The last project completed was having a new supply vent installed in my son's room. But I do notice a big issue. The vent feels hot and I can feel hot air around the vent. It appears the new vent is not insulated correctly or I have a leaky duct. Also, the box is not secured. It moves around. I give the company credit for attempting to fix a few things but overall won't be using them again. I need to look for another company to diagnose the hot vent and warm air inside the vent. I checked all my vents and this is the only vent with the hot air inside. Hot air should not be coming through a vent that is turned off. 9/15 - I have spent hours in the attic trying to troubleshoot the hot air leaking in the bedroom. The boot is not sealed. I will attempt to see it will something and prevent hot air from getting in. This whole project has been a big headache. I wish I just left my system as it was and not hired this company to touch it. I didn't want to give 1 star because they attempted to resolve the issues but the techs take a lot of shortcuts and don't do the job right. Very nice techs and sincere but I'm not just not happy with the quality of work. 1. Not happy with the placement of the return and supply ducts. 2. I've had to call another company to replace the boot on supply vent this weekend. They will be moving the location of the supply vent because it is flush against a 2X4. Just a bad location. The supply vent was also not seal properly or screwed down in any way. You could literally pull in out without the vent grill. 3. I have spent maybe 9 hours in my attic just with other techs discussing changes they recommend. 4. I had to hang up ductwork just left hanging on the ground or in odd locations. There was also ductwork on top of my system. I had to fix that too. 5. With all the money spent, my static pressure is still not in the ideal range. I've had 2 other companies measure it. That is another project I need to tackle later in the future. I'm sorry my experience was not great overall but I hope yours is great. 9/25 - I had few HVAC techs stop by and found more issues. The ductwork used is such poor quality that hot air is leaking is my sons room because of the ductwork falling apart. One tech said it looks like leftover from a job or something found in a dumpster. I have been quoted $300 to $700 just to replace the ductwork. Also, I found leaky ducts from the last TruClimate job. I fixed those myself with mastic and tape. Otherwise this company would have cost me even more money. My thoughts, if you hire this company check the work when they are done. I am very close to just disputing the amount charged by this company to undo all the problems this company did.

When our AC unit went out in the lovely Texas…read moreheatwave on 7/22 (aka normal Summer!), Rose was quick to listen to our issues and my comedy around our situation (we have an autistic 6 year old who would've been stuck sleeping in bed with us if we didn't find a solution ASAP). Rose had a technician, Rafael, scheduled to come out the SAME DAY. That is truly unheard of in my experience. We were kept updated on arrival time through a tracking link which is way better than being given a large window of time without visibility into an approximate arrival. Rafael was quick to diagnose our issue and walked through our options (needed to replace the unit which was at end of life), informed us of finance options if approved and even put in a temporary fix so our boy could sleep comfortably in his own room that evening. Rose had 2 wonderful technicians come out to install the new unit the wet next day!!! I'm blanking their names but they were efficient and awesome. We had some issues installing the new thermostat, but again, they put in a temp fix and the new unit was up and running in no time. Another gentleman came out about a week later to install the new thermostat. I'm also blanking his name (sorry :/),but he took the time to walk me through why there was trouble installing it in the first place as well as how to operate the new thermostat, applied some default settings based on his recommendations and made sure my app on my phone was working. Fast forward to today, 9/8, we had an issue over the Labor Day weekend with water leaking through a ceiling fixture (older home, older plumbing, happened before). We contacted Strickland on Sunday and they had another wonderful technician, Duncan, to our home this AM. Duncan took the time to explain to us what was going on with the units and assess as well as diagnose it's a plumbing issue related to the unit(s). He provided us with a reference and we have them coming out at 8 am tomorrow (looks like I'll be doing a review in the near future for them as well ;)). Lastly, huge shoutout to Jeremy. Jeremy is the owner, and I can't say enough great things about him and his team. He took the time to call us and make sure everything was going well. I don't know a lot of owners who care to take the time to do that or take our call on a holiday weekend. We will never use anyone else and will always recommend Strickland to family, friends and strangers. Strickland is like family to us!!

Certain refrigerants are no longer being produced, and they are very expensive. We wanted to get out from under the 28 year old system, so opted to have a complete new system installed. Brandt Dickey recently installed a new HVAC system in our home. We had a few quotes, and Brandt's was in the middle. Brandt also came highly recommended by my bother-in-law, and has been doing work for him for a very long time. So we went with Dickey's A/C. As the system is barely a week old, and I have not had to use the A/C yet, I am only going to comment on the installation. As the summer approaches, and temperatures rise, I will likely update this review (when the system is put to the real test as temperatures rise). I may also update when the temperatures drop again, as this is a heat-pump system, so primary cooling will done by reversing the system. I never really quite understood heat-pump technology, but now that I have a better understanding, it's pretty neat. The removal of the old system and the install of the new went fairly smoothly. However, when it came to start the system up, there were two problems. It was late, so Brandt needed to come back the next day. Both problems were fully resolved the following day, but it did require me to be home again. Problem 1: The system not switching into heat-pump mode. This turned out to be a mis-inserted wire on the thermostat. Easy fix. Oh, on the subject of the thermostat, a new one, and wiring, was required. Heat-pump systems require more control wires, and the old wiring did not have enough wires. This meant a new wire was run from outdoor unit to indoor unit, and from indoor unit to (new) thermostat. Problem 2: The system was not holding pressure, and this turned out to be a bad weld in a hard to see place. Also easily fixed, once the leak was located. The system was now 100% functional. Yay! Brandt did a good job of cleaning up and hauling the old stuff away. Sure, the recyclers would have gladly picked (some of) this stuff up, but it was nice not to deal with (any) it. So all and all, a pretty good experience. I can't wait to see how the new system works, in both the summer and winter. I'm happy that my wife thought of getting this done now, in the cooler temps, as waiting until summer might have meant higher prices and longer waits. Oh, and I think this new system may result in a tax break, as it meets some energy efficiency guidelines. So hopefully less tax next year, and smaller electricity bills throughout the year. Bottom line: It's going to be cool to be cool! PS. The system is a Goodman. The main reason for selecting this system was size. We have some tricky spaces to deal with, and Goodman fit the spaces the best. I was skeptical of the brand, but Brandt said they have gotten a lot better over the years. Even so, I may opt for the extended warranty, at least on the more expensive outdoor unit (compressor).

Specifically: Brandt has worked on the central air conditioning unit in my home a handful of times over the last fifteen years (as needed) and has always done excellent work at a very reasonable price.
