My friend was not as disciplined as I, so she ordered a cup of some chocolate peanut butter which she kvelled over. Apparently, they also had an orange long stringy confection that she wanted for later indulgence. All very cool, but she isn't diabetic. The ambiance of Egger's is definitely mid-twentieth century, and could use a fresh coat of paint to brighten the joint up a bit. Maybe better lighting, too. Otherwise, growing up in the City (Washington Heights) in the same era, this malt shop/candy emporium with long counter and spinners brought fond memories of my childhood flooding back. I loved everything. If you have a sweet tooth like me, this place can definitely become a little dangerous, especially for the health goals. The banana foster coffee was really good, and the flavor paired surprisingly well with the dessert. I've always heard when you visit a bakery for the first time, you should start with the staples, so I went with the chocolate chip cookie. And, there were so many options that choosing just one was a challenge. That first bite did not disappoint, with melted chocolate inside, just like how I like it. You can taste the sea salt, but it's subtle and doesn't overpower the cookie at all. Such a well executed cookie, so good. The service provided was also pleasant. I'm already looking forward to trying the other flavors of cookies, as well as some of their other drinks. Parking was also pretty easy for me since it's on a corner nearby a residential area. The iced latte, though I didn't ask for any sweetener, was super sweet. I noticed they used pacific barista almond milk, and after looking it up, found it has a lot of added sugar. So not my favorite. Besides that, everything was good!
