is good food and some of the cheapest you'll find in the city. The hotdogs are served with towering piles of toppings. You seriously almost won't be able to see the bun or dog under them. At €10-€14 this is a steal. There is even a veggie menu which is rarity and such a great addition. And those options taste good! The fries are almost worth the expensive price tag. The Comforter was a good hotdog but make sure you love sour kraut because you'll receive a mountain of the stuff. Staff is pretty cut and dry but they are helpful and do speak English. You order inside, sit only outside, and the food comes quick. Free tap water is available but there is no restroom. read more

Definitely want to come here again! Not only were these hotdogs huge and you get a lot of quantity. But they are also so flavorful and you really cash out on quality too! We tried Korean - I thought this would be weird, but the kimchi actually worked so well in this hot dog. The sourness doesn't overpower at all, it's also sweet, savory, and creamy! Mexican - this was the table favorite. It had pulled meat instead of a hotdog, which actually made it easier to eat. And the meat was seasoned to perfection! It went with the guac so well! If you're not too hungry, one hotdog will easily feed 2 people so it's definitely worth it! read more

MUCH MORE than a hot dog stand. No indoor seating but lots of outdoor covered chairs/benches. Big portions. Lots of choices for toppings and the protein (franks, smoked German sausage, chicken, pulled pork). Just off the main shopping street. The value is strong; tasty, filling, price is reasonable. Location is a bit crammed but we went on a pretty nice day so being outside was great. No better way to refuel after a day of hiking than the decadence that is Cool Cats. Delicious sausages slathered with indulgent toppings and delicious fries covered in rich sauce. Everything was flavorful and delicious. Its loaded dogs and french fries done well not much more to it. If you want to counteract the aerobic gains from whatever outdoor activity brought you to Chamonix-Mont Blanc, come here. No better place to do it! read more

We went to Cool Cats for the second time this week. Went once last year also while in Chamonix. They have fabulous hot dogs and french fries! On this trip much of the menu items were marked out as unavailable which was disappointing. We both had frankfurter comfort dogs & shared mexican fries. Very yummy but honestly not as good as we remembered. Service was nice & terrace was lovely. Definitely recommend if you're in the mood for a beer & over the top creative hot dog. read more

Bam! That was yummy. Choose Pork or Lamb Dog. Then decide if you want a topping. Smart folk hit it with the Skagen. It is like a shrimp roll bound with sandwich spread (Shrimp, mayo, red onion, dill, horseradish). Couple it with a basket of fries and wash'em down by a nice glass of sangria. The bun ain't quite right but fxck it...the friendly staff easily makes up for that small slight. I'll be back! read more

Good food, good service, good location = definitely a place I'd eat at again. We were looking for something quick and easy for dinner, and Cool Cat's definitely hit the spot. Order inside (make sure you close the door behind you securely), and the server will bring you your food wherever you find a seat. It wasn't too cold out, so we sat outside, and the heaters kept it plenty warm. Not a huge selection of food or beer, but plenty to work with. All of the dogs are available with your choice of lamb, veal, or pork sausage, and there is a falafel option as well if you are vegetarian. My buddy, and the guy at the table next to us, demolished his Big Apple, which seemed to be a good bet. I threw them a curveball by getting the falafel burger without falafel, but with a lamb sausage instead. That was a bloody winner though! A side of frites hit the spot as well (you have to order them as a side, they don't come standard). Definitely a place to go for a quick and easy meal in downtown Chamonix. read more

This is my favorite restaurant anywhere in world. The food is unbelievable, better than any hot dog I've ever had. The ingredients are so fresh, and each dog is unique and fantastic in its own way. Same for the fries. The staff is warm, sincere, and makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door. Just when you think you couldn't ask for more, Cookie gets up from her dog bed to greet every customer. Simple, exquisitely delicious food served in a warm setting with a great dog to keep you company. This is the rare instance where I can't think of any way to make a restaurant better. A group of us (6 people) went to Cool Cats for dinner. When we ordered we were told it would take 30 mins to get our food. It took an hour. Other than that though, the food was really good. Not sure why the 5 star rating, this pace serves over cooked sausages and calls them hot dogs. The potatoes it was served on was better than the sausage itself. Hard to cut through the casing especially with the wooden implements. Sangria was a kiddy cocktail, not what I was expecting. read more
